  • Ar-peggy-ator .... ?? hahaha

  • Would you be able to tell me which preset your using at 0.24? I think the previous owner edited several patches. Would like to try an reload the presets from the Clavia Web Page but, I have heard from others that it doesn't work well.

  • Finally someone who can actually play instead of just twirling the knobs to try and sound like he can play. Thank you, sir!

  • holy shit, Freddy Krueger playing a Nord Lead.

  • Subdivisions! Mad respect.

  • how can you sell such a great keyboard!? Oo

i get my new one on saturday. before i had the nord rack 2. now i ordered the nord lead 2x :)

  • is the patch from 0.25 onwards availaible for the nord electro 3? whats the patch name

  • you are pro

  • how would one learn to play this kind of instrument?

would you just have to play with it untill you got good?

  • are the keys weighted?

  • Check my Virtual Nord Lead controller in my Youtube channel

  • what's with the freddy krueger sleeve?

  • trilogy suite yeahhhhhhhhh jajaja

  • how would you compare this to something like an Access Virus?

    just curious. Thanks

  • Fact: Never challenge Freddie Krueger to a synth duel.

(Just kidding. Nice vid, nice skills.)

  • One of the best digital keyboards ever made. This + Virus + Waldorfs, prove that digital can hold it's own to analog. V-Synth is also incredible

  • damn i wish i had your keyboard skills

  • How many presets are in lead 2x?

  • fuck me here comes Freddy???

  • Bloody hell is that Freddy Kruger?????

  • Trilogy Suite Op:5. Nice!!

  • sounds good, nice playing.

  • Arpeggio = ArpeDJio

  • After the many comments already stating that, I'm sure he gets it now

  • Can this make realistic OB sounds? Would you say its a quality synth?

  • dunno about OB sounds, but nord voice quality is legend. Build for playing.

  • arpegiators = pronounced arpeJiators

  • BLITZKREIG!!!!

  • ArpeGGiator?

  • You know, it plays arpeGGios...

  • You made Subdivisions sound like a Euro-Trash song haha

  • Please bid. Thanks.

  • i'm in the process of deciding between a virus TI snow and a nord lead 2x (or wave) - the nords are winning the race at the moment

we don't all want to make trance techno, I play live, mostly vintage-style retro funk, for which i also use a nord electro 3

  • Good keyboard player on good synthesizer! I love this rare combination :)

  • at 1.04 min it´s a sound used by nintendo in mariokart. i want to buy a synth. maybe it´s the nord lead 2x because i like those 80s leads and basses and its the best mix between great preset sound and editing possibility.....and boy what a design!! i´m sorry for my bad english...i´m from germany ;-)

  • look at the waldorf blofeld! it's fantastic 1000 time than the nord lead2x!

  • HAATTTEERR!

  • dude, thats his style, fuck off

  • whoever it was who asked a while back, have a look at the Prophet 08 too.

  • This dude plays great!

  • Is that nord wave?

  • nop, nord lead

  • arpeggio...

    like "veg"

    not "peg"

  • no.

    it's PEGGIO

    not VEGGIO

  • 'pej' the g sounds like a j

    ahr-pej-ee-oh

  • You're awesome

Playing malmsteen songs, you can't beat that

  • awesome,,, where can I buy one,, guitarcenter? and what does it cost?

    Id apreciate the information,, thanx.

  • don't know if it's sold at guitar center, but it costs about 1100€, so maybe 1300$...don't know the actual price.

  • why don't you google it

  • why is everyone selling it :O

  • haha.. lMFAO

  • I sold my NL2R and I often miss it.

  • Would you be willing to part with your hands?

  • Heh.

  • Man that sounds so good.

  • can you explain how you made sound on 0:20?Thanks

  • Sounds just like two really detuned saws. I'm not sure if there's more to it, but that's what it sounds like to me. =]

  • !YOUZEHLY-YOUZEHLY!

  • 0:46 awsome

  • Great video demo and playing man, Especially teh Malmsteen trilogy excerpt! Yowza!!!

  • in case anyone has an idea.... Does anyone know what exactly ARE the trade secrets of the Nord series? I read an article in a keyboard magazine that said that while it has a unison button, it's actually *always* in unison mode.. And the Clavia web site says that "Mathematical simulations of the signals generated by analog oscillators are the basis for the incredible sound that speaks for itself" which makes me think that maybe they have a patent on some really advanced algorithms or something?

