@pandanus1 Interesting comparison, however Babylon was one state that failed not in technology and progress but in logistics and inefficiency. Also while Western Civilization may have aggravated or accelerated tribal decline, imperialism and slavery were no new topics at the time of the Imperial age. It simply became a global affair. Also Western civilization is no longer blamable for much of the worlds health issues. I cite China, Mongolia, India as 3 major polluters, while the West goes green.
@survivalintl Often times they are reliant on outside intervention to receive medical and general supplies, with out which they would perish. As the number of people on earth expands the room for tribes to hold their lands is limited and the human race simply can't survive in the tribal model. Its a form of government that long ago lost its place in society, much as monarchical governments are dying out. We can remember the history of the people but their way of life must change.
@survivalintl Tribal life is not as easy as you might imagine and is ultimately a failed or inefficient way of life. It fosters conflict (citing Africa), and when in contact with modern civilization erodes naturally over time. You state that for 500 years people have been in correcting in viewing tribal life as unhealthy and worse off. I disagree and counter with examples of the Navajo in the US and the tribes in Africa. Both suffer from shortages and have much shorter life expectancy.
That progress talk is BS, their main motive is to divide destroy and conquer. I love how these people look like the koi-san people of africa. but because of dna testing are probably labeled as asians or even europeans. I for one believe that all nations derived from either the bantu or the koi-san people of africa and thru mixing ,albinism environmental adaptations and food choices developed into many nations.I I also think that dna testing doesn't prove anything.
you need to help them get their orders recognized, that way people could configure laws to accomodate more of their concerns. We live in one world as the Black Eyed Peas said.
Babylon I agree with what you want to say. but what is "the modern way of life" and what not, who can define that? I agree 100% that we shouldn't take the lands that belong to the tribes but I still want to go on with my life, even if it's an industralized one. doing studies, get enough money to found a family maybe. people might fall to greed and forget their heritage but not everyone is like that :/ it's up to you to be strong enough to persue a career while still holding up your roots
I agree with most of the comments below, progress can turn horrible if applied the wrong way and forced down the throat. I think we should respect the tribal populations and try to find a way to live in harmony with them. BUT somehow I also think that many of us are living in a sort of delusion from another kind... it's not as if everything about the "industrialized" way of life is bad and evil, the fact that we're all sitting in front of computers typing this already says enough to me :/
The death of this beautiful planet is in the hands of the NWO.
When the destruction has been done there is no turning around.
Learn to live and save not destroy especially where you have no business. These people live in freedom and nature. They wish to be left alone. How dare
the NWO impose a way of life theses people choose not to be a part of.
Hi i am Rai, clan of Kirat tribe of the Himalayas.
We the native should UNITE and fight the globalization that is killing our mother earth. Nowadays people have forgotten about their roots. We are the last defenders of mother earth. If we loose this war, mother nature will send havoc to this materialistic world.
to learn more about my tribe, check the video--> "sakela~the greatest festival of kirat people"
This festival was once suppressed by the Hindu Kings in Nepal.
You should not called it 'progress'. That word gives it too much credit. It should rather be called 'blind-sighted, slightly more complex variations of past cancerous technologies made possible by the mind-numbing idea that these technologies can grow infinitely'
That's a little more on track ;)
Industrial civilization is not advanced, it's passive, toxic, abusive, exploitative, and stupid, certainly not 'progressive'
Yes, progress can kill. However, it does not have to! It kills when it is imposed. I can actually be quite beneficial if taken at the will of Indigenous people themselves.
What progress? What our society imposes on these people is not progress at all. It is pure genocide. That we think of ourselves as better than them in any way sickens me.
BabylonaFalling, I agree with you, but you cannot force someone to go foward into the modern times. Sometimes going foward like that can bring along horrible changes. I'm not saying they need to stay where they are, but we as western society need to be more patient and understanding. I'm sure they will be willing to be modern when they are good and ready.
Babylon is falling as we speak. Progress in the wrong direction is fatal, humans need to wake up and realize that the western way of civilization is not only harmful for our own health but the planet earth also.
