the only reason people would put storm troopers in a vendetta is cuz the vendetta has the rule were it terbo boosts and the guys inside and (grav-jump) oit. and noobs like to picture stormtroopers as US airborne or whatever and do that and they think its cool when they come out, i did it in my first game and my stormtroopers and the vendetta got recked before they could get out
Also, the reason i'd go 6 man squad is that many enemy squads are 10 man, and if you manage to make them take more than 50% shooting casualties they must take a moral check... right? So basically they might not turn around and crush your stormies right away. Allthough chances are that if you need to use AP3 on it, it allready has good leadership save.
Not putting assault weapons in there makes them pretty cheap, but meltabombs is a cheaper, more reliable way to kill vehicles. The plasma has better range rapidfire and ap2 for termies, but needs a 10 man squad for ensurance that your investment will get more than one round of shooting.
@coolhaloboy360 Kaskins and Stormtroopers are the same in the codex. There isnt two separate pages for kaskins and storm troopers. They just look different from eachother. I play a cadian look imperial guard army so I bought kaskins because they fit the fluff as part of a cadian army. Stormtroopers are worth their points they can last a good amount of time if you put them in a valkeryie or vendetta.
@LearnMeHowWarhammer no but they can take a chimera which is dirt cheap, pop smoke and rush at the enemy. anyways deep striking is unreliable, the chances of landing within 6'' of the target vehicle to get 2 d6 for armour penetration with the meltas is unlikely
@LearnMeHowWarhammer thats all very well but then you have 5 isolated men with only 4+ save in the middle of the enemys lines. but hey if your getting decent results fielding stormtroopers then good on you, I only wish my memories of using them were so cheerful
@ay2dee yup all im saying is i have had lots of sucess with them, they are throw aways but they give the rest of my army a good advantage by making 3 vehicles go away
Just a note on how I would use a vendetta and Storm troopers. You have the vendetta go up to a unit drop out the stormies, fire its 3 cannones, blow up a transport then Pew Pew Pew the squad is taken out by the stormies. Little bit harder if you cant assure the squad is together. Still, your right, most situations its not the best idea.
@LearnMeHowWarhammer Haha I spose not. Tbh this video has changed my perception of stormtroopers. I especially like the second tank killer tactic, though I feel that they're pretty expensive as far as throw away units go. However, that said I may just have to invest in some.
I like the Kasrkins better than the other models... Also I do this as well and is nice for taking out tanks. I put Master of Ordinance in my army and throw StormTroopers down my enemies throats.
hmm u've got some good points but i still think storm troopers r over priced for they are capable of....and compare to banshee is a fair point but most good eldar player would ave a fareer backing the banshee up with doom. which the guards dont ave =(. i tend to find that sticking storm troopers in valkyrie as a objective grabbers on the last round, fly flat out and grav chute insertion on the objective with re-rolls tend to work well or even deep strike and blast anything holding the objective.
i'm thinking of getting a load of strom troopers. what do you think is better, the cadian kasrkins or the others? i might go for kasrkin. but on your vid, pretty awesome ideas there, everything i plan to do
@TenaciousD872 yes they do, i like the others for the opposite reaseon lol. im almost always deep striking them and the other models fit the airborne look a bit better but if im deploying them in a chimera or outflanking then ill use the kasrkins
wounding space marines on 5's isn't very good it's best to deep strike them in squads of five 2 of them having melta guns because they have re-rollable deep strike. and your not always going to fight space marines with your ap 3 storm troopers and if your enemy is within 12 inch range then ur only getting on rapid fire before they get assaulted and die unless they get really lucky but thats just dice luck
Stormtroopers don't belong in Valks...melta vets do that job. Let the stormtroopers do their job of being gutsy, falling from the sky with Icarus grav packs and stick meltas up the back side of enemy armour (or infiltrating and doing the same). You can also use them as suggested for gunning down marines (who have the same points cost and will actually loose a protracted firefight) or infiltrating. Riding in a valkyrie...melta vets..Advantage of them being scoring as well..
infiltrate gives outflank too, and with the Behind Enemy Lines choice they have infiltrate and pinning, so if you're going to outflank I would take BEL before Recon, as Move Through Cover isn't anywhere near as good as pinning.
Howling banshees are bad and aren't worth their points.

I'd go
6 squad w/ 1 melta or flamer but no special sgt
8 squad w/ meltabombs for a real tough tankkiller
10 squad w/ 2 plasma
Not putting assault weapons in there makes them pretty cheap, but meltabombs is a cheaper, more reliable way to kill vehicles. The plasma has better range rapidfire and ap2 for termies, but needs a 10 man squad for ensurance that your investment will get more than one round of shooting.

what are better stormtroopers or kaskrins?
coolhaloboy360 6 months ago
@coolhaloboy360 Kaskins are the equilvalent of storm troopers. Kaskins are Cadia's elite. They are the Cadian Stormtroopers.
ODSTHenry520 5 months ago
@ODSTHenry520 thanks
but my friend told me that kashkrins have less special rules than storm-troopers and are not worth their points
is this true?

if you want ap3 use a leman russ, in terms of value for money vets beat stormtroopers hands down.

I prefer using my kasrkin as vets with 3 meltas in a chimera, deep strike is very tempting but the points...
