You're invited to a HILARIOUS free master class on the life and music of LIBERACE! Includes analyzations of classic performances and a house tour:) U will LOVE this, type in "Dave Frank" Liberace in YT
Liberace was my first experience with classical music. I was 5 when I learned to play the piano by myself by putting my nose against the tv screen and watching this great charismatic pianist. Thank you, Lee. You gave me a life of music I might not have had otherwise!
Being a senior citizen now I remember coming home from school as a child and watching Liberace's TV show with my grandmother . Every time she saw him play she used to say that's my boy. He had great showmanship and tremendous talent. There is no one quite like him.
ABSOLUTELY PERFECT! Not even one goof or missed note! Brings a tear! My mother used to play that piece, on the piano, for enjoyment! Reminded me of her! THANKS for a good memory!
Liberache and Chopin = EPIC WIN. I've played the piano since I was six years old and am now 32. There are some people that music just flows from. He was one of those people.
he was such a beautiful person and tried to share his deep love for the classic composers.i think he had a deep impact on some children who watched TV in the 50's.i don't know how any person could be this perfect in so many facits of his life and then want to share them.classic music is the backbone of rock.listen to the harmonies.
A master in piano. If he seems corny that's probably he knew quite well showbiz. meanwhile he brought all the masterpieces into a much popular presentation. That was superb. Was is extravagant? of course but he made the best tribute a man can pay on classical music...........Maria
Absolutely true and wonderfully said, Phillip. We will never see the likes of a talent like Liberace again. It was a joy to be able to see many of his 'live' shows over the years and I still miss him every day.
It's true, his showmanship did come to overshadow his musicianship in later years but he could certainly play. He knew technique.
There was an enormously broad and highly cultivated musical mind at work with him. After all my own studies in classical music and composition, the wonder of Liberace still baffles me. There will never - never! - be another like him again. It's not possible!
He knew what he was doing. He was masterful in the classics, yes. And of course other pianists were better in this repertoire. But he would have held his own and had a respectable career. But in the end he made MONEY. A VERY compfortable living. I would like to think, though, that he still played like this at home, for a small circle of friends. (And it's not complete - he omits a varied repeat of the A section near the beginning...)
Superb performance of this wonderful work. Many people are snobbish about Liberace, but here (as elsewhere) he proves that he was a highly talented and accomplished pianist. I am a fan of Paderewski, Horowitz and Artur Schnabel, but in this Chopin performance Liberace finds news beauties and excitement that I have not encountered before. Liberace was a unique pianistic personality and is much missed. Irreplaceable.

I once knew how to play this piece-Nowhere near as good as the master, however. Liberace was a National Treasure. Thanks for posting this. Peace.
