Lots of new features, (unlike past expansions).

@MediaGamerX I've done this rant a hundred times. Do you know where the Pandaren come from? They're the trademark signature of Samwise Didier, the art director of Blizzard. The Pandaren were an easter egg. An inside joke about Didier's fondness of pandas. They slowly became a part of official lore over time as the inhabitants of a mysterious island, which no one had seen before. Indeed, very few had even seen a Pandaren before, save for those few who venture forth into the world on adventure.

@MediaGamerX I could live with that. It seemed all right, a race of enigmatic panda-people living in a mist-enshrouded land far, far away.

The problem is that now Blizzard are removing every single enigmatic and mysterious aspect about the Pandaren and their home.

Now anyone can go there. Now anyone can be a Pandaren. People can fly around on the god damn island. Hell, the Horde/Alliance war is brought to Pandaria!

There is nothing mysterious about the Pandaren anymore.

What i don't like is that the pandaren lore didn't really exist until recently. So blizz pretty much came up with the expansion at the table, wihout having to follow any lore.

And since the pandaren didn't exist in the game, and now we get to play the race, wander their land and so on, when we barely know they exist. Don't like that.

But truth be told, the flaws began appearing during WoTLK.

Did you know that Ner'zhul was destroyed upon merging with Arthas? Supposedly Arthas had planned for this all along - to take full control.

Something like that anyway. Silly.

@MediaGamerX Ner'zhul "is" the helm - his soul is imprisoned within the objects - sword and helm. however the item of corruption was the frostmourne. With frostmourne shattered ner'zhuls powers remained within the helm but his ability to corrupt the host who wore the helm was greatly deminished. Well thats my logic, since in W3 its frostmourne that corrupts arthus to the will of ner'zhul, and the helm that gives him ner'zuls full power.

@greekpokimon According to a novel that is now recognized as canon lore, Arthas destroyed Ner'zhul when he became the Lich King. Something like that, I more or less just went "what the fuck is this shit?" at it and denied it all.

I'm a nostalgic bastard who clings to the old lore, before Blizzard went and fucked everything up.

@MediaGamerX Other than that, Blizzard have generally been disappointing me and innumerable other players.

I personally felt like they hadn't used the money I'd paid them for anything at all, seeing how they fucked up Cataclysm completely.

It was supposed to be a good expansion, fantastic.

It turned out to be quite terrible, disappointing.

Gilneas, which was what I looked forward to the most, is used only twice in the course of Cataclysm. Once for the worgen starting quests...

@MediaGamerX ... And once for a small Forsaken questline. As a worgen you spend about 15 levels there, roughly 10 as a Forsaken at best. And this is from 0-15 / 10-20 if I remember correctly. Which is about one day you will spend in one of the best and most amazing cities Blizzard has ever created.

If you're Alliance, you will never go to Gilneas.

If you're Worgen, you will never return.

If you're Horde, you get a nice little quest and then it's off to Hillsbrad with Kingslayer Orkus.

@MediaGamerX Gilneas is quite probably the best addition to WoW I have ever seen.

Atmospherically speaking, of course. The concept art, the in-game models, the ambient sounds, the music, it's all absolutely brilliant.

Some other roleplayers and I actually roleplayed there for a few months. I think we were about 20 or so at best - the Blackwald Partisans on Earthen Ring, if you by any chance heard about us. I was part of the temporary triumvirate leading the Partisans after the leader vanished.

cool pictures, but i dont think you should give him wings. that puts him in the same category as demons, which he aint. the coolest thing about him is that he was a noble titan, and then became a dark titan strong enough to control all the demons in the universe

that gives you less freedom to design him, but id still say titans can look pretty evil in a cool way
