  • She didn't quit she finished for the day and the boss was being horrible to the kid because she was flirting with him and not the boss

  • Did he just get that bitch fired im already hating this kid

  • @ahdeath2007 No, she chose to quit because she liked him.

  • he started with adding 1 what about 0 i bet its 0

  • nice happy ending

  • the number allways start by 0033558, hr forgot the 5

  • These 13 minutes stirred more emotions than 5 full-length feature films put together. Well done mister Alex Winckler.

  • Ehhh.. seen this before

  • loved it

  • Ralph is a playa, he got that chick in like 10 min.

    Good story, better ending

  • Great acting, great plot as dahaxar92 said: 'didn't want it to end'

  • Beautiful.

  • ralph is hott!

  • aww he's such a cute character, Ralph. Loved it!!

  • wrong aspect ratio! future shorts plese reupload!

  • hah bagus yak filmnya

  • sure would've sucked if he didn't meet that waitress.

  • It's so nice.... i love it

  • Its nice to see the "hood" but it gets boring after a while.

  • slow start. great ending. every ending whether it is to a play, book, or movie, should keep you thinking

  • Niiiice

  • I hope he finds the french girl :(

  • Great film! Very French in style, just simple. Love the chips thing; typically English with the Barman going "just chips?", lol. @djpj1111 Half Life 2 was the last thing on my mind.

  • aspect ratio wrong?

  • this film plays on an instinctual fear of French people. But that guy is no way 16. And piece has a rushed feel to it. :P

  • My mother tongue is french and I remarked that most anglophones I met do not really try to speak other languages when they go in other countries. I do not blame them, it's just a remark from my own experience

  • too short

  • AMAZING MOVIE by the way !!!!!

  • Claire.

  • silly children.

  • That was really nice.

  • they come in twos always go for their sister

  • real... nice

  • incredible

  • HE has a kiss from a hot girl...i want that.

  • Are the French known for being rude? Yes, I'm an American & well, we were treated pretty badly when my family and I were in Paris. I was shocked by how rude some of the Parisians were and I really can't remember anything we did to provoke them to be such...jerks. Now overall I found the whole experience quite interesting, interesting because I actually felt the hatred one can have for Americans....it's understandable. I just wish they gave us the benefit of the doubt. We're the good ones...

  • @melikeagua

    "We're the good ones... "

And that's where all your problems begin.

  • @quakeUku i had a feeling someone was going to comment on that. So it doesn't matter if you're an asshole american or not.....

  • @melikeagua

well, that's the essence of prejudices. it's not about who you are but what they think who you are and since they don't know you they base their opinion on stereotypes. American stereotype is one of the worst and most hated of them all. It might not have anything to do with its people even, the country itself and its politics might be a reason enough. Nothing too revolutionary innit, just annoying and unpleasant. Happens everywhere.

  • @quakeUku hmm well i knew that all along, which is why i found it interesting to have finally experienced that. i guess i'm looking way to deep into it....out of the 5 european countries i visited last october, France was the only one that wasn't too pleasant and i'm assuming it's because of the head budding between our countries over the years. it is what it is.

  • I wonder how a frenchemen would be treated if he was to speak french in, let's say, Texas for exemple ??

no need to answer, we both know the answer !!

and by you saying "we are the good one" whereas we both know the reason for last breakdown between France and the Usa was going to an unjustified war (and i am not saying it was not necessary i am saying it was not JUSTIFIED), I wonder what message you are trying to pass on ??

  • @troir i'm not sure if u understood what i meant by "we are the good ones." it was meant between those in my family, being that we wanted to travel the world and have a deeper respect for other cultures. I didn't mean that America is the good one and France is bad. I agree with the French that this war is unjustified and i guess i've answered my own question when i realized it is what it is. There's a bitterness between America & France & I shouldn't have expected there not to be one. thats it.

  • @melikeagua

Sorry for the tone used : a little bit bitter indeed !!

As you said, we have too much hope that it will be the other which will make the first step. And the war put aside, as a frenchmen who can speak english, I ve seen with my own eye the difference between speaking french or speaking english to an englishmen : he will react in two totally different manners, which i consider normal. The least we can do when travelling abroad is to learn how to say "hello" and "excuse me"

  • @troir no worries. i forget to realize that it happens in the United States ALL the time. To step foot in another country & finally become the clueless visitor for once; it's a new thing for me & I try to make sense of it. It's helped me see things in a different perspective, even with this little conversation. From the countries i visited, 3 were German speaking countries, i know a good amount of the language so it made those trips easier. thanks for your responses. btw, I LOVE THIS FILM.

  • @melikeagua

    great movie indeed !!

  • @melikeagua - They hate our Freedoms! Hahahahaha.....

  • @audadvnc behind our "freedoms" is a lot of BS though =|

  • good job son!

impossible for such a thing to happen, but good on you

bloody english skinhead geezer pull an older, more sophisticated waitress in a cafe... it doesnt happen, trust me!

  • interesting.

  • The sheer idiocy of a teenager.

  • I need to see more! This could make for an awesome movie, yeah?

  • @MireilleeL I think it actually would make a good movie

  • @hmanham - but... it DID make a good movie!

  • @audadvnc lol =)

  • Well, don't go to a different country alone....

  • best one ever!

  • didnt want it to end ;)

  • aaaaaaaaaaaww =)

  • one of your best ones, i really liked that one!! ♥

  • AWESOME job guyz... i really enjoy this kind of films..

  • Who else instantly remembered Half-Life 2 in the first shot?

