  • Not gonna lie, this is pretty much the coolest thing I've ever seen.

  • @bubbsy7 You have to get out more! ;-)

  • @bubbsy7 couldnt agree with you more

  • So cool! Great job!

  • Put an auger and intake at the edge of the scraper, leading to a pipe routed past the exhaust to melt the collected slush- pump the melted ice chips into the tank! Never run out of water... Won't need to clean up with a shovel anymore.

  • @Bert2368 I think I'll stick to using a shovel. ;-)

  • I meant after that, when it just shoves a lot of it off to the side.

  • @CPD0123a ah, I understand. I just drive it around in a circle and keep pushing it near the side, then run around the rink with a shovel and scoop it up. ;-)

  • NICE!!!

Three questions: How much did it cost to make?

How hard was it to make?

Where the heck do you find two morons to dislike this???????????

  • @CPD0123a it's just made from an old lawn mower. It was probably $20 in steel for the blade. Everything was salvaged. If you can weld, you can make one!

  • @web4deb NICE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I could tell it was an old lawnmower, but just not how hard after the thing was gutted. As for the problem with the shavings, I'd take a sheet of thin metal and mount it at ice level on the edge of the blade to catch it. (Just round off the edge or sharpen it on one side to help it grab the snow and not just push it) Whether it'd actually work or not, I don't know, but I'd think it is worth a shot.

  • @CPD0123a that's about what I did...took a 4' piece of steel bar and beveled it to 45 degrees then mounted it to a frame so it just scraped (shaved) any of the bumps on the ice. Worked great!

  • meanwhile in Canada :P

  • sweet zamboni, nicely done.

  • Nice! And the rink looks amazing too!

  • nice rink. it gave me a zamboner!

  • Very nice. I can almost hear the organ music. :)

  • That's great! I love it!!!

  • where do u put it

  • @gohawksgo19 put what?

  • @web4deb were do u store the zamboni

  • @gohawksgo19 We keep it in the garage! It's more valuable then the car. ;-)

  • @web4deb Maybe you shouldnt answer to these question...i got my motocross stole by answering this lol... just a hint

  • @gohawksgo19 i was hoping you were asking where they put the girl

  • Nice dude nice

  • the safety light is great, thnx ;)

  • Smartest homeboni design I've seen so far!!! The orange light is a nice touch, too.

  • Thats sweet

  • approximatley how much water do u go thru wen u do the whole rink

  • @Americanmuscle0312 the size of the rink calculates out to about 10,000 gallons.

  • They need one of those in the nhl.

  • thats sexy :D

  • haha thats awesome :P would be nice to have some smooth ice here in North Bay Ontario Canada

  • thats amazing

  • Sweet ride! Unlimited Ice Time! Now if I can just figure out how to get ice in Ft Lauderdale! lol

  • @justintj612 i know ppl thats live there

  • amazing.

  • how many people in the world can honestly say this? "Sorry I can't hang out right now, I have to go Zamboni my backyard rink.?" thats awesome. looks like the ice shavings come off the side of the blade though, those cause any problems?

  • Ok, coolest backyard ever!

  • the flashing light is the icing on the cake

  • She Zamboni's... LIKE A BOSS!!!

  • Are you selling these? I just posted a video response of our girls on our backyard rink in MN. We could really use something like this!! It's amazingly hard to get good ice.

  • @SGKEProductions It was just a fun little project. If you can find an old riding mower, just take the mower deck of and hang a blade under it. I almost never use the water on it. Just scrape the ice a bit and then hose it down.

  • invite me to your rink this winter please

  • His daughter made an account just to thumbs down that wiff on the puck haha

  • SICKKKK

  • I have an idea that i think might be possible...instead of making an ice skating ring why coulding you make a path through the would like and ice skating trail????might take some work but let me know you guys opinion

  • You are a fliping genius.

Very cool. Love the flashing light. Safety first :)

  • Way to funny brother..... and the wife driving. Love it. I have my own rink in a barn and I can totaly see my wife drving that sick ride.

