  • I was curious if you could double the pattern to make the pig bigger

  • oh my :)))) they are adorable!!!!!! :))) very good job !!!! Ive been knitting and crocheting basically as soon as I was able to hold the hook lol :)) Love these !!!

  • I just finished this pig en it looks great. But i just think the back legs should be more apart from the front legs. It's butt looks too long right now. So that's the next thing I'm gonna try.

But my compliments on your tutorials! Very clear. I also made your lady bug and changed it a bit. I've made little tentacles on it's head, bigger dots and white eyes with little black dots in it. Please keep up the good work! And feel free to add more. ;) Thanks!

  • @Anzjuhla You have never heard of the long butt pig? Just kidding. :)

When I do tutorials, they are a basic template for you the personalize and make your own. Please share a video response and pictures with your modification when you get it complete. I would love to see the Ladybug to.

  • @tjw1963 Thank you for your reply. ;)

How do I share the pictures of my pig and ladybug? I don't have it on video.

  • This looks really cute and I want to try making but it looks a bit advanced. I'm a beginner and have never done anything like this before, would you suggest that I give it a try based on how easy you think it is or should i make something easier but like what ?

  • The bottom is my comment and I yet still did not hear from you. I'm dying to make this but like I said before in around 7 I did 1 stitch in the first 2 and then 2 stitches in the following and that made 44 stitches not 32. Please help me, thanks

  • When you say 1 sc in the first 2 stitches and then 2 sc in the next stitches. In that row you have 24 so by adding 2 in each that makes 44 not 32 where I'm confused. Please help me. Ty

  • @BeautyfulButterfly13 You are only working 8 increase stitches on round 7. That will give you 32 stitches when you add 8 to 24. You work one single crochet in the first stitch, one single crochet in the next stitch, two single crochet in the last stitch.

  • Woo just started making this. Will finish it tomorrow. Although at one part when you decrease to 24 I didn't get 24 all the way around by doing. I think it was round 22. I think I had 32 and when I followed the instructions I wasn't sure I was finishing on 24 where I should have, but continuing on it came out fine so maybe I was worrying about nothing.

^_^ I like how well you care to explain things though. =] Thanks for that. Will finish this tomorrow when I get a needle. woop

  • thanks for the pattern, its so cute!

  • @littlemissbubbly2408 You are welcome.

  • I am stuck on Round 7. After round 6 there are 24 loops. For round 7 I start out with a single stitch in the first and a single stitch in the second...which then makes 22 loops. Next I am supposed to do two singles in each makes 44 not 32? What am I doing wrong?

  • @burnthegirl Thats my problem too, I've taken it out like 4 times and I keep doing it over and over again and it's still not 32.

  • @BeautyfulButterfly13 There are increase stitches on round 7. Open up the video details below the video and you will see a link to my blog for the written instructions. I have also put the instructions in the video details as well.

  • @BeautyfulButterfly13 You are working 1 single crochet in the first two stitches, two single crochet in the next stitch.

  • @burnthegirl You are missing the increase stitches

  • @burnthegirl I haven't read to see if you got your answer yet but thought I would try to explain it for you...so you have 24 stitches on round six, now round 7 is one single in (stitch 1) one single in(stitch 2) two singles in (stitch 3), one single in (stitch 4) one single in(stitch 5) two singles in (stitch 6), one single in (stitch 7) one single in(stitch 8)

  • two singles in (stitch 9), one single in (stitch 10) one single in(stitch 11) two singles in (stitch 12), one single in (stitch 13) one single in(stitch 14) two singles in (stitch 15), one single in (stitch 16) one single in(stitch 17) two singles in (stitch 18), one single in (stitch 19) one single in(stitch 20) two singles in (stitch 21), one single in (stitch 22) one single in(stitch 23) two singles in (stitch 24), that will equal 32 stitches...hope this helps

  • Thank you so much it's going to be my niece's christmas gift, she's in the hospital and I thought why not something heartwarming :)

  • @savannosaurus This will be a fun present.

