  • leave your globes nerd

  • @cheposhf im not sure what you're trying to say, but thank you. :)

  • great sounds

  • strangely a very creepy video...

  • do you know a song where the cr-8000 have been used?

i'm looking for a few name of song like krafterk, daft punk or jean mmichel jarre where the cr-8000 was used for...

thanks if you have some idea

  • DAMN !!! YOU HAD TO DO ALL THAT TO MAKE A BEAT ON THAT MACHINE BACK IN THE DAY ?!!! WOW!

  • You are so polite

  • BAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAH!!! WTF is this. Come on!

  • i like this drum machine because people think i used for some music demo i made 808 lol. my only complaint about roland is that they have good sound, but some crappy quality, like a mamiya camera. my mamiya 7 camera has a really cheap feel like its going to fall apart. same with when i had a roland tb303

  • It does look like a kitchen appliance!

Gotta love that snare though. Lovely.

  • lol it looks loike my astmatic inhalation tool ^^

  • why doesn't anyone record the drum machine's output DIRECTLY?

i've yet to hear an HQ demo after a dozen or more

  • @djgambitron EXACTLY! These demos are crap when not in HQ!

  • @GanEdenAustralia good news... we just got a video cam with an audio input and will probably use it from this point on.

  • JUST GOT TO LOVE IT!!!!!!!!!!!

  • The gloves..!11!1 lol.

  • all we hear is him hitting the buttons not the machine lol

  • that is oldskuuuul

  • rubber gloved roland badman!

  • He is using latex gloves so im pretty sure he's taking good care of his roland cr 8000

Whats the point in having a piece of instrument and be afraid to play it?

  • I think you could have hit those buttons just a little HARDER....

  • keep smackin those buttons like that, and you can say bye bye to your drum machine

  • ive used cr8000s and plenty of other vintage drum machines and synths for many, many years and ive not once damaged any instrument. you might get a kick out of my oberheim xpander video. :) be sure to read the "more info" part.

  • You don't deserve it, the way you use them is complete ridigolous.

  • @boswachtersrule your spelling is complete ridigolous ;)

  • @123synthland at least i know how to use equipment, don't need spelling or gay gloves for that.....

  • @boswachtersrule my gloves are strictly heterosexual, but i have nothing against gay gloves. do you?

  • @eric1love I thought that too, ouch!

  • @eric1love exactly show some respect, u see using a drum machine is very much like making love to a beautiful woman............

  • @eric1love lol!

  • @eric1love i have a CR-8000 and have played countless gigs with it. I use the buttons to perform and do realtime improv arrangements and the thing is a tank. smacking the buttons like is no problem.

  • i found that at pawn shop

    but ,ah,some switch has broken

  • Sounds like this was used on Man Made by Mann Parish.

  • woooo thats a bit to complicated for me to operate

  • Wierd box, looks like some old machine from a hospital, hehe

  • thats cool. but would it work well in a live show?

  • @muselover100 depends on what you're trying to do. some people use these live.

  • Love the hihats from this thing. I used do drum programming with a Kurzweil K2000R and the 8000 hats were a mainstay.

  • u got skills synthman that's a phat ass beat

  • awesome!

  • i want one

  • sounds bit like bdyonchord by Aphex Twin

but i think thats different machine than AT's

  • that looks like a bitch to program but fucking cool

  • @ghostmonkeyrape its a little challenging but its fun to use.

  • haha were the rubber gloves an 80's fashion statement?

  • nope, synth freaks really always wear these while working ^^

  • love the way you program with your gloves.

  • Classic! I've never seen one of these played. Awesome entry mode. It'd be awesome to sneak this into an E.R and turn it on.

  • weirdo

  • can you build up your own loop? i really dig the sound, 80 ina wierd kinda 60-wannabe-style/stuf/thing

  • why are u wearing gloves what year is this rythm machine

  • i always wear gloves when i give my patients physical examinations. not sure of year, maybe 1981-1982?

  • @HarryBlach you're a wierdo

  • Classic !!!!

  • because hand claps make a beat sound sick

  • " We've got a million vintage synths but still no tripod. :) " LMAO

  • this was one of the 1st videos if not the very first video we posted to youtube. we didnt have a tripod then but we do have one now. we use it when we feel like it. :)

  • the "cow bells" were "it" 30 years ago

  • They are still 'it' ;)

  • Hand claps where it 20 years ago, seem to be comming back

  • Handclaps never went away :)

  • THE LATEX GLOVE GROOVE!!!

