@danster3461 Seals are not marines and marines do 13 weeks recruit training legion 6 months and the 3REI french guyana commando course in 1998 US marines went down to do it the were wearing shirts with ''Silent and aggressive'' on them they also had their mess tins and metal water bottles on their web belts making lots of noise,they took 7 hours to complete it where as the legion did it in 48 minutes.

@CPLK La plupart des officiers sont français, c'est une obligation ! L'Etat français ne laisse en aucun cas uniquement des officiers étrangers à la tête d'une armée. Aujourd'hui il y a 30 % de français dans la Légion.

Un légionnaire ne peut pas "détenir" la nationalité française en étant dans les rangs de la LE. Le légionnaire conserve sa nationalité étrangère "d'emprunt ". Il sera monégasque, luxembourgeois, belge, canadien ou suisse.

When I said this shit Id been drinking from very early in the morning, We were 4 ex Legioonnaires on the piss on a camping holiday, The question arose about the beatings we'd had during our time in the legion. Me being a young gobby brit had my fare share and that is what im talking about. It was a good life but sometimes it was a phuckin nightmare for me, advice to potentials, good life for a single unattached young lad. Just Do It.

When I get home from Canada I'll post another experience.  They weren't all bad but on this night me and my old oppos were talking about the beatings that we'd had or occured to other people. Apart from the very few beatings we had the majority of the time was good and we were looked after very well. As I've said before it's a good life for a young single lad looking for a bit of adventure. viva la legion!
