I too was troubled by Ron Paul's social conservatism, particularly his stance on abortion. However, I have just discovered a youtube video that has made me feel a lot more comfortable endorsing his campaign. /watch?v=c4luwuLdGwU
like the woman who was invovled wtih the joe vs wade, she ended up turning to the pro-life side because the pro-choice side refused to hear her story and invalidated her, because she wanted to speak about the uglies that do happen with abortion.
One reason, why I won't trust Ron Paul, is because I suspect that he's a Mason/Illuminati member. Pretending to oppose people like Obama and Bush, when he's very much their buddies. Don't trust any candidate.
00:31 - Yes, that DOES happen! He's not lying. I've seen videos on YouTube where aborted foetuses still reacted to outside stimuli. I've seen a little fetus react to being touched with a feather. Now, I believe in the right to terminate an unwanted pregnancy, but the other side does have valid points that just can't be dismissed as right-wing propaganda.
@TheMadShangiPWNZU I think that if this does regularly take place that is a definite problem, but I would have to do more research before I just bought into it, as I feel skepticism is always the best route, I would say that if a fetus comes out and is breathing and responsive it should be treated like any premature infant and put for adoption if the parent doesn't want it.
@KrissytheWorldWithin I know from personal experience, meaning I know a person it happened to, that this DOES happen. 7-8 month term abortion, was born crying and moving, and it was left to die (though the person im talking about is now looking to see if anyone saved it 20 some years later)
I can't speak for how "regularly" this happens, but I know at least in one case, it did happen.
@rosskay stories like this is what people liek ron paul take advantage of to take away women's rights, in a similar way neo nazi and white nationalists take advantage of certain anti racist efforts (that really DO have double standards) to promote their views. we have to be willing to listen to these points whether they expose a bad truth or not... because people who experience these things will go to people who listen...
@TheMadShangiPWNZU yes, it does happen, I know it to be true. I think you make a valid point in general about acknowledging other sides even if you are pro choice. for example I acknolwedge the anti porn side that porn depending on exposure, how, and when CAN be harmful to viewers, etc.
@rosskay Yes. Porn can be harmful to viewers. Like porn addiction is a serious thing. A man can become impotent from watching too much porn, unable to relate to normal women because of it.
@rosskay No, I was serious. Some men watch too much porn, that they can't get it up for their girlfriends, because they no longer feel turned on by real women, just the women they see in those porn films.
@TheMadShangiPWNZU I've heard many stories revolving around pornography addiction and early exposure, I was involved for a short time with SAA's efforts. when I tried to express what was going on from that perspective, certain "sex postive" individuals immediately attacked me labeling me a creationist. There is a real problem with people invalidating people's experience on here. you need "evidence" for "everything" I never took a moralistic stance on the porn issue either.
@rosskay I've been looking at the anti-sex and sex-positive feminists on YouTube, and I got to say... some of them are made for each other. I mean, really. Such hypocrites here on YouTube.
@TheMadShangiPWNZU Well, I know it's pricey, but try to stick to single malt scotch, if you do scotch. It'll help you avoid that 'morning after' headache.
@TheMercilessEye Hey hey, play nice guys, I don't want any accusations or shaming on, if shangi has issues with alcohol that's personal and not relevant to the discussion, I won't allow this kind of shaming to anyone, when I see it I don't like it. I don't always catch it but when I do I don't like it.
@TheMadShangiPWNZU@KrissytheWorldWithin Ironically, Shangi has a point, here, Krissy. I've always regarded abortion as wasteful and needlessly cruel, in light of what we have available in terms of contraceptives. The 'Day After Pill' merely enhances this viewpoint. There is no longer any real reason for the performance of abortions, with the tech we have today, barring the occasional rare unforeseen circumstance, of course.
@TheMercilessEye I think that abortion is a decision that is between a woman and her doctor. the problem is that the technology exists to create situation but realities of society aren't there yet, there are many states which ban or make it hard to obtain the morning after pill, in many states you can't get it unless you're 18 or older, many parents won't but it for their daughters so what is a young girl to do if she cannot legally obtain this pill. (cont)
@KrissytheWorldWithin (cont) You are talking about a circumstance which does not exist in most parts of the US or the world. When we get to the point where the plan B pill is available in the same way that condoms are maybe I'll reopen the abortion being "cruel and unnecessary" conversation.