  • @djpj1111 shoot, now I wanna go play it. :D

  • @djpj1111 hehe true :D "Welcome. Welcome to City 17..."

  • @djpj1111 the radio chatter was surprising similar.

  • @djpj1111 Me.

  • Well THAT was awfully convenient -_-

  • pimp game

  • Such a relatable story... It really hits me. I feel the same about one of my best friends.

  • I'm not familiar with France but is that a pretty well known spot at 3:16? I've seen a couple of movies filmed there. Is it supposed to be a bad part of town? Just wondering if that's what its suggesting with all the tagging.

  • 16 year old Ralph is a bit of a twat, but you can't help feeling a little sympathy.

  • I like it, yes a little slow but that is life.

He made the right choice, waitress was willing to show him around, she knew why he was there and she was still ready to go.

Great story, I want to know what happens next.

  • Love it!

  • that was great

    well done

  • Argh, why are people complaining about the smallest detail that's insignificant to the outcome of the story? He doesn't have a cellphone. So what? You shouldn't get distracted by that detail because it doesn't remove anything from the overall story.

Anyway, I looooooved this :) Setting is soo beautiful. Ralph is adorable.

  • @JessicaIsWhack I agree. Cell phones and facebook, etc. take away from the romance of finding someone. We're all too accessible now, it's not tragic and romantic enough anymore.

  • thanks :) beautiful story

  • this is even more boring than shit.

my curiosity needs to be satisfied, and amplified... this is worse than wanking off with the left hand.

  • Run for your love, Ralph!

  • This came out in 2008. Everyone that age has a mobile, no one uses pay phones like that these days. Didn't ring true to me because of that. Also the main character is an idiot.

  • hahha love it!!!

  • You d'awww, you lose.

    I lost.

  • A very sweet story. No awards for the acting though. In my imaginary sequel he ends up with the waitress.

  • god dang... this is good shit.

  • Aww, that made me smile.

  • oh god...the french girl is so pretty :)

  • This Makes Me Sad......... But Its Good :)

  • excellent ! I would have liked a wee bit more resolution at the end, like maybe a shot of her looking back at him over her shoulder..freeze frame.....just enough ambiguity, and resolution..

  • what a gaylord

  • this is clare... and she's... the waitress.

    heartbreak!

  • Great, eu senti-me como Ralph quando os franceses conversavam, but i think i can understand something it...

  • thats it..... what happens then

  • very european. loved it

  • @Tolstoievsky we know :) we are the best :)

  • I have to argue that he CAN act...like any 16 year old boy...c'mon guys, you all knew you were awkward like that.

  • well done, i really enjoy

  • very uplifting

  • Lovely story :)

  • Heartwarming, to say the least.

  • tre bien

  • kids are so effing fickle ;)

this is GREAT. beautifully shot <3

  • i really liked this

  • Nice Job

  • Awww poor wittle guy :P

  • really liked it. Thats happened to lots of us, and its great watching him get over it. acting wasn't great though.

  • Poor guy :(

  • Cute :D

  • Quite pointless and rather boring.

Wait...is this the story of a tosser? That would have been fun, but I guess this is all too serious....

And, for the record, minging English lads who can't speak a word of French do not appeal to pretty French girls in real life!

  • That was absolutely beautiful! I loved it!

  • tres bien !!

    very VERY good.

just been to Paris and know this EXACT feeling :]

  • chips in french are potato chips if he wanted fries there called frites.

  • i liked it, i would liked to see subtitles for the French but it didn't matter really, body language is universal :D

  • grandioso, really great.

  • really nice! i was glued to it from start to finnish!

  • Yeah, Sweat .... FUCKING BASTERDS

  • OHHH...

I have bunnies and butterflies in my stomach.

(some of the bunnies are eating some of the butterflies)

  • Very sweet - I hope he finds his waitress.

  • AWESOME

  • weird.. but it's good.

  • Blah, it seems illogical - why didn't he look for an Internet point? The setting seems to be 10+ years too late. Otherwise a good story but this little nuance started to distract :(

  • Comment removed

  • very good

  • wow, restaurant manager is a bitch, first he tells the boy to relax then he says that she fell and it was her own fault, then to clean the mess she made.

  • this is relly good

  • I don't get it

  • @PolTehPwnage He goes to Marseilles to say he loves Claire, then meets the waitress and she flirts with him and leaves. He then realises Claire has some boyfriend in Marseilles (Lorenzo), and realises he's got no chance with her and/or he prefers the waitress, so runs off to find her.

    :D

  • @CrescentStudios

    Ohhh...

    Thanks, Crescent!

  • that was good

  • I loved it

  • Cute!

  • well... call me later

  • that was cute. :)

  • too bad i don't understand french, but i guess that's a part of it

  • boring but sweet

  • One of the best pieces of film I've seen from futureshorts :)

  • oh l'amour

  • Comment removed

  • it started slow but it was really good.

  • i dont know, it realy dont convense me , lets gone say , that is fine

  • Good job.

    *SPOILERS*

Just, at the the she say's 'call me later' and he still doesn't have her number. XD

  • @LogicalMadness That's the point...he is giving her the kiss off.

  • @FuchsiaRose09 I know, but why would she ask him to call her, without giving him her number. Just pointing it out.

  • @LogicalMadness I think that was the point. He gave up on her and had no intention of calling after he realized he was chasing after the wrong thing.

  • @LogicalMadness Actually, one of the numbers he called was the right one. She says "The housekeeper said some English bloke called" or something like that. Though I suppose he doesn't know exactly which number he called was the right one...

  • @msampson3d Good point, I didn't think of that. But like you said, still. :/
