Hi im a marine ecologist and i can assure you that this is the normal behavior of the spider crab.they are bottom feeders and the reason that it returns to the "same spot"(probably a different crab) is because food at that depth is scarce,so if it has a abundant supply it will return until it is exhausted.

That is a spider crab, it is found off the east coast of the United States(like OCM) , Italy, the Pacific and Indian Ocean. Also native to the Gulf as any fisherman or anyone who has ever gone fishing will tell you. They eat everything without a problem, they usally thrive in a toxic enviroment. They also are the only crab that can walk forward and reverse.

At chernoybl animal/birds that have and are still in the fall out zone are still living. I don't know it does not really look like a real crab... it looks like it has a form of a sponge filter on it's back?! Plus the pink purple color is odd for crabs as bottom dwellers they tend to stay in nuetral colors! Plus the weird hooks on the legs...and close to the body. I don't think it is a crab at all. They have more legs, Crabs have 4 on each side. It is from the phylum, arthropoda, like spiders, and therefore have 8 legs for locomotion. They can loose one or two, but this looks odd.

@sytunsyn I am telling you, much of the footage was NOT shot deep in the GOM. The actual real well was 9000 feet down, not what we were told. A lot of footage was shot around other shallow wells around the world, to hide what truly happened. That there are latittude and longitude markers in the video means exactly nothing.

I wouldn't eat any seafood out of the gulf. According to the FDA, when testing the shrimp, they shelled, devained and headed the shrimp. The average man weighing 187lbs, a save amount of shrimp to consume is 4, yes I said four shrimp in a serving, no more than twice a week.

That is a spider crab, it is found off the east coast of the United States(like OCM) , Italy, the Pacific and Indian Ocean. Also native to the Gulf as any fisherman or anyone who has ever gone fishing will tell you. They eat everything without a problem, they usally thrive in a toxic enviroment. They also are the only crab that can walk forward and reverse.

its not hair, you can tell when the ROV, or what ever it is, in the background blocks out the light. Its spikes coming off the exoskeleton.
We know very little about the deep oceans, who is to say it is not indigenous to the GOM.

.I think it is a tragedy what happened in the gulf and you have my deepest sympathy. However,. just because you think it may be eating toxins it is not impossible for it to survive. At chernoybl animal/birds that have and are still in the fall out zone are still living. However, i do have to say if you are not a marine biologist i really do not think you or I are qualified to make a judgement on what it is is or if it is mutated.

YES, the crab is eating toxins; everything down there is. But if this is a spider crab it is indigenous to the Gulf of Mexico (not Japan as you stated, and why would a Jap fisherman harvest this thing? The Pacific's far off...) so finding one in the GOM is NOT unusual.

I don't know it does not really look like a real crab... it looks like it has a form of a sponge filter on it's back?! Plus the pink purple color is odd for crabs as bottom dwellers they tend to stay in nuetral colors! Plus the weird hooks on the legs...and close to the body. I don't think it is a crab at all. They have more legs, Crabs have 4 on each side. It is from the phylum, arthropoda, like spiders, and therefore have 8 legs for locomotion. They can loose one or two, but this looks odd.

Oh I do agree, there is just too many "oddities" going on. The first and foremost is the stupidity to try to drill the way they did. With loads of evidence from the Russians and others that this was really a foolhardy & dangerous method to produce oil! Typical bottom feeders, the spindly legs move with ease in the silty bottom without raising too much clouds, eat dead animals. Now with the oil at bottom and all the animals killed by the oil/dispersant one wonders what will happen to these and to crabs and all animals living at bottom???
I know in Brittany in France they love to eat these things but there is not much flesh to eat, but suck on the legs only to get the salty juice.

@sytunsyn I am telling you, much of the footage was NOT shot deep in the GOM. The actual real well was 9000 feet down, not what we were told. A lot of footage was shot around other shallow wells around the world, to hide what truly happened. That there are latittude and longitude markers in the video means exactly nothing.

The divine couple have been talking to the life forms to help out against the Axis powers. One of the prime examples of this is the CERN. First time they used a bird, and the whole thing stopped. Next time they tried to start it up they used bugs, which ate the wiring. So I believe they are sending the sea life after these things that the Axis are using. They also sent the bugs to eat the oil slick, and that is what the Axis was removing, not the oil.