  • Why'd you sell it?

  • Trilogy Suite Op:5 on Nord..I didn't even recognize it til you mentioned Yngwie..very cool

  • Does it play any piano/organ/wurlie sounds? and if so, how are they?

  • This is an analog modeler, so no, these types of sounds are not its specialty. The Nord Stage however is a *phenomenal* Hammond emulator which is as close to the real thing as you'll probably ever get.

  • i agree, i have the stage 88 and it is amazing. Good for piano, organ, wurlitzer, clavichord, and even has a limited synth. If you're looking for the best organ though i would suggest either the stage, or for the real organ feel the Nord C1 Combo Organ. I think you can even download a harpsichord for the stage

  • oh, and i just downloaded a harpsichord for my Nord Stage

  • @alexvdbroek

If you want these sounds, you need to buy an Nord Electro

    for Piano Sounds

  • O,O

    just awesome

    i want one!!

  • subdivisions! weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee......

  • kool

  • Personally I dont like Nord keyb they are good pianos and organs but thats it, a little Waldorf blofeld or a Virus TI Snow put any Nord back to the box.

  • Don't agree - each of the compared devices have their very own characteristics. Sure, a Virus TI Snow for example is a great device, but does it sound like a nordlead? No.

  • I own this keyboard, along with a Ti, and a Andromeda and a microkorg. Just thought I would put myself over a quick promo.

  • SKILLZ! Man you are goood! i want one like that!

  • do flashy synth players get chicks like guitar players ???? lol!!!

  • the most of synthesizers does not cut of the sound when you change the sounds, while you are playing..

  • except all Korg workstations, most Rolands and Yamahas also...

  • damn you're very good.

  • goodd

  • u r so sick with it!!!!!! i need every note u hit through 00:20-00:23. please.

  • That's one of my favorite scales in Gm. Starts on G, and then travels down a few octaves using G#, G, D#, D, C, and A#. Mix ingredients in blender, pour over crushed ice & served garnished with a pineapple and a cherry. Serves 666.

  • @hamsterdunce I NEED E.V.E.R. E.Y. NOTE ONE BY ONE PLEASE.

  • @hamsterdunce THANK YOU FOR POSTING THIS

  • Comment removed

  • is this latin?

  • good!

  • I'm glad you're a musician who appreciates the greater music (such as progressive rock). Yngwie used to be a favorite of mine, but he got boring so hearing you do it on the keyboard helped reborn my passion. Loved the Rush though, greatest band out there no questions asked!

  • 192 kb sucks ass!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • You can't deny Virus is the most Universal, it can even reproduce a fart with high 192 Kb quality... Nord is good, but its sound can be recognized in a mix... it's predictable... it's Nordlead sounding... Virus immitates virtually everything... BUT be careful, all are VA's... they all still lack the warmth of real analogue.

  • And Virus's user support and OS updates is the ultimate in Hardware synth world.

  • Get a damn Virus Ti and RELIEVE YOURSELF !

All your Electronica matters solved by it...

NORD is famous for it's "dry" sound, especially when there's no FX... but they say it's easy to program, and LCD menu tree is straightforward, while Virus's only problem is Menu's a bit labyrinthine...

  • That's why the Nord series is so awesome, they don't try to sucker people into buying internal effects that cover up the sound of crappy sounding oscillators. It's like selling someone a wal mart guitar with an amp that has built in delay or something. "wow this sounds neat!"

Not to mention, you can get most any effect you want from the Nord Lead if you know how FX work & are creative. Pedals and internal devices are basicly presets with maybe one or two editable parameters.

  • Ti Virus is a million trillion times better sounding than this pile of junk, even Logic's ES-2 makes better sounds.

  • Our Peggy ate her

  • hi. i need one! and need a nord NOW!:(

  • Is it pronounced R-peg-e-ay-tor?

    Or...R-pej-e-ay-tor?

I've always been curious about Nord's stuff.

My whole synthline so far has been Korg.

I'm debating between this and a Radias.

  • r-pej-e-aytor

  • Aaaargh NO! Please don't get a Radius - it is a total rip off.

    Its ar-pej-ee-yator by the way.

  • I with sitrun64, the Radius sucks. I took it back after one week of frustration with the interface and quality of sound. I'd say go with Nord, it's good stuff for VA.