  • Amigurumi is so cool, i checked out a book to do some but its rally hard to just read it, thank you very much for the tutorial.

  • Saving this vid for later! I cannot wait to learn this! I know my little cousins would love these. I WOULD love them also :)

  • ....... -_____- Too Fast.. Slow dowwwwnnnn..

  • @HealthyTuna I sent you the beginner playlist.

  • This is an awesome tuturiol. Thank you so much for doing this video!

  • Do you think you can do a video on beanies for dogs? Maybe ones that have animals characters on it like an owl or an angry bird?

  • @MsHorselover8 I do have an angry bird cap and angry bird stuffed toy.

  • @tjw1963 How would I make it small enough for my chihuahua?

  • @MsHorselover8 use a smaller crochet hook

  • made this for my son and it turned out great :) im makeing three more for my three neices for christmas love this pattern so easy to follow :)

  • @babytroysmommy Please share a video response and pictures when you get them finished.

  • These are absolutely adorable!!! I find them very easy to make. I am 12 years old and have been crocheting since I was 6 and a half! Right now I am on round 12. Dp you think you can make an amigurumi panda please? It would be awesome!!!

  • @SpenceAndAria729 I will keep it in mind

  • I just finished my pig! This is the 3rd thing I have crocheted! I did the cupcake hat first then the striped beanie now the pig! Mine is pink with purple eyes. I made it for my daughter and finished it just in time too because she lost her favorite dragon at the store tonight :( Now her pig she has been waiting for is finished! Yay!

  • I have a video of my pig, sorry uploading directly ffom my phone so I can't make it a video response!

  • I just finished mine in purple and I put a little rattle inside it! Thanks tjw1963!

  • @chofascc Did you use a baby rattle or something from a craft store. Great idea!

  • @tjw1963 Something from a craftstore, more like a little bell... I don´t really know the name for it in English.

Anyway, my son loved it and I´m thinking of making 40 of these to give away at my sister´s baby shower. I love what you do, thanks for sharing =)

Greetings from the land of tequila!

  • @chofascc WOW, 40 will be a lot. Take a picture when you get your 40 pigs made.

  • Are these easy to make. I never crochet before and want to learn how

  • @lildoggie2834 If you have never crocheted before, you will want to learn how to do the basic stitches first. I will send you the playlist.

  • Awesome! I just made one!!! I didn't have stuffing though so I stuffed it with toilet paper!

  • @CookieCook81 Well, toilet paper will work as long as you never wash it.

  • I am honestly just starting an I'm trying to make this and I can't get it... I can't even start it. I get up to in the beginning where you are putting the chain that you made into a ring and then you start doing this 12 thing idk what it is and then im lost. It's just not helping. It seems like everyone else is doing fine with it I just don't get it

  • @AliMae2121 I will send you the beginner playlist.

  • @AliMae2121 really? How old are you!? i get it and i'm 12! my cousin gets it also, she's 9. or was it 8?

  • They are adorable!

  • I made one, and I'm working on another one. They are so cute!

  • @melo328 Please share a video response of your pigs.

  • Thank you a million times over for this. I love all your videos! I'm still a novice crochet fanatic but find your instructions relatively easy to follow! Despite a couple of confusing mess-ups (learn a little and go on!) I LOVE the pig and think it's adorable. Will totally take your advice on going a few stitches down for the legs, too - you're right, it totally makes holes! Love your videos, thanks again!

  • this is really cool, do you have a elephant one?

  • @maggiemaymolina81 No elephant at this time

  • You are amazing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am definately making this!!!!!!!

    xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx Yasmine

  • Round 7 confuses me

  • Thank you for your videos. I always wanted to know how to make amigurumi things, and I can't wait to actually get started. Your tutorials are so helpful..thanks again!

  • I have now made 3 of these pigs for friends and family and I have to say they are an easy project and that people of all ages think they are cute

  • @mxd1992 Please make a video and do a response to this video

  • I made the pig according to the video and it came out CUTE!! Then I printed a copy of the written instructions to make more pigs.BUT... I noticed on the written instructions in Round 2 there is an error. The video says to use the back loops on Round 2 but the written instructions dont say that. . Just a little Heads up for all. :)

  • so im on the 5th round an i end up with 18 stitches at the contrast color,,what did i do wrong,,,HELPP??

