@TheShmida actually no, despite common belief if a captain knows how to trait and setup they have very good dps. In fact on my 65 cappy I am right behind a good champ's dps.
I've never played this game, but is it a requirement to turn so slowly? Do you have to walk backward? Are there no hotkeys? Strafing, mouse-turning and hotkeys are pretty basic to most MMOs, so I can't imagine any good PvPer using them. :/
i might give this game a try since alot of people are playing this game now more people= better fun 300k joining right after the game went free2 play is always a good sign
ok you gotta admit wow did one thing good. their animation and effects. they looked smooth very nice. call races were unique in how they stood, ran jumped fought. and their movement looked real. some these game like like this and rift looked clunky in how they move an fight. that just bugs me. swtor looks etremely promising though.
@portugaltheman6 I hate swtor animations! They are so stiff! By the way theya ctually used same animations as in dragon age? And if you want a game with cool animations, you should really check out Guild Wars 2. Especially Asura race.

And I can also solo 16 elites thats impossible too. Soloing 16 elites is impossible regardless and at lvl 11 there IS no elites. and I bet you cant even solo 5 mobs on your LEVEL 11 captain. If you were lvl 65 I might believe it. Fraps it or it never happened.

Usually I can only take about 2 or 3 badies around my level at ounce with my archer out and fully buffed but they go down so slow compared to others i've seen.
Yo whats up with all the captain hate? Captains bring out the damage stick with the master of war trait, throw up the big heals with hands of healing, and they can buff the shit out of people with leader of man, while still doing decent damage, and healing all at the same time. Captains can pretty much do it all, unlike other classes that just become one sided the entire time.

mann i'm stuck between a Captain and Minstrel... I like instances and I like to heal and support the group but I also like to play music? Can a Cappy stand back and backup heal and are the heals good? all classes can play instruments right?
You can trait muster courage into a self heal at the expense of not being able to summon a herald but still being able to throw down banners, plus once you get your legendary weapons you can pretty much add points to it to bring down the cool downs on almost all of your skills, including the long recharge time of rallying cry to a 6 sec recharge.
@Starioshka no, its like you have to buy new skills at your trainter (NPC) which you can get by lvling, all of these skills have different functions, Heal, DPS,or other extras... combos can be formed when a fellowship manouvre is opened ;)

even though am a huge pvp fan, LOTRO is still epic since the pve and storyline kinda covers up for the pvp but u still have events and those minigames too.
@Sciscope max lvl 65 atm and the best class.....well it depends on what u want, guardian is the main tank can survivive a lot but kills slow, champion is the opposite kills FAST and AoE but cant live as longer, burglar is the stealthy (rouge) class, captian the main paladin, hunter....PEW PEW, warden the best soloer but not a good first classs, lore-master has pets and main CC of the game, minstrel is the main healer, rune-keeper is a ranged class and a healer....but has to chose in a fight.
@gentgent1 the pvp area in lotro is called Ettenmoors.You can only get in the Ettens if you are lvl 40 or above.Until lvl 40 you can't travel there.And if you aren't around the max lvl there,you will most likely be wiped really fast lol

@HothunterzZ U see people get 2/3 shotted because they were alrdy severely weakened, or they were bbeing atttacked by more people. A 1 on 1 fight can take over 5 min, in WOW a 1vs1 lasts a few sec, no matter what gear u have, pvp in lotro takes way more skill since u can crit as hard or as much in WOW.
i playd WoW till 80 and lotro, too. but in my eyes pvp / PvMP is quite as hard as in WoW, but more interesting, cuz of the combat zone, like a war. i think you should try lotro, i playd WoW very much, but in my eyes lotro is the better game, and nearly every guy, who playd both games, likes lotro more^^ just try it :D

@ActaNonVerbaUnrated Lol a LM doesnt do more dmg then a captain. Captain is rly fun to play, and its buffs are so good in fellowship play. If u wanna do much dmg u should roll a hunter/runekeeper/champion. But if u like captain, try it!!! its a rly sweet class
In Lotro you can PvMP as early as level 10, though you have to create a lvl 65 'creep' or one of Sauron's Minions. You start as a green dot and advance to blue dot then finally red dot. You gain rank by killing the Free Peoples. When you hit level 40 on your Free Peoples(freep) character you can go to the 'moors but that is not recommended since everyone will be 65. End-game raid content is very fun. The Moria Instances especially.

