Originally I loved it, but I never listen to the lyrics much, so really I just loved Alicia Keys' hook in the chorus. However, one of my christian friends encouraged me to look up the lyrics. Needless to say I was shocked and disgusted when I did. Those lines just don't need to be there. The song got deleted off my ipod (thank goodness for Alicia's part 2 track!)

Well done Pastor Cox. I absolutely agree with the views you've presented in this video. I went through a journey with this song. Originally I loved it, but I never listen to the lyrics much, so really I just loved Alicia Keys' hook in the chorus. However, one of my christian friends encouraged me to look up the lyrics. Needless to say I was shocked and disgusted when I did. Those lines just don't need to be there. The song got deleted off my ipod (thank goodness for Alicia's part 2 track!)

Wake up people, study your Bible...Jay is definitely against Christ, which is his right, but I have to speak out against him for fear of him influencing the lost and unsaved.

People must understand that Jay Z has an agenda and it is very much Anti-Christian. Today, the way to a man's heart is through his ears. If you hears something over and over again you will slowly begin to believe it. Likewise, Jay Z, who calls himself god and who is probably the face of Hip Hop in general, is flaunting his "power" and attacking not only the Church but the truth of the Gospel; Jesus Christ who is always able and purposed to Save lives. Despite, Jesus will always be King!!!

just because Jay-Z is not christian doesnt mean that these people shouldnt get pissed off. If something offends the moral realms of a mass population people are going to get pissed off. I am not saying that Jay Z is a bad person for saying this because he has freedom of speech but Pastor Justin has made an unbelievably strong point in this video. I am not a christian anyone can realize what he is saying if you just put your guard down and take what this man is saying for what it really is.

I pray for the "believers" who say they are believers but as soon as someone suggests a more righteous way of living, a more narrow pathway to walk on... we become like stubborn mules and declare we have our Christian freedom! thats not freedom in Christ saints...thats rebellion and a hatred for the ways of God...Bless you Pastor Justin

I Respect what you are saying Pastor Justin, but you missed horribly with this one.....Using your approach towards this Jay Z drama basically saying forget the context in which what he said was said in and instead just read the statement "Jesus can't save u life starts when the church ends" then i can throw this analogy out there about some random person yelling "FIRE" inside of lets say theatre and people get hurt and they say well i thought i had freedom of speech?

What I don't understand is why your gettin so excited about the verse. As a Christian you should already know that Jay-Z does not uphold the same standard as you do. Is it offensive to a Christian, of course it is; but so is most of the content he produces and that's why Christians shouldn't be listening to it in the first place. Furthermore, this is not the first time someone in the entertainment industry directly spoke against Christianity, what are you doing about that?

The gift of salvation is open to anybody and everybody. If a person does not accept Christ that person won't be saved. The sentence "Jesus Christ can't save you" is saying even if you ask Christ to come into your life no matter how hard He tries he can't save you from eternal damnation so you're screwed anyway. Jesus saves, point blank.

The statement Jesus "cant" save you assumes that He doesn't have the ability, which is different from Jesus "isn't gonna save you if you're not true to HIm". The latter statement speaks of a choice to save a person, whereas, JESUS "cant" save you speaks to the inability to. Jesus Christ died on the Cross to provide "salvation" and way of escape from eternal damnation.His resume of performing miracles is endless.Therefore, any Christian who takes offense to J-Z denoting Christ's ability is JUST!

We are not to be of the world but it is every Christians responsibility not to be ignorant to what is happening. Plus you can read the lyrics online without actually listening to the song or being a fan of secular music.

The rest is explained in this video and the last one. Why can't Jesus Christ save the girls who were living whatever lifestyle Jay-Z was talking about in his song? The point is no matter who you are or whatever Jesus can save you. Still, he's influential to many and he offended many so people are speaking up and out about it.

If you are child of God (Christian) Then the fruit you bear will be evident. I see no evidence of Fruit Bearing in the lyrics of Jay-Z's song. Or in the way his life is being lived. I stand for Christ, Jesus Saves!! That was his whole lifes mission. For Jay-Z to make a statement Jesus Can't Savior, He is not a Christian. I will just put it like that. You should spend more time in the word brotha.
