  • using way too much kip..

  • Do you even lift?

  • 54 people disliked this video because of the music.

  • *MUTE*

  • not trying to be a dick but technically that was ZERO muscle ups. Every single one was a "no rep". Starting for the half hang is good for beginners and obvously you are far beyond the beginning stages of that so you need to step it up to competition standards. its a better workout too. great strength though. good job.

  • Do it with 1 hand then

  • Some good riffs out there :)

  • fuck the music man, ruines the whole vid

  • love me some graves of valor :)

  • GOTTA WORK ON THAT FALSE GRIP BRO SO YOU CAN HANG AND CONTINUOUSLY MOVE INSTEAD OF JUMPING ON THE TRAIN EVERY 10 SECONDS. JUST MY OPINION THO DONT WORRY ABOUT IT.

  • 'zactly. No turn-out, no full extension, no rep. 30 practice muscle ups for time.

  • love this music, good job

  • he cant fully lock out because the rings aren't far enough off the ground.

  • sorry mate all those are no reps.

you didn't lock out or turn out at the bottom.

  • No turn out and not even full extension. Granted, 70 percent of americans still couldn't do this, however, this should be posted as 30 half ass muscle ups with lame music

  • @NicLaplante81 if we're really honest, 70 percent of americans probably can't do even a single (dead hang) pull up, and these "half assed reps" do look a lot harder than that. there's a kip, but it's not as bad as most crossfit ppl have it, and he even said "kipped" in the title (i don't think full extension is that important here)

  • @driver6969 Obviously I stated that most americans couldn't do a muscle up, however, most americans aren't posting their workout on youtube. Also, kipping is allowed in crossfit but the knees must stay below the waist, and for the rep to count the arms must be fully extended with the palms facing outward to show full extension. These reps he is doing are incredibly easy. So not thinking that full extension is important just shows you obviously have no knowledge of exercise physiology.

  • @NicLaplante81 i'm all for full extension. what i meant to say is that explosiveness and transition from pull up to dip matter a lot more than whether you started at the bottom or a bit below that. obviously the kip helps alot but still most people who can do dead hang pullups couldn't do a muscle up even with a kip. i'm not trying to argue these are great reps, i'm just addressing your ridiculous claim that 30% of americans could do this half assed muscle up, much less 30 reps of it.

  • job for a cowby and gymnastic...dude, that rocked my universe

  • Job for a Cowboy (L)

  • damn!! i wanna rings in my park too!!!

  • Nice music to do muscle ups dude and good work (Y)

  • even being a jfac fan, it startled me at lol, at first anyways... good job man

  • next progression is to turn out wrists at bottom, keep it up

  • No turn out tat the bottom = fail

  • Half pint or not, kid is nuts for his weight

  • I love how the title of the video is "half pint" when I would love to be his size...I guess Im quarter pint lol

  • wtf shit music man :P

  • wow that music is shit

  • Finally someone with relatively decent music on a vid.

  • I think the music is sick! Good work kid

  • Nice... Intense music for and intense exercise!! I listen to Death metal while I work out, and there is nothing that gets your adrenaline pumping more. I contribute that to the major reason I am bigger and stonger than most everyone in my gym. I put the intensity of my music into my lifts!!

  • Cool Vid. Music sucks ass.

  • dude,music is pure shit.

  • IT'S Job for a (Gayboy)Cowboy haha

  • lol i'm watching this video and i'm like "that place looks a lot like UNT... "

    O_O

"that is UNT and i know that guy!"

    it's a small world

  • o boy. he can do crossfat style kipping muscle ups

  • SiC dude and love the music! TO hell with the sensitive ear freaks that would rather listen to ricky martin and workout. GO back to your globo commercial gyms and read your gay magazines on your retarded treadmills if you dont like this vid!!

  • @FitnessPlanB Lol. Just because I don't like screaming screeching growl music doesn't mean I like ricky martin, etc. There's a spectrum of other things. You might want to check it out. As far as fitness I do crossfit and MMA.

  • That is some dirty pig squealing at about 1:25 :')

  • anyone liking this shite music has serious problems

  • only probelms are not straightening arms at the bottom and the music

  • *boid* (hits his skull against the bar) pretty cool skills though..

  • didnt c 1 yet....wheres the turnout at the bottom??

  • You destroyed the mothafuckin' vid with the music retard... -.-

  • nat caal! :/

  • dirty!!! you made kali muscle ur bitch!

