Awwww, I love Starlight! I'm so proud to have this piece of history practically in my own backyard! :D Great video :) but what they don't tell you, is that there are WASPS in the SPEAKERS!! Hehe, oh, how I love summer memories at Starlight :)
I enjoyed watching this. It's nice to see drive-ins that are still operating. I took my kids to the Family Drive-In in Stephens City, VA last June for the first time. They really enjoyed it.
Mr. Richard Beasley passed away last Sunday. He was a friend and I will miss him. I worked at the Starlite the last half of the 1960's. RIP my friend.
As far as I know, Mrs "B", Peggy his daughter and family are going to keep it open just like always. The hot dogs will the same good old hot dogs as in the past. Richard will still be there, you just won't be able to see him, but don't be surprised if you do.
Very nice video. Well researched and put together in an entertaining way. It's nice to know people take the time to put together segments like this. FIVE out of FIVE Stars for this production. Thanks for posting.
I wish my Starlite was still open. I worked at the Waterloo, Ia one for 13 years till it was tore down to make way for a grocery store. It was built in 1947, the 1st drive in in Iowa

Sorry to hear that, he was a really friendly and helpful man.
Is there someone else to keep the Starlite going?
