Bloodfire Colossus has an activated ability, once it's activated, it goes to stack and other players may respond to it.

Combat Damage (Damage dealt with attacking creatures during Combat Damage Step) doesn't go to stack anymore so players may not respond to it, but they can do everything they want during the end of the blocker step after the blockers have been declared.

I don't have a good view of the board but for the record you can't tap an attacking creature for it's ability, you already tapped it to attack. Plus, Trample doesn't double damage, yoer thinking double strike DUH

aaahhhh... magic is not an easy game when large quantities of beer are mixed with counters and abilities... the great thing about this video is that we all can totally relate to moments like this.
