  • dude thx a lot, ur video really helped me ^^

  • hey can some one help me i am just starting to learn how to play guitar i whant to know what strings is best for heavy medal i need to know what gauge is best and like the light or medium PLEASE i need help thanks :)

  • @TheChainsaw65 string gauge is pretty much just preference, but if you want a heavier sound than get a heavier string gauge.

  • @TheChainsaw65 If your gonna do a lot of detuning i suggest ernie ball beefy slinkies, but those are heavy gauge and hard to learn on, they will only set you back so if you want to make things easy, start out with super slinky, and in a few months move on to regular slinky, and in another few months move onto beefy slinkies! good luck!

  • nice doritos bag dude lol

  • @79stevie b you should be fine.i use 10s from elixir im sure your sound will be good your tone may be off a little but nothing that will throw you off.

  • Dude, you report on your channel that you have a Line 6 Spider, the first series, 2x12 combo amp. More what is this amp? is which version of the Line? is the second? if you like send me a link with photo of the amp I appreciate it! thx dude.

  • Hey what amp do you have and with what pedal? thanks

  • ur da master!!!

  • how can i tune my guitar one and a quarter step down?

  • are all the strings tuned down?

  • you demon, good lesson man !!

  • I'm not one to critique another guitarist but you're bending that F too much. It's difficult to get that 1/8 bend since not many other songs use it. It took me a solid week of breaking myself of the habit before I could do it. This is the only video I've seen of yours that I've heard something off (the others are amazing) so I don't mean to sound too negative.

  • @Madams1977 i think is 1/4 bend

  • thanks heaps

  • TOCAS DEL PUCTAS.. PERO LO PODRIAS TRADUCIR A ESPAÑOL PARA ENTENDER..

  • thanks bro your badass, keep rockin'

  • Hey!!! Does anybody Else See anything wrong here... About 2;53 seconds into your Video... Its not 3 to 1 to 0 its backwards... 3to 2 to 0 Minor scales Buddy

  • i think cowboys from hell was way easyer, thanks for helping me with that man!

  • too much bendy... more subtle

  • ya dude thats way to high

  • i think it sounds better in drop d

  • thx bro very helpful

  • isnt this in drop d tuning?, thats how i learnt the main riff

  • very very good lesson man........thnx again for da helpcuz i had been lookin for a lesson for walk for a very long tym nd urs was definitely da best!!!!

    keep it metal \m/

  • That is the most goddamn annoying tuning to get to.

    Awesome lesson though!

  • that's great man,but i think that is easier in drop d tuning,anyway \m/ O.o

  • what Pedal Are you using ? one of my only Pedal that came with a Shitload of Effects with distortion so now im trying to get another one ...

  • CEMETERY GATES!!!

  • You´re the best teacher and guitarplayer ever :)

  • lol doritos bag in background

  • @TheF1KuRt yeah i do it u jus hear slightly more of the bend

  • look what you do for 1/4 step down tuning is "calibrate" your guitar to "434" then tune you guitar to "E standard"

  • what are your amp settings??

  • ay dude can u do the art of shredding lesson by pantera ? ... thankx.

  • u blow

  • I have a question. What would you tune the other 5 strings to? (in half steps)

  • haha, I remember I watched one of this dude's videos, it was the one where he was giving a "Cowboys from Hell" lesson, and I really didn't like it, then I needed help on the "Walk" solo, so I searched for lessons, and I clicked on this one without reading the uploader's name, and when I found out it was him, I was like, "Oh great, this guy again".

  • what kind of chorus do you use?

  • you kinda sound lke mick thomson lol

  • @SPYDDET slipknot ftw

  • ohhhh Doritos

  • Wow what amp and guitar are using? :D tone is amazing!

  • What kind of set up are you using? What gear to you have?

  • if dimebag was still alive id ask him''dude? why did you tune your guitars so awcwardly? but i'lljust have to buy a realy good tuner

  • you should give us a lesson of the solo!

  • its called a quarter step mate

  • i find it eaisier to [puch the string up rather than down because i can have the riythem folowing at the into :) (but thats just me)

  • 0:40 bag of doritos behind him

  • i learned a different version in drop d?

  • @SlipknotFan555666555 no u didnt

  • what size strings do you use because I have a big problem with my guitar going out of tune in a few minutes when I tune down to D or E# and yours always sounds so perfect!

  • @Electrons that has nothing to do with the size of your strings bro.if your axe is going out of tune when you drop tune.you may have a problem with your tunners.they may need to be tightened plus you should check your neck every now and then to see if it needs adjusting.sync wood has a tendency to warp when it is exposed to different temp changes.you may need a trust rod adjustment you can usually find someone to set up your axe for about 50-70$ depending on the style.hope this helps.

  • thats badass guitar playin

  • My husband says thankyou!!!!!!!

  • I know how to play this and most of the songs you make lessons for and when i was a beginner they helped alot. But now i only watch your vids cause of your dark scary tone. :D

  • yeah master lml

  • you should do ozzy

  • You sure demostrate it, but when you're playing it, doesn't it sound like a bend? And if you compare it to the original I would say you're bending (or pre-bending) more than the half step necessary. (Just a little bit, not that much)

Anyway I'm not criticizing you, just saying what I'm hearing. Just don't listen to me ^_^.

  • You're performing the main riff wrong. The D# note on the low D string i'ts a PRE-BEND not a normal bend.

  • @Nightmaroid i didnt no u were giving the lesson if u no the song why r u watching bucko

  • @Nightmaroid how could you possibly be that stupid

  • @Nightmaroid Smoke another one dude!

  • Eh.. I don't really get this one. The way I play Walk when I look at tabs is how its written. You play the 1b first then the open notes? like, first it'd be the 1b then release then 1 then 0 0? something like that?

