i have a 1995 lincoln tc and my dash doesnt have the direction compass i see where its suppose to be but mine is lit up. do you know if there's an on-off setting?
The compass was available as an option on the executive and signiture series towncars. If you want the compass, you would have to do some modifications. You would need to go to a junk yard and find a TC with an auto dimming mirror. You would also need to grab the driver side mirror as that is what has the compass. Then some rewiring would have to be done. If you really want to do this, then search on the forum called lincolns online.
i Find it amusing how digital gauge clusters were so far ahead of their time when they were popular,the First Digital dash appeared in the Late 70's and had their peak popularity in the 80's and early to mid 90's,apparently people didn't like some of their charistics so they began phasing them out and opting for traditional analog gauges....which is also funny because analog is usually phased out for digital,lol.....anyway nice Vid..Digital Clusters Rock!
In europe we have some french car brands (Renault Citroen) that mount digital dashes in their modern cars... check their websites. of course you could'nt know about it since their not available in the US

All town cars from '95 to '97 have the digital dash. Some of them don't have the compass like mine does, not sure why. In the '90, '93, & '94 they have a similar digital dash as standard equipment. The '91 & '92 models have it as optional.

Yeah, it's too bad that the digital dash is fading away. To my knowledge, the Toyota Prius is the only modern car out right now with a digital dash.