@KrissytheWorldWithin Fair enough. I feel obliged to point out, however, that the late term fetuses extracted with suction devices have little concern with at what point you care to reopen said discussion.
@KrissytheWorldWithin not only that, but mornign after pills are a health risk to many women, such as blood clots, its just a stronger version of the birthcontrol, newer methods of abortion is actually safer than megadosing yourself with synthetic hormones. the argument that there are other options to limit abortion because it can be ugly in the later stages is ridiculous. the option and the choice for abortion should be there for women, always.
@KrissytheWorldWithin That wasn't what I was addressing in my comment. Termination of a pregnancy is always up to the woman and her doctor. No argument there. The issue I was addressing is whether or not the process of performing an abortion is even NECESSARY any longer. In my opinion, it's not. That's all.
At the same time, you couldn't be more right about those atheist libertarians attacking you for your beliefs, but turn a blind eye to Paul's religion, and I find that very ironic on their part.
@Eceoes I'm not quite that hardcore lol, I do want a mini statue of the hindu goddess shiva, in india among many things she is considered the goddess of cannabis and as a cannabis activist i would love to have a statue of shiva watching over me.
@KrissytheWorldWithin Shiva is a male God. And no there is no God of any drug in Hinduism AFAIK. There is a difference between what individual worshippers practice and what the religion generally is like. I think you have mistaken with what certain Sadhus practice. They smoke ganja.
This is one of the best videos about Ron Paul I have seen. For a long time I was arguing against Ron Paul supporters. The sad part that so much of the youth supports Ron Paul, but they don't really know who he is. Paulites (love that term) either don't know or just ignore the fact that he is not only a typical conservative, but he is a social conservative for the most part. Ok, so he didn't support the war with Iraq, that doesn't make him rebellious.
p.s. you girl, you that made this video...shouldn't worried about abortion issue... you are so damn ugly, that there's no chance that some guy would make you pregnant! not for the million years.
I don't think that Ron Paul is really a fundamentalist christian. Evolution is in fact just a theory. So is the big bang. It's fair to say that he is pro-life and that you will not vote for him based on that, but I don't think it's accurate or fair to call him a fundie christian. That's my 2 cents! Personally I like Ron Paul, even if I don't agree with him on every point.
@youngandlesbian it is a theory, but it's not "just a theory". the way he talks about it makes it clear that he doesn't understand how scientific theories work.
I have no idea why I'm subscribed to you. I disagree with Ron Paul on many issues, but I have no sympathy for over-opinionated authoritarian ignoramuses such as yourself. It's amazing how someone who hasn't demonstrated a drop of knowledge of economics or public choice theory so brazenly advocates massive expansion of state power.
@ZuccottiPark Alright, go find Ron Paul and beat him up if it makes you feel any better. He says all life is precious, so here's your chance to prove him wrong.
My father is a Paulite, and we live in Australia! He will call me almost every night and say "you've got to check out this AMAZING video of Dr Ron Paul BRILLIANTLY answering a question from some JACKASS!" ect...
Another thing is, he said he wouldn't have given the order to go into Pakistan and assasinate Bin Laden. Fuck all these wars were in it's bullshit, but I'm all for sending in a team of bad asses to gang bang terrorists who killed those people. I don't really give a damn what the constitution says about it to be honest, it's a matter of not letting folks get away with it and sending a message, that we will hunt you down and kill you if you do that shit, it's a good deturant.
Another thing is I've listened to Ron Paul enough to know that he doesn't think he can just go in there and end medicare. He knows people have become dependent on it. What really concerns me is him wanting to get rid of FDA, EPA, The department of education; like you said they all need massive reform but just to get rid of them... Sounds crazy, not to mention his whole thing about gold is the only real money, that's crazy talk too.