  • is the glove absolutely necessary

  • First seconds you look like a crazy bank cashier....lolol

    Excelent vid.

  • you know man, your audio is out of sync. nice demo though.

  • this, VS the Casio VL-Tone?

  • xD too fun !!

slam this tight lil ass =]? Pl

  • fun, maybe, but im not interested in slamming your ass. sorry.

    :)

  • gloves lol

  • Lol wearing gloves but smaching the buttons :D

  • consider it tough love. seriously though, im rough with gear intentionally when i test it as i dont know how rough the person who buys it is going to be with it and i want it to work for any customer, even the one with the not so gentle touch.

  • Lol...just what i was thinking

  • synthman's gloves give him special powers.

  • synthman's gloves have special powers that give him his oldschool ability.

  • synthman u are so powerful do u get paid to play or are u just a collector of some sort.

  • thanks vdoeschaal :) sometimes i do get paid. :) but my videos are made when im preparing items for sale - we buy and sell vintage synths and similar items professionally.

  • It slices, it dices, it makes delicious farty puree right in the comfort of your own kitchen!

    It's The Queasy-Nart 9000!

  • may i ask u why did u used latex gloves using a drum machine? :)

  • why not? :)

  • exactly! haha

  • Yeah, you should have worn condoms on yer fingers instead of gloves.

    Be a man. Wear condoms.

  • I always thought that thing looked like something belonging in the kitchen.

  • holy macro ...what is this..this is space exploration all over again...hmmm...i did not know this dangerous weapon to control the universe...WOW>>!!! greaaattt !!!

  • Your vid convinced me the most and I bought one at last. Its brother 5000 was alot cheaper but 8000 is capable of programming your own rythm(the way to do it is very similer to BOSS DR55)and it has also got dinsync.Handy for syncronising it with some newer gears like FutureRetroRevo etc.

  • I've always thought that those look like some kind of medical device. The latex gloves only back that up.

  • youre right. we were giving someone a rhythm transfusion. patient privacy laws prevented us from showing him, but now, thanks to the roland compu-rhythm, hes got the freshest moonwalk in town....

  • XD

Pls make a video of that!

  • lol dude, that was bad ass.

  • dope

  • my first drumachine. luv it!

  • lol incredible...

  • Thats a Doctor messing about in his lunchbreak!

  • Pardon my ignorance , but is this synth or sample based drum machine. What was the cr78 or what ever it is called ?

  • synthesized drum sounds.

  • thanks for posting this, I always wanted to see how it was proged.

  • so can you acually programme your own rhythms like 808s or can you only choose from presets?

  • you can use the presets or program your own. the video shows me writing a pattern. the procedures quite different from writing on an 808.

  • I finally got mine. I love this thing...

  • i would assume he;s wearin gloves to keep the machine in good shape. i mean, it was produced in 1978.. thanks for demoing these old drum machines.. I LOVE IT!

  • About 10years ago, this vintage shop that looked like a ghost house had this sitting next to a CR78.I bought CR78(Had this image of Ultravox and NewMusik etc were using it heavily)and it was a big mistake I should have chosen this instead. This has got a trigger out which should be able to sync easily with an internal sequencer of my SH101.After seeing this video another piece of beautiful junk is added on my wishlist.Nice video!!!.

  • Dope, really beck-ish. Whats up with the gloves?

  • Used on the new Kontour album (Some Bizzare) sounds cool...

  • Oh wow, bloody hell this thing sounds much funkier than TR808!I always wondered how this sucker sounds like and thanks to you now I know.Has it got triger output and old Roland dinsync at the back I wonder.

  • I don't know about that...plus, this only has one output while the 808 has 10

  • If you knew...Thomas Dolby, Patrick Cowley...so meny bands used this beatiful drum machine...

  • Oh man, I love it! The cowbell is super retro-80's!

  • That thing is beautiful

  • very old

  • Vintage lab gear...gotta love it. **SIGH** I wish I still had all of my older hardware...ACK!

  • I'll say.

  • I just totally blew getting one of these for $40 over the weekend. I'm an idiot.

  • Blew? 40 dollars is a helluva deal for one of these...

  • I think you misread. He missed a chance to get one for $40. That was quite a deal.

  • Oh, that sucks!

  • hmmm... good idea, plexuss :)

  • what about those cool black latext gloves?

  • Thanks for the encouragement. :) The gloves will stay. I'm glad you liked the video.

  • The gloves should stay. I like that idea. Nice vid.

  • Yes. They were so popular the first time around that we decided to make them our trademark. :)

  • The latex gloves again.
