Yeah, but the voice changer is used to make his voice more mechanical and echo-ey.

Hayden Christiansen on the other hand had a voice changer to sound anything at all like JEJ, and still managed to fail.

If the licensing issues were resolved i think super robot war games would be a hit seller in the US and some parts of Europe but it's a shame, but then again you can always just play japanese one and after a trial and error system you get the general idea of how to play

Licensing issues. As weird as it sounds, Japan is not to blame. They would probably sell here if they could, but because of America's copyright laws and licensing laws, it pretty much renders most of Japan's games involving ANYTHING with copyright in it illegal to sell outside of Japan.

Inter-show interference. Super robot wars games ALWAYS fix eva to have a less sad, mind screwing plot. With all the super mecha heros around, it makes sense that hey wouldn't stand for the bull that happens in eva's plot.

The OG games wouldn't have any licensing problems but there just isn't enough interest here in the west for SRW. The GBA games proved that with their horrible sales. Not to mention the Atlus (the company most likely to localize it) already said they wouldn't do OGs.

The game as it used to be might not be the same later. And that´s sad.

I was including Europe as well when I said "Western Market". How many people in your vicinity who actually appreciate SRW do you know? All of my friends find the series boring because "you basically don't do anything and it has bad graphics (yes, anything that's not 3D is automatically graphically horrible in their eyes)". Then again, most of them can't even appreciate mecha anime...

Well, as you can see at my userpage I tried to show the OG2 (the real one from the GBA) but didn´t have enough free space to continue. Imo it´s fitting in well in 2-d or 3-d (or maybe 3-d effects in 2-d), the only thing that really matters is the gameplay and story anyways. I could add my brother on the list of interested. Never have he played any of them and I showed him SRW Alfa. He got glued to it! It´s true that many are blind to these series... and that´s sad. I guess I got nothing..=(

In Super Robot War, ordinary attacks would normally be completely blocked by AT field, but slightly stronger attacks may break it and inflict great damage to eva... I like Eva series too but I normally didn't use them in actual battle because of their limited steps and easily broken electrical cable which will cease them from actions.

Unit 3 is actually part of the story. You follow down the ep with unit 3 turning into an angel, but Ayato from Rah-Xephon manages to somehow deactivate both unit-01 (dummy plug) and unit-03. Replacing one tragedy for another, since instead of seeing Touji get maimed, we get to see RX ep19 all over again. >.>

I think I understand the Eva units now. The main strength of Eva Unit-02 and 0 is firepower and Eva Unit-01's strength is going berserk and mauling its enemies to death. By the way, for those of you who don't know what that enemy in the beginning is, it's Mecha Black Dragon Hyakki from the 70s Getter.
