Would have been better if they wrote it so Ryan just pulls over and finishes off Volchok and faces the consequences like serving jail time in the last season with an intense court battle with sandy defending Ryan again or something. Or if Volchok kidnapped Marissa that scene with Ryan searching for them in Mexico, Season 4 would have been better. Ryan & Marissa should have ALWAYS lasted until the end of the series.

@MiguelCC51 Ryan and Marissa were an imporant pair much llke Seth and Summer. Even though Mischa wanted to leave, they didn't have to close the book and write Marissa out of the series through death. Whether people hated Marissa or not isn't relevant. Taylor was a good addition, but not to 'replace' Marissa. Season 3 was weird, but Season 4 was even more weird with Taylor and the ending didn't suit with her inclusion and feeble connection with Ryan. Ryan and Marissa to the end would have suited.

honestly, this was one of the few times Mischa Barton does a good acting job being marissa cooper, i always found this character's storyline and life interesting and entertaining, but mischa is only good at crying and staring passionately into the sea, besides that, she needed some acting classes

i mean, she wasn't crushed to death, because when ryan pulled her out she was still alive. she didn't have any severe injuries because she didn't bleed, it looked like a scene in which someone dies from a terminal disease.

that bleeding was nothing. she didn't have a gash in her head because then she would have really bled a lot, and she was conscious when he pulled her out so the conclusion is that this bleeding was superficial. i mean this bleeding didn't dry her out.
