I'm getiting a rainbow boa soon. I'm 15, and own a ball python, corn snake, and cal king snake.
I know the rainbow is much more of a.... exsperinced owner snake. But all I do is look at snakes, and read of snakes.
I'll get a 10 gallon tank, and a baby rainbow, or 1 foot. A heat pad, and a heat 40 walt heat lamp. spray him with watever four times aday. Is this good?
@rseagles14 That's a good start, you'll just have to watch the humidity. I use a reptifogger, they cost about $45 but completely worth it. I have that hooked up to a digital timer I got at Walmart for $7 and it does 5 minutes of "fogging" 7 times a day. Also, you'll need a substrait that hold moisture, especially if you're going to use a lamp.
As for the heat pad, you'll need something to regulate the temperature. 100 degrees is WAY too hot for a BRB, and even too hot for a ball python.
@VeilsOfVelvet Very easy to work. It's a Brinks digital timer with 6 on/off settings. Just plug it in for 10 minutes to let the internal batter charge, then program in the current time, and then program all the times you want it to turn on and off. I got it at walmart for $12. I have a reptifogger hooked up to it set to full power. So far so good! Have the same setup for my chameleon and a pacman frog. The pacman frog and Rev actually use the same reptifogger, I just split the stream in 2.
have a female also.. and in general if the snake is calm in the beginning, he stays that way.. he might be nippy when he's ready to shed or is too much stressed..
why did he strike at you?

@99strownzu He hasn't bitten me yet. A lot of people say that they are 'nippy' as babies. I hope he stays that way ;)