  • go back to europe,

  • Music - too - loud - can - not - think - yelling - screaming - AARRGGHH!

  • @RonQE thats the whole point, keep you focusing, keep you amped

  • @johnpsmith84 No, this is just a loud, obnoxious soundtrack added to the VIDEO.

The people working out can listen to whatever they want if it helps, but for a video, it's shit.

  • @RonQE you and the other person who commented on the music are pussies. Quit being a pussy, you pussy.

  • @mawkheaf Wow. Insulting someone who disagrees with you by calling them a "pussy". I'm SO impressed with you! LOL!

  • @RonQE nah, I wasn't trying to insult. You can have your opinion. I think you might have missed the point of the video though. It's supposed to be about physical training, not what genre of music people may prefer. I guess what I meant was dont get so hung up on the music you dont have a pallet for and focus on the subject that was intended to be displayed.

  • @mawkheaf I didn't "miss" the point of the video. The point still is valid, that the music detracts from the video. If the music is NOT important, then the poster shouldn't have chosen such a far-out, extreme piece of noise. It's not just "preference". Only a handful of people would actually ENJOY that.

As for your claims about insulting and supposedly making a point - maybe, next time, make a point, and don't just call people names! LMAO!

  • @RonQE To call it noise is insulting. I think you're underestimating how many people enjoy that kind of music. It bugs me to read/hear such uptight people talk down a genre they know very little about. Your original comment was meant to voice your obvious disapproval of the music, which is in fact insulting to anyone who enjoys it. I will admit music of that caliber is not for most, and sometimes a liking has to be developed over time. Volume knobs DO exist you know.

  • @mawkheaf Oh, wow, some kid who comes on here calling people who dislike this so-called "music", "pussies", now complains about people being insulting!

And you, who call people "pussies" for not liking this CRAP (yes, I know that's insulting - I don't give a damn), to be "uptight"?

    Wow. Such hypocrisy!

I don't even care if people like this stuff. But, considering how few people will enjoy it, and how discordant / dissonant it is, it has to be expected most people will react negatively.

  • @RonQE oh come on, get off the me calling you a pussy thing. I wasn't trying to actually trying to offend you, I was being factious in a playful way. I'm glad to see you're not unfamiliar with the word dissonant. "An unstable tone combination is a dissonance; its tension demands an onward motion to a stable chord. Thus dissonant chords are 'active'; traditionally they have been considered harsh and have expressed pain, grief, and conflict." —Roger Kamien. Sounds musically useful to me.

  • @mawkheaf LOL, I don't get bothered by the whole "pussy" thing, the internet can't be taken too seriously. But it's nice to know you can hold a discussion, too.

Yes, dissonance is musically useful. But usually only when actually resolved into a stable note.

  • I could not stand the devil music

  • @spyu there's plenty of bands that sound almost identical to this that are christian bands. so referring to this as devil music is very pointless.

  • @spyu all music is devil music GETSOME OR GO HOME!!!!!! ROOOOAAAARRR!!!

  • @FitnessPlanB Wow you are hardcore...

  • @spyu job for a cowboy isnt devil music

  • @shenkeey Thumbs don't lie

  • @spyu Thumbs tell the opinion of the majority of people, and the 95% of the people listen to pop etc. That pretty much explains it.

I listen to d'n'b, metal, dubstep, classical, jazz, blues :)

  • common do dead hangs. those are kinda cheating yourself. but still at least your getting yourself up there. nice man

  • nice job chris.

  • hes not even strechting hes arm,,, lol what a pig pussy

  • to have more strength and endurance than flexibility doesn`t make him pussy... maybe u rather flexibility so u can suck u dick

  • lol idiot

You doesn`t train flexibility if you strecht your arm... You get stronger while doing it

    Lol, u idiot

  • The soundtrack to this vid sounds kinda... messy. Too noisy.

Does the creator of this vid actually think this music makes this video better than without this music?

Use some John Mayer or Miley Cyrus music instead. BWAAhaha.

If the movie Deliverance is remaked, they should use this toon at the Squeal Like A Pig scene.

  • John Mayer doesn't got a thing on this masterpiece babe!

