  • I was wondering what happens when the air conditioning is turned on? Does the fan clutch have anyway to engage to get more air flowing over the condenser? Or is there another fan that's electric that switches on when the A/C is activated? Thank you for the video! :)

  • @Pooter2026 Fan clutch has nothing to do with the AC system, that's the Aux fan in front of the radiator

  • It's a viscose coupling. When the liquid inside the clutch gets hot, it's viscosity changes and provides drive to the fan.

  • nice video....you should probably note that this applies to essentially all BMWs (I-4, I6, V8, V12) with fan clutches and not just the E38 and E39
