We see this same theme again in the movie "Castaway." Again, Tom Hanks character (Chuck Noland) is in love with Kellie. Near the end of the movie, during a pivotal scene, she says: "Jack, Jack". She couldn't even get his name right. Again, hot chick with no soul. Common theme here.

I reckon Forrest Gump is one of the greatest two or three films ever produced in Hollywood. I might rate Gone With the Wind as highly, but I can't think of too many others. Tom Hanks is a brilliant actor, and I'm sure it's the role he played in the film 'Big' that prolly got him this part. I can't think of anyone who could have emulated him here.

I cried during parts of this movie. Forrest, though lacking in some areas, was all heart. His selflessness toward his comrads and his friend Bubba earned him not only the Medal of Honor, but more importantly the respect of many. I think if more people were like Forrest, the world would be a better place.
