@BENJItrailNPxL1100 Yeah I know, had I been by the camera it would have been possible, but I was to the side so they weren't behind each other for me.
@blackdiamond211 I have them where I live but they are pretty smart and leave me alone most of the time cowbirds (no not the big white birds that are by cows those are cattle egrets) and great tailed and common grackles come and steal dog food so i shoot a lot.
Pest birds have driven out many of the native birds in our area. Starlings are classed as pests and we spend a lot of time trying to reduce them. Seems to work as the native songbirds are coming back.
I need help. So i have no trouble baiting Starlings in the winter, but i can't get them to come in during spring/summer. Do you have any baiting tips that could help? Thanks.
Nice, dude. I'm really into firearms, but only recently started looking into pellet guns due to the bluejays in my neighborhood killing my doves. Gotta stop those bastards!
i have the rws model 34p got it at cableas in the bargin cave for 140 bucks. very nice gun shoots very well kill starlings 50 yards no problem have a center point 4-16 scope it on it. killer. TOby steve
Great shot!! and there are people out there with no understanding of what starlings are doing to our native cavity nesting birds. The problem is starlings use numbers to decimate an antire nesting area and evict other cavity nesters. This is why our songbird populations are seeing 30-40% reduction in numbers where large starling populations exist. Do some research and come to your own conclusion, don't just take a stand without knowing what these birds do just use google it's easy and fun too.
headshot? i am wanting this rifle, cheap accurate, and apparently very good overall. i kinda want the .22 which would you reccomend? but the .22 only has 800 fps
Kill em all! I'm a Blueberry farmer and the only way of protecting my crop is to shoot these birds. They're voracious feeders and can render a large (50acre) field unmarketable in a few days. To reiterate....KILL 'EM ALL
Song birds? These were introduced in North America, they're not even supposed to be here, and they're not song birds, they're pests, have you seen the damage these guys can do?
Not suppoosed to be here? Then you aren't either, since your ancestors came here by boat or plane. I know they are pests, but I feel it does not justify shooting one you see just for the fun of it.
Yes I am not native here, but The Human species has always been ehre so I have every right to be here.
Starlings do not have any natural predators here, that's why, after only a few decades, they have taken over most of North America. They are invading other birds' (songbirds) territory and killing their young.
What would you rather want, me killing these pests or the pests killing the real songbirds?
They do pester me, by killing all the good songbirds from my area. I did not shoot him for entertainment, I shot him and a few others in an attempt to lower their numbers in my area, to support songbird population in said area.
I just happened to catch this one on Camera, so I put it up here, to try and encourage other people to also help and eliminate, or at least control, this pest.
Actually, it's a positive thing when explained to Children that there is a balance to nature. Sometimes she can't maintain said balance on her own.
The only negative here is you blind ignorance to the subject. yet you continually spout your linear thinking on a subject you clearing have no understanding.
But your mindset is "guns are bad and shooting things are bad therefore this video is bad"
lol he has no negative influence on kids i take my little cousins out to shoot these guys all the time and they have a blast, know what the best part is? one im helping lower their populations and 2 there is absolutely nothing you can do about that
Did it entertain you??? Were you there when it was shot??? What do you know about pest control??? I love prejudice people who rush to inform the world of their opinion when they don't know all the facts.
They are an invasive species, and if not kept in check they can wreak havoc. The Ministry of the enviroment has put them in the schedule C species, meaning they can be shot at any time. If you find pest control entertaining maybe you should switch jobs.
These birds ruin crops and kill other birds in an area, they knock the eggs out of nests and take it over. They are a pestilence and need to be controlled. Maybe I should film a video of the rat trap I have set up for controlling magpies which are another feral bird in BC. Feral animals destroy the natural fauna in an area and need to be controlled and any one who denies this is either stupid or blind.
Great shoot!!!! ? do you know any thing about the rws diana commemorate 34 rifle? my boss just gave me one he had it in the guy safe for 20 years it has a medalion on the but stock that says 1890-1990 and it reads 100JAHRE, any info on this rifle would realy help, dan
I don't know a lot, but from what I heard is it's basically the same as the Model 34 with a higher quality stock. They were only made in 1990 because of the 100th anniversary of Diana.
lol, you killed the one in the back instead of the one that was in front of him that's survival of the fittest right there. what are the odds? good shootin
Good job, I have a walther falcon hunter using spitz kugeln diablos 24.85 grains with leapers 4x16x50 scope it knocks down pest birds all the way to raccoons one shot one kill. I am getting dime sized groups at 25 yards which means house sparrows are easy targets
I traded the walther for a hill handpump and I purchased an airforce condor with the nikko diamond and the birds were starting to stay back too far for my springer to be reliable so now I'm using the pcp.
ILuvBorderCollies: Watch the YouTube video "Starling Attack in a Purple Martin Nest." Read the comments. That should help explain why people shoot Starlings.
One? How about a couple of hundred? My chicken food and rabbit food and dog food are disappearing at amazing speed!

pyrotek13579 2 years ago
Neck area I think.
And yes I definetly reccomend this rifle, it's a beauty and once ya understand the proper hold, it'll shoot well too.
The .22 will have more energy, but the pellet will drop faster because of the slower speed.
Mine is a .177 and I am happy with it, I don't think it really matters which caliber you get because it's very close to the same thing anyways.