  • Dude... I had a Radias... I sold it for the Nord Lead.

It was literally the WORST synth I've EVER HEARD. Terrible doesnt even BEGIN to describe it! I mean... HORRIBLE! ITS PATHETIC HOW BAD IT IS!

  • The Radias was the worst, or the Nord Lead?

I'm somewhat of a Korg purist, but I'll branch out if this thing is all it's cut out to be.

I'm competing with a local band, and they're Roland fanatics. So, I need something to trump their FantomX6.

  • Fantoms fc*king sucking!! I own the sonic cell, (which is basically a super fantom module) and I loath the thing, it shouldn't take much to trump that heap. I'm undecided about these Lead 2Xs though

  • sounds like hedge

    not heg

  • Does this have any presets? Does it have piano or organ presets?

  • While it does have hundreds of presets, it's an analog modeler so there are no sample-based waveforms like pianos or complex organs...

  • right thanks.

  • Nice shredding!

  • which, by the by, try not typing after a twelve hour work day. it will help a lot in your life. as evident by that butchering of the english language I just posted.

  • i may be digging my grave by saying this here, but have you ever tried the AN1X by Yamaha? In my opinion, of course, that thing really does the VA thing better than any Clavia product.

  • I used to own a CS-1X but found it a bit on the thin side.

  • a little but of a misconception about the two is that they're related. Very different boards. But, change I suppose having the 1X does throw people off. If I can find a decent video camera, i will throw some demos up of mine and let you know.

  • Great! I'd love to check it out.

  • If you think the an1x is better than a g2x, you need your third eye squegeeing.

    The Nord is FAR superior.

  • Opinions are like assholes-everyone has one,but it sounds like your opinion came from your asshole.

  • eh. people can think what they want. It all boils down to taste. To me, the AN1x does the VA thing better...to others, it's NL all the way. That's the beauty of diversity.

  • i thaught so too when i first tried the Clavia nord lead 1

  • You are not digging your grave, the An1X is much warmer sounding than the Clavia Nords.

  • Woah, wheres da mod wheel?

    Awesome synth either way.

  • you're awesome with that synth... i wish they sold them here where i live

  • ebay man, ebay.

thats how i get most all of my synth stuff.

  • great video.. wonder, is this factory presets? I'm going to buy a nord lead or rack, because of the pads which is magic.. how is a 2 compared to 2X ? do you need effects? and is it possible to import nord lead 3 patches to a nord lead 2?

  • That heavy growly lead I use for the Yngwie crapola is actually stock sound #1 on my Nord (I bought another one since selling this one!). However, different versions have somewhat different patches. I think it was sound #6 on this older model!

  • u don't like Yngwie?

  • I love him, but I played it... craptastically?

  • Nah man, you sounded great!

  • I love that lead from Subdivisions!

I'm getting one of these this week!

And, you sir have some very nice chops...I'm envious of your finessed technique. ;-)

    MooT BooXLe

  • cool vid, mon! that's one of the greatest synths; a true classic. you showcase it well.

  • it's "ar-pedge-ee-ator"

  • right... :o)

  • The NL2X is shit !! NL2 is better :)

  • that 'delay' is not internal FX of the nord lead 2x, right? otherwise im selling my NL2 now :D

  • i just got myself the g2 muahahaha

  • "Can you play

  • Sorry about this great comment from me :D.

Nice video, I'm thinking of adding this thing to my gear.

  • you did Subdivisions!

  • this synth is really a great piece of gear... nice demo by the way

  • "ar-peggie-ator" haha.

man u got some chops and i love ur comments

  • Is nordlead good for trance?

  • wot do u fucking think?

  • I dunno, thats why I ask?

  • Most synths can do Trance leads. You just need to learn how to program it.

  • Aight, thanks for the info :)

  • hey do you know infected mushroom they use the nord live live..

  • You're a cracking synth player aswell, haha. Loving it.

  • Rockin the fready kruger shirt and busten a smooth sound on the Nord. Awesome set dude! Can't wait to hear what you can do with songs. ^_^

  • whoever got it from you is impossibly lucky for such a great price.

  • @eatingmeals you think the keys are still in great condition ;-)

@ hamsterdunce thanks for your incredible demos of your playing here on YT!

  • haha that trilogy is fuckin sick. rush is fuckin sick too man. that diminished arpeggio thing is fuckin sick too
