It just goes to show you that you don't need a highend cpu to run a game like this. If this person is running this game this good with an old Athlon 64 X2 4000+ then any modern budget cpu for under 100 bucks with a solid GPU can run this setting.

@SteelCity1981 the thing is that only the first level runs smooth then the rest of the game will be laggy i have 2 4850s and a quad and i cant run the harbor level with out lag. first level i have an fps around 59 fps 1280x1024 no AA on the harbor level 8-24. meny people can only run the first level smooth the rest of the game is a slideshow.

its a pritty compatable card yr system is almost like mine but i cant get very high and my screen is a 1280*1024 i would guess yours would run it at probs 20-25-30 depending on the map, but on mine at high it rearly goes down to 30fps probs only in big fire fights most of the time its 40-45-50

64 X2 IS very old technology if you compare it to the actual CPU's. Core 2 Duo is a bit newer and better. The E8400-E8600 CPU's are now mainstream, so there are many people who are overclocking them. If you have an X2 6000+, OK, but its not good at all. But then, every card that is more powerfull than the 4850 will be bottlenecked by the CPU.

I'm not overclocking, I never have any money (only 15), I overclocked my Celeron D, but that was needed, then I changed it with my Q6700.

But I have a HD 2600XT from Sapphire (512MB GDDR3) at the moment.

I run Crysis about 28FPS (very playable) (I play in DX9), Texture High, Souncd & Volumetric Low, Particles Low, Post Low, Game Effects High everything else medium.

in DX10 I can still play at Very High (the texture Particles and Post at medium) on about 25FPS.

yea you will run it on high with a resolution of 1680x1050 with ease, so dont worry. i got quite a similiar rig as you buy with a 4870 instead

If you're running VIsta then i recommend putting all settings on HIGH on 1280x1024 (you can do AA if you wanna, but its gonna cost about 3-10 fps). you can put post processing and motion blur at very high if you want some added effects.

With these settings. you can play most stages on crysis with the minimal playable settings (30+fps) But theres a tank stage on crysis which is a real fps killer.

theres a mod called Cuban's *something something* ( i forgot the name) that lets you increase fps

@marfg12345 a 4670 isn't a horrible card, but I don't think it handles Crysis very well my friend. It definately isnt' on par with this card. However, I believe you could probably do Medium and run just fine. However, dont' take my word for it, look up some videos of the card running Crysis. Cheers!

download riva turner, in the settings you can set the fan to any % you want, when I play games i set it to 75--80%, it keeps the gpu cooler, also what psu do you have? i had a 400w psu that met the requirements but my game would crash a lot, when I bought a 500w psu it stopped happening.

You can play it very well, in fact you should be able to run with a constant 30+ FPS at 1920x1200. If you download the CCC mod over at the Crymod forums, you can enable Very High on XP.
