Around 1992, Anheuser-Busch, the brewers of Budweiser (and other best-selling beers), decided to enter the snack food business as well [taking their cue from Pepsi, who bought Frito-Lay in 1965 because their president, Donald Kendall, observed, "Salted snacks make people thirsty"]. A-B created "Eagle Snacks", packaging peanuts, chips and other "nibbles" targeted at those who were going to wash them down with their beer. They didn't....and within a few years, Eagle Snacks was history.
I guess I missed these hilarious commerical when they first aired. I don't remember them at all...though I've always been a huge fan of both the late great Tony Randall and the equally gifted Jack Klugman. MANY thanks for sharing this delightful "blast from the past" with us!!! :)

I would buy Eagle chips just because of these ads with Tony Randall and Jack Klugman.

Thanks for posting. They were such a cute duo and it's nice to see how often they worked together. Funny commerical.
