  • I am adicted to this song

  • i watched austin powers again yesterday...so i felt i had to listen to the song...WTF??? how can we listen to Justin Bieber these days??? it's a disgrace to all these great musicians

  • Cortana...

  • @MBGamingLegends Oh no!

  • Why they not like woman in America?

  • @JustPetrov It's not about women specifically. It's more about politics or how according to the song America promises great opportunities or good lifestyle but in reality isn't anything but("I don't need your war machines, I don't need your ghetto scenes.", etc.) By American Woman they mean The Statue of Liberty that despite it proclaims that instills freedom and independence, in reality is ironic cuz of oppression from the government, etc. It's a pretty fucked up song really. lol

  • @KalvinEllis should be Ron Paul's theme song.

  • @KalvinEllis as much as I like this song, i do find it offensive that this Canadian band wrote lyrics like that!

  • @AllstonPete Is not Canada in North America?

  • @mdaddley Technically speaking, of course it is; however in everyday discourse it is understood that the "U.S". is almost interchangable with "America". It shouldn't be this way perhaps, but it is. And, I can guarantee you that the Guess Who were not singing about Canada in "American Woman" (It was about the U.S. involvement in the Vietnam War.

  • @AllstonPete plus they are Canadian.

  • @exerminator2000 exactly!

  • LIKE IF YOUR LISTENING TO THIS IN 2012 AND THIS IS YOUR FAVORITE SONG.

  • Kevin Spacey's favorite song!

  • Had the album this was on ... on 8 track. Was my traveling song...great memories~

  • Yesterday was my birthday, and I had my alarm clock set to wake me up at 6:45. The alarm went off on time, and I reached over to turn off the alarm, which was a big mistake. I started twisting the switch that changes how the alarm goes off, from buzzer to radio to off. I accidentally stopped at 'Radio,' and I heard

    "GET AWAY FROM ME!"

Blasting out of the radio. Startled myself and my dad, who happened to be in the hallway. Funniest wake up call ever.

  • I'd LOVVVVVVVE to crank this song up at a local women's liberation organization or demonstration!

  • American Beauty =D

  • I just had sex to this song. The song was better.

  • Saw them in Hawaii. Now I've seen many loud bands--Black Sabbath, Blue Cheer, Cream, Ministry--but these guys were the loudest. Bachman Turner et al just destroyed my eardrums. And I was sitting halfway back in the arena. Plus they put on a great show.

  • This Is Better Than Most Of The Shit Of today.

  • The song "American Woman" was written by a Canadian band.

  • two things rock band 2 and austinpowers the spy who shagged me....

  • like if your listening to this in 356 BC

  • @artvgaeynnnaest5yne5 I'm sorry, the American Woman bitch massacred (genocide) the American Indian as well. When the Indians would kicked the Americans (Whites) ass it was called slaughter/massacre/ambush, but when the Americans (Whites) won it was called victory!

  • @1mparcher thats what it is called in war your an idiot

  • @artvgaeynnnaest5yne5 Vietnam does come into play! But the American Woman (Personality) is very fickle like I said. She went after Vietnam Veterans as well! After she is done with Mexicans, old bald headed men, like me, might be next?

  • @artvgaeynnnaest5yne5 I actually saw this group around 1973 or 74. This song is about the personality of America. They explained they had been stopped in Louisiana for no other reason than looking like hippies. They were bitter because they were detained for something, I can't remember? The American Woman, is the fickle bitch that burnt witches, kept women from voting until 1920, hung blacks, would not let Irish men work, now she is chasing Mexicans, so on, and so on.

  • american woman, american beauty

  • me and my friend matthew were supposed to be takinga test in first hour and me and him are very musical people haha and matt was trying to be all quiet singing american woman... and i was like dont put ropes on music and screamed american woman!!

  • Just to clear this up, this song is not fucking about Women or anything bad about them. It came from a time of war and peace gatherings. America was against it's self in a way, many hated the war in Vietnam. This song represents America, what better way than a Woman. Statue of liberty.

Listen to the lyrics or even look them up, it's obvious you fucking retards.

  • this song has a lot of similarities with led zeppelins whole lotta love

  • Being an American Woman kicks ass :P

  • I'm American. This song is sure as fucking shit anti-american. just listen to the lyrics. Get the hell away with your war, ghettos, and sparkly fucking lights. Read the wikpedia page - this song was improvised spontaneously at a concert when the lead singer began to tire of this materialistic corporate-controlled shitbag of a country.

    And it fucking kicks ass!

  • i always pretend im austin powers while listening to this song

  • How many of you were misinformed that this was a Jimi Hendrix tune?

  • it only proves how thick Americans are. That they think this song praises them, when its an anti american song

  • @303BoltAction it's not a anti-American song, it's more of a anti-war/draft song aka Vietnam...

  • This song put a small town band into the American Song Charts.A small town band out of Winnipeg,Manitoba;in the FAR NORTH COUNTRY CALLED CANADA.They ruled the American Charts at the time.Make sure you listen to These Eyes,No Sugar Tonight,Undun and especially my fav:No time.

  • This song has been made up on stage. It was improvising. Still sounds awesome!

  • why can't my generation have music like this?

  • 30 american woman didn't listin to what he said

  • This song applies in every way w/ what's happening in American society today. American women are wrecked by the backlash that feminism caused. Single motherhood, substance dependency and abuse, fraudulent paternity cases, obesity, pyschological disorders, misandry, and outright false rape accusations are the main reasons (if not the only reasons) why men such as myself are going their own way and opting out of dating American women altogether.