  • Dude i love your video i actually learn something from them, But can you please do the solo?

  • can you tell me the mark of your guitr plese :)

  • your lessons are cool but show or tell what ur doin with ur pick hand.thanks.getch your pull.rip dime

  • When I play this i never really bend te main riff to much, its more of a shaking kinda. Not finding the right words to discribe it but its def not a bent note like that. Its more feel than anything else. I love this song.

  • all i had to do was drop it by ear, and i found the tuning. very nice btw.

  • Don't bend so much. A bend isn't just a cool effect. It chances the note to a different note which you are overshooting every time.

  • The hole thing sounds good but the main riff theres something missing. I dont know what it is but it just doesnt sound like the song. It sounds close to it i gotta say but not quite there.

  • i love your vids just wish that you put the solos in

  • People try drop d or drop c tuning

  • what distortion do you use????

  • thx mattster =D

  • "chunky, deepy deep sound." LOL, dude, you're great at instructional videos. Keep it up, I love watching these

  • no solo

  • wait could you do the solo please ???

  • wow. good job. one of the few people who actually play the song right. A+

  • Great! need more vids like this who explains it all.

  • Every vid i see from this fuy is great. i learn a lot from him

  • Great work Matt, you're a good teacher...one of the best on here. I've only been playing for 8 months and you've make me sound like a freakin expert. Even surprising myself.

  • You got a badass tone

  • Thank you so much!

  • Is it only the E-string who will be tuned to 450?

  • your tuning is

    e

    b

    g

    d

    a

    d

    1/4 down??

  • @Pedroj66

    NO, D-G-C-F-A-D and 1/4

  • so all strings is tuned to 450 im a beginner and this seems like an easy song and idk what to do haha.

  • @m169marroquin standard D 1/4 down ? :)

  • @GigoTheDoctor yeah 1 and ¼ steps down.

  • @m169marroquin hey men can u give me the tunning? no the name of the tunning only the letters (DGC...etc.) please

  • @criticon0078 D G C F A D

  • @Pedroj66 e is normal ytunning

  • thank you for the help it sounds a whole lot better and cooler lol

  • Didn't Dimebag tune his strings 1/4 lower? I think for walk he tuned 1 1/4 lower.

  • at 450hz ish, its the same thing

  • Oh. :)

  • Very complete tabs and lesson.

    Thank you!!

  • Are my 0.10 Strings thick enough for a C# Tuning like that?

  • i got my .10's down to an A, so i think yours could handle C#

  • the low e string or the high e string?

  • my low e is down to an A, so my high e is at a B

  • bro im subbing to you, you make the only good how to play pantera videos on youtube. thanks a lot

  • dude, i subbed to you, you helped me so much.

  • Damn dude u are awsome good job 5 stars. Most people go way to fast when they teach u dont thanks

  • What affects do you have on dude? Pedals? Damn, sounds so much like Dime.

  • dude, i love ur videos. Great for begginiers such as myslef. JUST FANTASTIC VIDEOS!!! very help ful

  • ok please help..my guitar sounds nothing like this i dunno if its my amp or guitar im new at this and wanna learn so help and please respond lol

  • i'm trying to get a tuner, but i don't know how much they cost, and i don't know if i have enough.....how much is an average tuner?

  • It's tuned a whole step down (D,G,C,F,A,D). Get the Riffer Madness book, it tells you all that stuff.

  • @metalgod91zb - It's 1 and 1/4 steps down. So you can either set your tuner to 1 and a half steps down and go up 10-15. Or set your tuner to a whole step and go down 10-15.

  • asshole shut up

  • Fuck you dickhead, I was only stating what I read.

  • nice bin!......

  • you do realize you can use wire cutters to clip the extra string? looks much cleaner

  • the other way is probably in drop D. play it how you want to just know this way is more accurate. dime tuned to standard tuning not drop tuning. just match your open note with an open note on the record or song and tune the rest of the strings accordingly(standardly)

  • i know how to play this song but its a different way

  • what is 1 1/2 steps down i can't find it on google?

  • you tune your guitar down 1 1/2 steps...like doing a 1 1/2 step bend but you know....tuning down

  • This is in relation to basic notes. For example, your 5th string is tuned to A. To de-tune it 1 1/2 steps would bring it down to a G flat/F sharp (same note). From A down to G is 1 step. From G to F is one step. You don't go all the way to F since that is 2 steps, you stop 1/2 way to the flatted G/sharped F.

  • all the bend is, is really bending to the 2nd fret note (ex. if your in standard tuning then you'd bend the first fretwhich is a F note to where it turns the sound into a F# which is the same as the 2nd fret) so really they're both right

  • If you cant do the bend, try sliding or hammering on from 2 to 1

    it sounds the same :)

  • doesnt matter if its easier it doesnt sound right and if you cant do a bend then you shouldnt be trying to learn this song

  • if you dont know how to bend, you should give up playing period.....

  • oor learn how to play?

  • great lesson

  • This is the best lesson on this song i've seen so far, well done.

  • tu eres el hombre!!!!

oie deberias hacer la de cemetery gates esa rola esta buenicima y pos un saludo y great lesson men!!!! yeah!!

  • jesus!!! thats hard!

  • This is the best lesson I've seen on YouTube yet. I'm going to refer to this video in the future several times I think. =)

  • yeah its easy but uts wrongand i wanna play it how dime plays it not some crapy wrong way

  • its a good lesson but the bend is too far for the main pattern

  • Comment removed

  • badass lesson bro realy helpful

  • Great lesson, thanks. :)

  • xD i do like this /-----0--0--h1b1h0-----/
