I acknowledge that the LDS provides a strong moral framework but I have to raise my concern that anyone who is having alcohol, gambling or any other serious addiction problems needs to seek professional help. LDS missionaries are well meaning individuals, but they are not qualified to treat addiction.
The same applies to someone seeking help from their Bishop. The training and experience will be highly variable.
The LDS in the UK does offer a professional counselling service.
Coming from a family who recently joined (we were investigating for around a year), we are looking forward to hearing your testimony about how you found the church.
@kichigaino I just left the church after being an always active, life long, mission serving, member for 30 years +. I wanted to believe it was true also. The problem is, you can prove it false 10 different ways now that I opened my eyes. You can see some of those ways if you watch the video my family made after leaving. it is posted at the top of PerfectTheSaints org Or you can search for it on YouTube. It is called "Why Our Family Left the Mormon Church"
@iilwjcanc That's actually the first question that I address in the video that I mentioned in my first comment. As you have just illustrated, it is usually the first question Mormons ask. If you are truly interested, you should check it out. We made it very respectful and fact based with verifiable information. No junk "Anti-Mormon" arguments. Most all of my friends are Mormon and they have been blown away as I would have been just months ago.
Ah thank God for your faith :) Didn't have time to watch the whole video but checked the first part out (/watch?v=a989OOSOycw&context=C3db83b1ADOEgsToPDskIKGBb4r_tgdvHDHta5dSTx - for any reading! - check it out!)
So encouraging to know you guys are going strong with Jesus. All glory to Him. Will pray for your family this evening.
Love (from Britain/or next-door in the kingdom, depending on how you look at it!)
@ptyler3 I appreciate it, but I won't be watching your video. After checking out several different religions, and being agnostic for a while, we decided that the LDS church most accurately reflected our views.
I spent many years trying to turn people from their faith, trying to passionately impress reason on anyone who would listen. Now I understand that I don't have the power to change anyone's views, and it's best to let people enjoy their lives however they see fit, regardless of their views
@kichigaino I can sertainly respect that. I have no desire to make someone do what they don't want to based on facts. It's the people that would leave if they knew the truth, like me, that I am trying to help. It may surprise you that at least 8 other people, other than my family, have left the church because of the video we made, which has only been out for three weeks or so. There may be more that we don't know about. I am mearly "thrusting in my cycle" as D&C 4 would say.
the church of jesus christ of latter-day saints is true

which I would not see that mormonism got to set a foot inside Russia, or any other country for that matter.

you are a mormon because you prayed about if the LDS church is from God or not.
also bashing the ones that leave the LDS church is stupid, that is what cults do. the ones that leave must look bad in order to the rest look good.
this is also important as Mormons cannot be together with their friend or family member in the same way as before.
the LDS church is just an American religion made to control people, make money and send the members to hell.

That's great... have you become an atheist, or turned to the mainstream Christian faith