Problem with Ron Paul is that some people literally only hear him speak about Austrian economics, oppose "big government" and oppose the wars. I don't see why anybody who is sane AND has looked what he actually says more broadly can be for the guy.
You gotta give it to Ron Paul that he is at least consistent and has principles though. I can't say the same for Barack Obama or Mitt Romney, certainly not Newt Gingrich. I mean, what choices are there really..
The abortion issue has already been decided in the supreme court, I actually don't know exactly what a president would do to stop it, I'm not saying they wouldn't try and pull some shit, but I don't see how they're going to fudamentally change it. A lot of liberals like Ron Paul because of his stance on foreign policy, war and the war on drugs. Personally I agree with him on all that stuff, but almost everything else he says I think is crazy. Maybe he is the least evil choice we have though.
Ron Paul is the only truly anti-war candidate. If Obama stays in office or if any of those neo-cons becomes president, we will probably go to war with Iran. The strait of hormuz will be shut down. Mass suffering and death for the American people. Worrying about all these other issues is just a luxury.
I don't believe ending the drug war is just about cutting spending. Ron Paul has expressed sympathy for non-violent drug users who are in prison.
Relatively speaking, Paul is certainly more anti-war than any of the neo-cons. He has a consistent anti-war voting record, unlike Obama, whose tenure so far has been like Bush's third term.
@KrissytheWorldWithin He only wants to go to war if it's declared by the congress and the American people are actually threatened. He's as anti war a candidate as anyone could possibly expect to win. Sure he's not against all war in all circumstances, I wouldn't vote for someone who is totally anti-war in the exact meaning of the term. I wouldn't vote for Ron Paul for other reasons, but he has consistently been against these wars.
@Engelborg None of this mitigates his disdain for women's bodily autonomy, or his condemnation of universal health care, or his desire to allow offshore oil drilling. FUCK THAT.
@SickMouth Like I said in my original comment, worrying about all those issues is a luxury when weighed against the terrible consequences we will suffer if we don't stop our foreign adventurism very soon. Abortion, universal health care, drilling for oil; all these will seem irrelevant when oil hits $150/barrel.
Ron Paul is an absolutely horrible candidate, but at the same time he represents what the bottom of the barrel should be in a democracy: someone you can't vote for not because they're corrupt and evil, but because they're just full of shit. Sadly, being genuine and full of shit actually makes him the best candidate out of what we've seen so far. I do so miss Dennis Kucinich.
Obama is only going to be a one term president, and every sign shows this.
ALL the other Republican candidates, other than Newt are far far more extreme in their religious views, to the point of making dominionism a key speaking point on their world views.
Newt is just a corporate lackie that wants nothing more than feed the war machine.
As far as being shunned for being wicken, I can't speak for everyone but my view is you'll grow/medicate out of it
@Connected2U2 You spelled the word Wiccan incorrectly. And furthermore I don't need to grow out of it. Do I tell atheists that I think they grow out of being atheists? No because that would be completely inappropriate.
There's a lot more money being wasted in things that have nothing to do with the wars than is being spent on the wars. Even if he did keep his promise to bring all our troops home, he'd cost us more money elsewhere.
I hate to say this, but, is there someone who's been president in the last little while who's been "qualified"? There are some ideas that Mr Paul stands for I agree with, but, there is a basic cognitive dissonance between some of those ideas and others that scares me. I don't expect him to get in; frighteningly, things could change. I like Wikens. Are you running? You're not a fundamentalist Wiken, are you? ;-)
@RichardRoy2 The word Wiccan isn't spelled that way. I can't be president for two reasons. One I live in a foreign country, Two I'm 20, you have to be at least 35 to be president, I'm about 15 years too young.
@KrissytheWorldWithin "foreign national"? Strange that, if an American Polition said that it would have a conotation of evil dripping from it, don't you think? ;-) I don't know that much about Wiccan. The little I've gleaned gives me the impression of someone with a closer relationship with nature and that it's history goes back at least as far as the vikings. That should give you a woeful glimpse into my state of ignorance. I even get the impression there's a tie to Paganism. I'll need to look.