  • good exercises. Nice muscle ups on the rings. Barstarzz

  • alter hat der nen busch unter den armen

  • I'd seen vids of guys doing these on pullup bars before, but whenever I tried there was just NO WAY...until a few days ago when I just randomly tried again. I got 2 today and I'm really sore, so maybe I can do 5ish when I'm fresh and really trying. I look kind a lot like this guy body composition wise, he's a bit taller though.

Is it harder on the rings than a bar? Or easier? I'm all of a sudden very motivated to work on pull up type exercises now that I can do these lol.

  • honestly, i think its what you start with. i was doing bar muscle-ups but when i joined crossfit i went to rings and thought it was nuts. ..but then the people there who learned on the rings thought the bar was just as hard. i guess it all depends on what motion you get used to first. but if you're able to do it on the bar a couple times you'll be able to get one or two out on the rings once you get used to the technique. that's my opinion at least.

  • I muted the music asap, no complaints. Those muscle ups are intense, wish I hadn't shied away from gymnastics as a kid. Hello fellow Americans.

  • I dig the song. Nice work.

  • how in shizzys left saggy did u manage that!?!

i struggle do to 3 on a bar lol

    how the hell!!!

  • sick! I can't even do that, but you have a false grip on the rings otherwise crazzzyyy

  • ok nicely done on the muscle ups by the way and forget the music lol if you dont liek it turn your sound off its better than hearing all the grunting and other lifting sounds lol

  • I used to love metal like 3 months ago, yeah this isnt a good example of it , but there is some good stuff out there, now i listen rap, i dont know metal gives a pump n makes me wanna kik sumones ass, but rap is like im chillin yeaaaaaaah, but not all rap is good, tupacs my block song on betterdayz 2 i think is good.

  • I'm curious, how many muscle-ups he would've done if he had been doing em on bar.

  • music sucks..but this guy is beastly.

  • BREEEEEE

  • And there is the problem with Americans today they always find something to bitch about and it's always the wrong thing.

  • You are so correct... and I'm American myself, but not all are like that, but these muscle ups are ill. I tried to do one on a window of an abandoned school, and it wasn't easy. He practices. 5 stars

  • Stop whining about the shit music and realise the fact that this guys doing 30 GOD DAMN MUSCLE UPS!

  • This guy is my brother. He and his friend picked this song because it fit the length of the video. He doesn't particularly like this kind of music anyways.

  • jfac. love it.

  • Normally I would fight for this guy's right to listen to good metal.

    But this song sucks.

  • Oh of course he has the right to listen to metal. I'm not saying he has no right to that. That's a totally different issue from what I'm making the point about. :)

Just because I find it curious that heavy metal has such a white male following doesn't mean the white guy doesn't have the right to listen to it. Of course he does.

My observation is separate from the issue of right.

  • Why do guys wear these half long/half short baggy pants that make their legs look like midget-sized legs? It also makes them look like they have chicken legs.

  • nvm i got it haha

  • song?

  • Song is called "Stupid grunts and early onset of deaf ears for male youth."

  • you have a ton of pit hair

  • kippings is just for time and added cardio full body and all that... dead hang is of course harder.

  • non kipping muscle ups for time? thats stupid lol why do we do kippiong pull ups?same reason. hes doing it for time. the only thing he could have done better was lock out his arms which is still really hard while keepiong false grip. great job man

  • man, alot of faggots on here...I bet 90%of these queers couldn't do 1 kipping muscle up.

good job keep up the good work

  • no shit?

  • well, it's impressive but, call it what it is. it's 30 kipped muscle-ups, not one of them is done with no kip OR straight arms

  • not as spectacular as the annoying music implies but still impressive

  • what are you like 135 lbs?

  • dude i'm thicker and i weigh 135

  • good job man! how many muscle ups can you do on the bar?

  • Not quite full ROM on the bottom, but damn impressive.

  • job for a cowboy, nice

  • does no one realize the only objective was to do them for time? thats why in the description it says "for time"

  • it's not "swinging and flopping" or whatever you call it... It's a technique known as kipping that allows you to use the momentum of your body to get up easier. No one is debating that a "strict" muscle up isn't harder, but kipping isn't necassarily wrong either. And the objective wasn't to do them in a row, it was just to do them at all. lol.

  • @aastewartjr which was made because people wanted to put chinups/pullups in their crossfit workout but werent strong enough to do many reps so they started swinging and cheating and then instead of calling it cheating they just renamed it... its not a new exercise its just a way of cheating at an old exercise. thats like when arnold started doing Cheat barbell curls... they just started calling it cheat curls like it was a new exercise but it was just cheating at the old curls haha

  • word.

