  • @Irishshuttler098 Well i would suggest that you used another string like Yonex BG 80 or BG 66 TI.

They are way better than ashaway.

  • @warlockboyburns u just saw....

  • @4EverRegret that wasnt from the beginning

  • HOLY COW! 41 lbs!?!?!?!?

  • What ARE you listening to?

  • 41 lb??? wth...

  • can u mix colour string ????

  • @farid439 it's all one string

  • may i ask if u string the racket at 28 lbs. to 30 lbs.does is suppose to make the racket control the shuttle more ?

  • @40calfmj yes, tighter= more control, looser = more strength

  • @orochiThing only partially right - a tighter string gives you more max. power. although you have to swing the racket _very_ fast to get the max out of a 30lbs string job... for example, smash record holder Fu Haifeng uses about 32 lbs (now).

  • @Yondaime3490 looser the string, the more trampoline effect you get. And don't forget, all professionals use rackets with a 30+ string tension. At the very end, it's who can hit the hardest, with the best form, and closest to the sweet spot.

  • @orochiThing yeah it is, but if looser tension gives you more power - wouldnt every pro play with loose tension? i agree, for beginners, looser=more power, but the max. power is limited. thats why better players string harder, it gives you more power if you swing fast. the higher the tension, the faster you have to swing.

PS: not all pros use 30+ ;) although 32/33 is pretty common.

  • @Yondaime3490 thats not true. I dont want to say all pros, but all pros naturally hit hard. They practice for years and years. Plus they have a form that allows them to hit the birdy at there max potential. Therefore they dont need a racket based on strength, They get a tighter string tension because it gives them more control. In higher leagues, it doesnt matter how hard you hit cause chances are the opponent can take it. But its better for you to know where to place it and perform too.

  • @orochiThing It _is_ true. Its similar to a slingshot - if you have a loosely tensioned string, its easy to pull, but the max. power is limited. The harder the string gets, the harder it is to pull, but the more max. power it has. Ever wondered why the big hitters like FHF and TBH have higher tensions than more placement-oriented players? Look at the TBH 'smash record' vid and listen to the sound his string makes. Does that sound like low tension? And yet hes obviously going for max power there.

  • @Yondaime3490 I don't want to here a comparison with sound of a birdie being smashed. I can make the exact same sound with my 21-23 racket but the speed won't be faster. Not because my rackets weak because I'm not a league player. I've had a racket thats a 30 tension and my current one thats 21-23. And i know the difference it takes and the strength i have to put in each of them. I can clear cross court with a tap of my 21-23 but i had to put more effort and swing into my 30 tension racketet.

  • @orochiThing Yeah, thats normal. Your right about lower tension giving more power to slow movements, but the maximum speed you can reach is limited. For most people, the limit of a 22x24lbs racket is sufficient, but some need more. Many are okay with the max. power, but want the increased touch of a higher tension - like me. I need like 22x24 to get maximum power for my smash, but string at 23x25/24x26 for increased feel. Look at badmintoncentral . com for more information on this.

  • @Yondaime3490 i understand what your saying but your not specific enough. If low string tension helps give maximum strength to low movement, whats that say about fast movement with a low tension. When you say 26 tension for more feel, it also sounds like a higher tension for more control. Which is what i started out argueing with.

  • @orochiThing To be clear: a low string tension gives you more power than a higher tension when you swing slow. The loose tension limits the power you get with fast swings though. The tighter the string, the higher the max. power for really fast swings (smash) is, but the other shots require faster movements as well. I would probably get the fastest smash with 23lbs, but prefer 24-26 as it increases my control. It makes clears and lifts harder&more tiring though. As I said, look at the forum.

  • @Yondaime3490 well, like i said earlier. I had to hit until my arm fell off with a 30+ but can do it with ease now with a 21-23 to clear. I've actually tried the difference and believe what I've tested more than what others say.

  • @orochiThing Well, do you have the armswing&wrist action of a professional player? It's highly unlikely that more than 100 ppl on badmintoncentral lie about the same thing. As you are probably an intermediate player, you wont get more power out of high tension, just as I wont. A professional on the other hand would, and would have the technical ability to make his other shots (drives, clears,...) fast enough without spending too much effort.

  • @Yondaime3490 I wouldn't know. A lot of players that play at tournaments actively say i smash really hard. But through my eyes it doesn't look that fast. I'd only know if i recorded myself and looked at it through the side. I've noticed in my years of observation that a smash looks the quickest behind some and not so much in front. Right now I'm really thinking of sacrificing that strength for more control, (hence my higher string tension theory) I'll go ask at the club when i get the chance.

  • Good stuff! I'm using the mutual power Titan and the tennis head. 33x35 for me :) although Pete went crazy on my machine before and tried 36x39.5 with the 10% prestretch enabled -_-"

  • 22 lbs

  • If possible.... don't learn from this!!

  • that is hard, The hardest i do a racket was 26 lbs

  • Master NGP,

Impressive job, and I'm liking your product... I will hit up Master Pete to buy a few :D

    I do have one question...