  • thats pretty cool...thumbs up

  • This makes me want to go play pond hockey right now.

  • Awesome HUGE rink!! Nice space for skating!

  • did you use a vertical or horizontal shaft engine?

vertical shaft is typical in most lawnmower engines.

  • @pdibbs vertical

  • im way jealous

  • that's actually pretty sick

  • thats actually really sweet

  • this is in connecticut? i always thought of connecticut to be a warmer state. i am from mass.

  • @NHLFANNATIC It's warmer by the shore. I"m in the northeast corner in the hills. It gets COLD!

  • fantastic job! how are you making the hot water?

  • @cupcakechagrin It's just regular tap water from a well....about 52 degrees.

  • fantastic job!

  • are you from vermont? is this in vermont?

  • @FullBlame It's in Connecticut

  • i wish i had a mini iceskating rink. it's awesome to have a good spot and train on your own or with some friends . and just a question is it possible to use a floorcloth?

  • @whickedshell If doesn't leak, you could use about anything.

  • @web4deb ok thx ^^

  • I have to give you props for mechanical engineering and ingenuity. But the best part is making your wife refresh the ice.

So jealous. Live in California so no outdoor rink for me.

  • @thescrounger1 No child brides here....that's my daughter! ;-)

  • Sir... you are awesome.

  • Gotta love Canada.

  • @Bavariamarca Sure do...but I'm born in the USA and live here too. ;-)

  • I have to do it the old fashion way with a mop and hot water.. but if you can really make it look good on a lake or homemade rink, it really is a beautiful sight to look at =)

  • LOL! 3:39 - STEERIKE!!

    Super jealous....awesome rink!!

  • Good job!

  • Haha looks like its takin you quite some time to clean that ice. u could wake up in the morning clean the ice and have to wait til the morning to skate on the ice but then ud have to clean it the next morning hahahaha

  • Thats whats up!

  • good job!

  • nice!

  • you are the absolute essence of cool

  • I have a truckmount carpet cleaning unit and when I have my ice down I start the truckmount. The water is at 300 psi and the temp is about 190 and it makes the best ice EVER. People have said they have never skated on ice that smooth. I spray it blue, and on the snow bank I put up my sign "IceStralia" and put two gum boots into the snow and put up another sign "no diving" People love it and we have fun. Yes I am from Australia.

  • How do you keep the water hot? Can you please send this machine to my cities Park and Rec Department, our ice sucks?

  • Great job! I'm so glad I no longer live in North Dakota where we only have a few days below freezing!

  • wow i wished i lived in a place that had enough space to build an ice rink in my backyard.

  • holy crap. how long did it took you to convert the lawn mower to the mini zamboni?

  • @DJGeorge2007 My wife says "too long"!

  • well when u get snow next and cold weather im coming over to visit u ok? lol

  • where did you get the ready made boards?

  • @izamletonibal I made them. They're designed to quickly bolt together. I can build or tear down the rink in a few hours......

  • @web4deb ok i thought you could just get them somewhere. thanks

  • wow, that rink is HUGE!!!! nice job with the rink and the video.please check out our rink at john's rink mississauga jan 2010. cheers!

  • So Sweet!!!

I'm lucky enough to own a good size pond - Genius! I'm building one! About how much $ was the cost to the mower?

  • I got the mower and tank for free. The engine was no good so I got a small surplus engine replacement. I purchased the steel for the blade and a bunch of purple paint! Maybe $200 at most.

  • whoa...you make me feel so *&^&^ lazy and 'not so bright'....! things we do in the winter! ...and I watch videos! You must be an engineer/inventor...I could see the hydroponics greenhouse in the background. OK ....I'm inspired...I was going to watch 'Liar Liar'...but I think I'll clean out the workshop.

  • I wish I had the ambition to clean my workshop! I have to climb over things to work on my projects. ;-)

  • That is so cool. I wish i knew how to skate better then i do now :P

  • girls in uggs just got twice as cool

  • great little zamboni....that would be a sweet upgrade to my backyard rink.

  • nice