  • your a dumbass

  • nobody cares what you think you faggot cock sucking piece of cunt...

  • especially when your name is goldenboyart....

  • even he has poor form u shouldnt diss him

    he is still strong

he can probably do more muscle ups than u

  • dude, hes such a bad ass

  • its not poor form its called kipping

  • you also swung.

  • reallly...????, nice observation sherlock, it's called kipping

  • you barely went all the way down, and barely all the way up.

  • show it before you run your mouth. fatsooooo

  • i would like to be done on bar but still very good not hating just opinion.

  • They are harder on rings. More stabilizing muscles are required.

  • thats awesome

  • This is amazing, well done

  • tht is what u call strengt and power!

    well done,

  • no lockout at the bottom.

  • Don't find that tricky to do when using a false grip?

E.g. it tears my forearm in half haha.

  • Comment removed

  • What's the song?

  • Rising Tide - Job For A Cowboy

  • Hooray for death metal and Crossfit!

  • Your crazy man, after the 4th time my muscles would be sour as hell.

  • theres muscle then power the adrenaline and thats power

  • It isnt required to have large, bulky muscles to have strenght! This guy just has real power because he has defined muscles which are well trained and he knows how to do muscle ups, he uses the swinging power really good!

  • That's POWER right there!!!!!

  • Music is terrible, makes me wanna shoot something, and especially quit watching the video.

  • I've made this comment in similar videos before but why do some white guys (and it's usually white guys) like this kind of stupid music? I bet you that the listeners of this kind of music and these musicians are usually white guys. Won't see black, Asian and Lainto folks listening or producing this kind of music (I mean noise).

  • Why do all black guys like gangster fucking wannabe over-produced shit that's always about the same thing? Im kidding. But that's pretty much what you said. And Im not sure what a Lainto is but Im guessing youre just generalizing another race. Moron.

  • Hmm..you're reading into what I didn't write. I wrote "why do SOME white guys..." and from there you moved to mockery to say it's equivalent of saying "why do ALL black guys". You can refer to my older post to see that I wrote "why do SOME white guys...". I would agree that I also ask the same why do some black guys rap about violence and so forth. This is a question that is asked within black communities too. "Lainto" is merely my typo. I do mean "Latino". No need to pick bones.

  • For your information, Latino is not a race!!! There are white hispanics or "latinos" whatever you want to call it, and then there are black ones with every shade of color in between. The only difference is that they speak Spanish. I don't understand why they want to classify Hispanics as a race. It is like saying that the Europeans are a race.

  • Actually, "latinos" do produce this kind of music. Maybe it has to do with "latinos'" not being a race, but instead that latinos are composed of the white and black race and everything in between. There are popular white hispanic groups from Argentina that produce this kind of music. Sepultura is well known in the states and they are from Brazil. So much for generalization. Just because you don't like the music, doesn't make it stupid.

  • suffocation, god forbid

  • I workout at a crossfit gym with a group controlled stereo (basically, we just all come to a consensus). Sometimes these white powerlifters come in (I'm white too, by the way) and play this crap. It drives me up a wall, mainly because it's so rhythmically all over the place. Some good hard rock like ACDC or early Aerosmith, or even some hip hop is what I consider good workout music - it's got a steady, driving rhythm. This stuff sounds like noise to me.

  • Yes, indeed. To me, this type of music seems to be undirected power. Simply power thrashing without the skillfulness of direction.

  • Looking way more than 30 to me, truly, wicked!

But the music is reinforcing my opinion that there hardly any other profound bands when it comes to grindcore/death metal, or whatever it's called in these days, than Napalm Death and Terrorizer.

  • fucking awesome man!!!

  • wicked brutal on your shoulders I would imagine - rotator cuff stuff - serious. I can do pull-ups with the best of them, doubt I would be into this.

  • nice

  • You're allowed to kip for crossfit muscle ups?

  • allowed isn't the right word. Coach Sommer explains that by kipping u are skipping over the muscles that would normally do the pulling in a regular MU.

Nice video, u have great bodyweight strength/endurance!

  • Yes, it allows you to do the same amount of work in less time, increasing total power output. The workout that the regular muscles miss out on is taken on fully plus some by heart and lungs.

  • its just different. kinda like a kip pull up

  • Strong effort man.
