I'm becoming a huge steel pan fan! Electronicsteelpan, I think you have revolutionized Island Music; it was wonderful, happy music before, but now it's an entire Island Music Orchestra!
I believe the description is saying that this instrument is set up in such a way, that it plays just like the original. Some electronic versions require a different playstyle to create the desired notes that would be easily created on an original instrument.
*Reads description* So ya saying musicians/artists no longer need any skill or hard work by getting to know the instruments true nature and how it sounds without being recorded?
@YahwehBenYahweh Welcome to the world of music! You must be new here.
All that instruments like this is give competent players more options - they won't "cover up" for poor players and make them sound like they're competent, they'll just make good players able to do more with their instruments.
@YahwehBenYahweh Ethnomusicologists have argued the differences between electronic and acoustic instruments, there are various advantages and disadvantages. In the end, we all have a true preference.
@sonesh I think one of the biggest challenges of electronic music technician is to capture the true nuances of an acoustic instrument played by a professional. It is evolving, some day it will not be distinguishable for the trained ear.