Holy crap... Maybe I just totally suck at this. How the heck are you so strong? I can't really solo anything and I'm level 60, have 5,800 morale and over 500 Might. I hit like 270 per hit with crits around 1,200. I don't see how you do it.
U got over 500might like every decent captain, but his high crits come from Devastating blow and Shadows Lament maybe its his weapons of sumthing since i do 2100 Shadows lament with a blue normal Halberd and 1800's with that same halberd while having 537might and 6k morale.
I've got a Reforged Second Age Axe with a damage range of like 120 to 150. Possibly higher than that. I'm not sure. I've been trying to solve my PvP problem for a while, since I can't solo my way out of a paper bag. I still believe Creeps are OP, though. XD

Guardian = Tank.
Champion = DPS/Off - Tank ( Seconday Tank Class ).
Captain = Buffer/Healer ( Thats for in SG tho ).
Guardian is great with health and armour, but lacks DPS/Burst Damage.
Champion is great for DPS and Burst Damage, tho not as good in tanking as the Guardian.
Captain is more of a jack of al trades but master of none, we can do Burst damage, but they can't sustain it. Healing is fine tho.

A 1 on 1 fight can take over 5 min, in WOW a 1vs1 lasts a few sec, no matter what gear u have, pvp in lotro takes way more skill since u can crit as hard or as much in WOW.

i playd WoW till 80 and lotro, too. but in my eyes pvp / PvMP is quite as hard as in WoW, but more interesting, cuz of the combat zone, like a war. i think you should try lotro, i playd WoW very much, but in my eyes lotro is the better game, and nearly every guy, who playd both games, likes lotro more^^ just try it :D

hello there im going to start with Lotro but i dont know what class to play!? im thinking about a captain but my friend tells me they cant do any damage :p should i take a LM or hunter instead?

@ActaNonVerbaUnrated Lol a LM doesnt do more dmg then a captain. Captain is rly fun to play, and its buffs are so good in fellowship play. If u wanna do much dmg u should roll a hunter/runekeeper/champion. But if u like captain, try it!!! its a rly sweet class

In Lotro you can PvMP as early as level 10, though you have to create a lvl 65 'creep' or one of Sauron's Minions. You start as a green dot and advance to blue dot then finally red dot. You gain rank by killing the Free Peoples. When you hit level 40 on your Free Peoples(freep) character you can go to the 'moors but that is not recommended since everyone will be 65. End-game raid content is very fun. The Moria Instances especially.

@qustav37 There is what is called PvMP player vs monster player in LOTRO, you can enter either as a monster or one of your pve toons.

The max lv is 60 and yes ofcourse there is pvp, you battle against the orcs and those are played by other players :)

Holy crap... Maybe I just totally suck at this. How the heck are you so strong? I can't really solo anything and I'm level 60, have 5,800 morale and over 500 Might. I hit like 270 per hit with crits around 1,200. I don't see how you do it.

U got over 500might like every decent captain, but his high crits come from Devastating blow and Shadows Lament maybe its his weapons of sumthing since i do 2100 Shadows lament with a blue normal Halberd and 1800's with that same halberd while having 537might and 6k morale.

I've got a Reforged Second Age Axe with a damage range of like 120 to 150. Possibly higher than that. I'm not sure. I've been trying to solve my PvP problem for a while, since I can't solo my way out of a paper bag. I still believe Creeps are OP, though. XD
