The only Mustang with a V4 was the original mid-engined Mustang concept from the early '60s; that generation('94-'98) never had a 4 cyl. option, nor has any Mustang since(as of this writing).

Even if that Mustang was a GT, it's V8(when stock) was not rated that much more powerful than the Crown Vic's, and taking into account the likelihood of the limiter being intact, it was not likely to be able to outrun the cruisers.

Also, that aftermarket wing(looks form over function) likely didn't help.

the crown vic the cops use has pretty much the same engine in the standard one. they use the same 4.6L 2V SOHC V8 Ford Modular engine but there are some differences such as a higher idle (roughly 35-40 rpms higher) the speedometer is calibrated to 140. they also give it a slightly larger differential for a bigger gear ratio. 130 is the limit for safe operation on the driveline but they have a speed limiter set for 120... the standard is 110. the bodies stronger too. lol theres more but you know

mph... so at 125mph youd outrun the cops... at the same time depending on the car your in you might snap the driveshaft in half, lose control of your car, or your speed limiter wont let you go any faster... every car with a computer has one(i think 1980 and ^)... most cars wont let you go over 110... keep in mind it is illegal to have your speed limiter removed...