  • @wishyuhwere You will be working 2 single crochet in each stitch around. Count your previous round to make sure your stitch count is correct. You can find the link to the written instructions in the video details below the video.

  • im a beginner and i still find this kind of hard even though your showing everything perfectly... i am struggling with the first round. i here anyway you can make this video slow down a bit.. like do it in slow motion?

  • @cmille08 You mentioned you are a beginner so it will take some time and practice to work at a faster pace. If you are learning the stitches, you may want to practice on the basic stitches first, then try an easier pattern and come back to this a little later. How long have you been crocheting?

  • Challenge accepted

  • Thank you....I did it, it looks ok...lol..still looks cute on the piggy...Thank for your help and for the video...I made two piggies and now they complete with the tails.

  • @lovemenow0413 You can put your hook below different loops. IF that does not work, put your hook between the yarn strands.

  • Piggy! :D

  • Wow! Perfect tutorial! So easy to follow along, everything explained clearly! It looked so difficult but I had 0 problems! Thank you very much!

  • @Cate512 Thank you! It is great to hear you had no problems.

  • I'm having trouble finding this pattern. Thank you for sharing all your videos. There a big help.Learning new stitches and remembering others.

  • @ggnanny1 I am working on transferring my handwritten instructions to my crochet blog. Some times it takes me a while but I am working on them.

  • D you now any cechet for baby coats or toddler jackets i have found your crochet realy easy to follow.as i cant follow paterns .

  • Thank you SO much for sharing this! It's so adorable I can't stand it!

  • @craftypineapple I am glad you like it!

  • thank you so much for sharing your incredible crocheting gift! i love this tutorial. thank you thank you thank you!!!!!

  • @rbca01 You are welcome! I am happy with how the pig turned out.

  • Just made a piggy with your video as a guide. My piggy came out beautiful. SUPER! I love the clear instructions.

I had the same 'problem' as DanaCarolyn, but I just continued with the pattern and it came out just fine! ;) I made a small adjustment when I made the second two holes for the legs. If I made the 6 stiches, the legs would not have been behind eachother. Thanks! I love my pretty piggy!

  • I had a great time making this cute piggy! I do have a suggestion about the tail that worked really well for me. Instead of going back down the chain using slip stitches, I used single crochet. This made the yarn curl perfectly for a smoother looking, curly pig tail- exactly in a corkscrew shape.

    Thank you for your tutorials!!

  • @fishdork74 I had considered doing the single crochet. Your suggestion is a good one, thank you.

  • Love it. I plan to do this today. What kind of 5 ply yarn do u usually use? Acrylic or cotton it a blend? Can this be done with any yarn as long as re hook matches the yarn? Thanks fr great videos. I learned to crochet using your tutorials. Keep them coming!

  • @DanaCarolyn I was having the same problem. I took out some of the single decreasing crochet, leaving only 8 of them in. That gave me 24 stitches.

  • i couldn't fine the video or instruction to make the feet to the mouse...... please help

  • @fcsonme14 I added the mouse feet after the video was made. They are part of the written instructions. The link is in the video details below the video.

  • Do you have to do the continuous round or can you do it the other way. I got so lost on the continuous round and my legs are a little off. Thanks Liz

  • @liz200520 It will work the same if you join with rounds. You do not have to use the continual round

  • Thank you so much! :D This is my very first handmade Amigurumi!

  • That is so cute

  • wow this is too cute you are so awesome <_M

  • Please, I have a question. Reached round 22 and you're supposed to end up with 24 stitches. However, I end up with 22 following the video. The only way I can get 24 on this decrease round is: *1 single crochet in next 2 stitches, work a single crochet decrease in the next 2 stitches. Repeat from * around. Am making this right now. Help?