The Ron Paul people annoy the living hell out of me. It's always very awkward having a conversation with them because if I just happen to hate what the government is doing then all of the sudden, they act like there's some sort of understanding between us when really there isn't.
@jaekae8 Yeah, to me that sounds like he's admitting to a felony, but aparently the pro-life crowd loves that story because he's told it a few times, I find the claim rather dubious to be honest.
@jaekae8 You can't hear him say that in this clip but I heard him telling the same story back in 2008. Even in this clip though, you should be able to tell that he wasn't putting the baby in the bucket himself.
I guess we would have to take his word for it; but lying is not consistent with his reputation, unlike all the other candidates.
oh girl, I gave up on all those people. They are blind and think they're doing a great thing. Ron Paul is mysticized by religion. Ok....I have so many things I want to say about all the vids you've shown....but I'm just going to bite my tongue for now, I don't feel like dealing with the RP followers.
Also, the Department of Education is a total failure. Over half its spending is on No Child Left Behind, a completely ineffective program. You haven't even looked into what it does, have you? Do you even have a background in economics? What makes you think you know so much?

@ZuccottiPark Alright, go find Ron Paul and beat him up if it makes you feel any better. He says all life is precious, so here's your chance to prove him wrong.

These Ron paul followers seem to be quite blind on many of his contradicting views.

My father is a Paulite, and we live in Australia! He will call me almost every night and say "you've got to check out this AMAZING video of Dr Ron Paul BRILLIANTLY answering a question from some JACKASS!" ect...
Good video Krissy, (I like your church :) )

Another thing is, he said he wouldn't have given the order to go into Pakistan and assasinate Bin Laden. Fuck all these wars were in it's bullshit, but I'm all for sending in a team of bad asses to gang bang terrorists who killed those people. I don't really give a damn what the constitution says about it to be honest, it's a matter of not letting folks get away with it and sending a message, that we will hunt you down and kill you if you do that shit, it's a good deturant.
DarkFantasyvids 1 month ago
Another thing is I've listened to Ron Paul enough to know that he doesn't think he can just go in there and end medicare. He knows people have become dependent on it. What really concerns me is him wanting to get rid of FDA, EPA, The department of education; like you said they all need massive reform but just to get rid of them... Sounds crazy, not to mention his whole thing about gold is the only real money, that's crazy talk too.
DarkFantasyvids 1 month ago
Problem with Ron Paul is that some people literally only hear him speak about Austrian economics, oppose "big government" and oppose the wars. I don't see why anybody who is sane AND has looked what he actually says more broadly can be for the guy.

If it comes down to Ron Paul or Obama that is a pretty tough choice actually.
DarkFantasyvids 1 month ago
^^ And not in a good way.
DarkFantasyvids 1 month ago
You gotta give it to Ron Paul that he is at least consistent and has principles though. I can't say the same for Barack Obama or Mitt Romney, certainly not Newt Gingrich. I mean, what choices are there really..
DarkFantasyvids 1 month ago
The abortion issue has already been decided in the supreme court, I actually don't know exactly what a president would do to stop it, I'm not saying they wouldn't try and pull some shit, but I don't see how they're going to fudamentally change it. A lot of liberals like Ron Paul because of his stance on foreign policy, war and the war on drugs. Personally I agree with him on all that stuff, but almost everything else he says I think is crazy. Maybe he is the least evil choice we have though.
DarkFantasyvids 1 month ago
@DarkFantasyvids He wants to repeal Roe v Wade
KrissytheWorldWithin 1 month ago
Ron Paul is the only truly anti-war candidate. If Obama stays in office or if any of those neo-cons becomes president, we will probably go to war with Iran. The strait of hormuz will be shut down. Mass suffering and death for the American people. Worrying about all these other issues is just a luxury.
I don't believe ending the drug war is just about cutting spending. Ron Paul has expressed sympathy for non-violent drug users who are in prison.
Engelborg 1 month ago
@Engelborg He's not anti-war his own campaign admits it, but nice try.
KrissytheWorldWithin 1 month ago
@KrissytheWorldWithin That's news to me. What's your source for that?