@pandanus1 Yes very true, everything we do now to the earth is harmful from the food we eat today and how we live,it's a processed throw away society, we should revert back to the ways of nature ,and bring the worlds population down. Gluten and dairy is poison!.support the HEMP movement!.. the timber and cattle and tobacco and oil industries are killing this planet!!!

That is right. Change their future. Bring them to the modern life.
I cannot believe that left-wing fascists are forcefully keeping these poor people in the Stone Age. No, you cannot have a computer, we should have a diversity of cultures, we keep cars, you keep a wooden spear.
That is really racism. You should involve them in a modern life. Modern water sewage, heated housing, electricity, paved roads, education, employment.
For the Akuntsu, "modern life" hasn't brought computers and cars. It has brought genocide. Ranchers invading their lands have bulldozed their houses to the ground and tried to extinguish all traces of the Akuntsu. Only six people remain. No outsider speaks their language.
Only when tribal peoples' land rights are respected will they be able to decide for themselves how they wish to live. Until then, outsiders will continue stealing their lands and resources in the name of 'progress'.
Sadly nothing can be done, the US has done it perfectly almost eradicating the Indian population. The MIC will stop at nothing, unless confronted with an equal or stronger force.
The modern way of life isn't really suited for everyone. People abandon their ways, move to the city, to pursue this great dream of ours (economic prosperity and related bollocks), only to find out they were better off, when they lived according to their culture. Modern society makes them forget their heritage, only to appear one and the same as the rest of the world, no difference, one slaved people under the rule of the markets. Bring on the robots!
So Germans forgot their heritage in big cities? They still speak German and celebrate Christmas. So the Japanese forgot their culture? They still keep their wonderful lifestyle amidst all gadgets.
Why do you want to contain these unfortunate people in the Stone Age? Why can't they live in the modern world? They are not your "human zoo".
As far as i know, Germans had a strong resentment towards the modernization and this among many other things influenced the beginning of WWII and Japanese rebeled against modernization/westernization, only to be defeated and conquered by Americans, who drasticly influenced their culture (the generational gap in Japan is huge and Japan has it's own issues related to the tehnological progress (they feel alienated and without any compass to guide them, greed is good, you know)..
Look at all the hardships the immigrants are facing today in out society. They got lured in this shiney world of ours, only to find out, they are unwanted, cheap labour force with no rights. Same analogy (albeit on the smaller scale) is visiable when rural folk move into towns. The second generation wants to move out of the city. And soon, we, in Europe, will live in an 'human zoo', for all the tourists, who will gaze upon our silly ways of living. 'Progress' got out of hands and moved from us.
And mind you, the 'real' european heritage (German included) is pagan, and not christian (which was forced with the sword & the fire & the word). Sure enough, Germans speak german, but look at their ways of being, they resemble American, British, French. There are differences, important diferennces, but under the slave markets, our culture isn't realy relevant.
And those peoples, included in the video clip, aren't really unfortunate. They live by and with the nature, they breath with their environment and do not want or try to conquer it. They are sustainable and posess wisdom that is far superior than our plasticified 'knowledge'. They know how to survive in the nature and we don't. We have to build shit to feel important and superior, only to see our shiney world crumble infront of us. Think outside of the box!
you are truly ignorant. these people dont want all that crap. why cant they live in peace the way they always have, as one with their world? they choose not to have these things. what civilization brings them is disease and poverty. having to slave yourself for a little bit of paper to spend on some food and shelter to survive. they have everything they want there without needing to submit to this slavery. you think your not a slave to large corporation? you are living in denial.
It is unfortunate. but nobody is stopping people from starting their own tribes. Fact being that tribal people live a harder life. people don't want to go back to doing that.
You can try to postpone the end of tribal civilization but eventually it's gonna end completely. No amount of awareness or support is gonna stop that :(
drealgrin, people have been saying that for 500 years. In fact, tribal people who have their land are often healthier and in a better state than those around them.
Their problems don't stem from "living a harder life", but are often a direct result of outsiders wanting the resources on, or under, their lands. Awareness and support can, and has, stopped that.
Google 'progress can kill' for Survival's report on this. It's full of hard facts, and fascinating stories, backing all this up.