  • @DanaCarolyn i am having this same problem. the only way i can think of getting 24 from your pattern is if instead of 32 stitches for the pig body, you have 36, and I REALLY don't want to start my pig over, it looks too cute.

  • @DanaCarolyn Don't let yourself get caught up on numbers. With your 22, continue on with the pattern. It is still going to finish up and look correct. This is a forgiving pattern. If your stitch count is off by a few stitches, don't worry about it.

  • @DanaCarolyn I was having the same issue... I wasn't ending up with 24.... So I just did what you did and I worked 1 sc in the next 2 stitches, and then a SC decrease.... I came out with 24, so thank you for your comment because that helped me fix my problem....

  • @Canthony12

I stopped at round 22 because of this. I didn't have to do it to see if it worked. I did the math, and it wouldn't.

32 times 3/4 = 24, so we have to make TWO single crochet per reduction, since it eliminates one stich every four ones in the previous round.

ONE single crochet per reduction eliminates one in three, which makes no sense in this case (32 is not divisible by 3).

So the most sensible course of action seems to be what you did. I'm going to follow your lead then. =D

  • @DanaCarolyn that is the same thing that happened to me...i just continued on....hope it turns out alright

  • Yay made one this morning, it's got a couple of mistakes but all in all it looks pretty good. Very pleased with myself. Thank you for making it so clear and understandable.

  • so cute! next on my to do list lol!

  •  You could make this into an actual piggy bank. Instead of stuffing it with fiberfill ... Make one that you can fit a 2 liter bottle or a small jug inside then spray starch on it to harden ... Remove the bottle and stitch closed. Stretch out a crochet stitch to make into a coin slot.

  • @BlazinRedxDragon That is a great idea!

  • You make it look SUPER easy! Very cute!

  • I have made my slip knot differently since I started crocheting, now I make it like you because I am so used to it.

I'm also going to try and make the pig bigger so I can make it like a purse. I will post a video if it works

  • It is so cute Teresa....

  • very cute, i wanna try one!

  • you know im subscribed to you and never watch a video. it might be because i dont crochet...but i think some shiz looks really cool! if i crochet, id be watching this. seriously

  • Adorable!

  • This is so cute! I have completed the body of the pig. Now I just need to get him stuffed and closed up and crochet the finishing touches! Didn't take me long at all considering I've never attempted any kind of stuffed animal before! Thx for the easy to follow instruction!!

  • I love this pig!! Thank your for sharing this one and all your videos! I was always intimidated by some of the more advanced stitches until finding your site/videos. You motivate and inspire me! Thanks again Teresa<3

  • oh i saw this one when u fisrt posted it but i saw got a chance to watch it :):) super great video :):) my Son Luvs pigs I'm going to make this one for him :):) (((HUGS)))

  • so cute!

  • Do you happen to know why it's called amigurumi? Very cute btw!

  • @nesseline I know it comes from Japan and has to do with small crochet stuffed animals. Here in America, we have adapted the term Amigurumi for larger stuffed creatures.

  • @tjw1963 the word amigurumi comes from Japan and means cute 'woolen' crochet stuffed animals as ami mean cute and gurumi means woolen animals........it can be crocheted or knitted. :)

  • @tjw1963 Stuffed animals in japan are called nuigurumi, meaning sewn stuffed dolls. Amigurumi means crocheted/knitted stuffed dolls :P

  • @nesseline Ami = to knit/crochet (well, comes from the verb amu, which means to knit), and the gurumi is from nuigurumi, which means a stuffed toy, usually an animal!

  • thanks!

  • Do you the written pattern and how can I find it?

  • @Hopee4848 When I get the written instructions posted, they will be on my crochet blog

  • @tjw1963 Was there a specific reason why you didn't use the magic ring to start it?

  • @TikiPrincess9 The magic ring is an advanced technique that is confusing for some. I did use it on the ears. This way the tutorial show both the chain and magic ring. You can determine which technique you want to use.

  • @tjw1963 don't like the ring but for my Son :) will try it again :)

  • @thomasmccarty09 Use the chain instead.