Relatively speaking, Paul is certainly more anti-war than any of the neo-cons. He has a consistent anti-war voting record, unlike Obama, whose tenure so far has been like Bush's third term.
Engelborg 1 month ago
@KrissytheWorldWithin He only wants to go to war if it's declared by the congress and the American people are actually threatened. He's as anti war a candidate as anyone could possibly expect to win. Sure he's not against all war in all circumstances, I wouldn't vote for someone who is totally anti-war in the exact meaning of the term. I wouldn't vote for Ron Paul for other reasons, but he has consistently been against these wars.
DarkFantasyvids 1 month ago
@Engelborg None of this mitigates his disdain for women's bodily autonomy, or his condemnation of universal health care, or his desire to allow offshore oil drilling. FUCK THAT.
SickMouth 1 month ago
@SickMouth Like I said in my original comment, worrying about all those issues is a luxury when weighed against the terrible consequences we will suffer if we don't stop our foreign adventurism very soon. Abortion, universal health care, drilling for oil; all these will seem irrelevant when oil hits $150/barrel.
Engelborg 1 month ago
Ron Paul is an absolutely horrible candidate, but at the same time he represents what the bottom of the barrel should be in a democracy: someone you can't vote for not because they're corrupt and evil, but because they're just full of shit. Sadly, being genuine and full of shit actually makes him the best candidate out of what we've seen so far. I do so miss Dennis Kucinich.

I understand and completely agree. But.
As far as being shunned for being wicken, I can't speak for everyone but my view is you'll grow/medicate out of it
Connected2U2 1 month ago
@Connected2U2 You spelled the word Wiccan incorrectly. And furthermore I don't need to grow out of it. Do I tell atheists that I think they grow out of being atheists? No because that would be completely inappropriate.
KrissytheWorldWithin 1 month ago
There's a lot more money being wasted in things that have nothing to do with the wars than is being spent on the wars. Even if he did keep his promise to bring all our troops home, he'd cost us more money elsewhere.

I hate to say this, but, is there someone who's been president in the last little while who's been "qualified"? There are some ideas that Mr Paul stands for I agree with, but, there is a basic cognitive dissonance between some of those ideas and others that scares me. I don't expect him to get in; frighteningly, things could change. I like Wikens. Are you running? You're not a fundamentalist Wiken, are you? ;-)
RichardRoy2 1 month ago
@RichardRoy2 The word Wiccan isn't spelled that way. I can't be president for two reasons. One I live in a foreign country, Two I'm 20, you have to be at least 35 to be president, I'm about 15 years too young.
KrissytheWorldWithin 1 month ago
@KrissytheWorldWithin 15 years? plenty of time to practice. You should start now. Sorry about the spelling.
RichardRoy2 1 month ago
@RichardRoy2 there's still the whole problem about me living in a foreign country, plus I'm married to a foreign national
KrissytheWorldWithin 1 month ago

Did Ron just say that he really delivered a live baby, crying and all, and then he put the baby in a bucket?
jaekae8 1 month ago
@jaekae8 sounded like it lol XD
richd506 1 month ago
@jaekae8 So, shoul I vote for him because he is "prolife", even though he has admitted to literally murdering children?
jaekae8 1 month ago
@jaekae8 Yeah, to me that sounds like he's admitting to a felony, but aparently the pro-life crowd loves that story because he's told it a few times, I find the claim rather dubious to be honest.
KrissytheWorldWithin 1 month ago
@jaekae8 He was a medical student at the time, witnessing a late-term abortion. He was not yet a doctor and did not perform the abortion.
Engelborg 1 month ago
@Engelborg Where does he say that? Either way, I'm sort-of poking fun because I suspect he is either lying or, most likely, exagerating.
jaekae8 1 month ago
@jaekae8 You can't hear him say that in this clip but I heard him telling the same story back in 2008. Even in this clip though, you should be able to tell that he wasn't putting the baby in the bucket himself.
I guess we would have to take his word for it; but lying is not consistent with his reputation, unlike all the other candidates.
Engelborg 1 month ago
@jaekae8 Actually he checked the parents immigration status first.
