I think its great, I think you were right to choose something topographical on this site. I think it does relate to its context through the landscaping, the connections and condieration of the water front. To do something that is traditional would be a backward step (historicist) not relevant to contemporary function and meaning.
Very interesting solution. Although I would also have tried to put the adjacent railways (metro?) and the motorway/railway of Centralbron in a tunnel. Combined with some parks it could work towards a full remodelling of the area around Katerinahissen,
BIG are an amazing firm, wish i could work for them one day :)

i particularly like the projects - peoples building, maritime youth house, zira, zero island, escher tower, scala tower and the lego tower - brilliant :D
@feo1488 Both Maya and Max animate and render. It's a matter of preference and interoperability with whatever CAD program you're using. You use Adobe Premiere to create a film reel
Beautiful, modern, clean lines, well thought out planning.
Something you'd expect to see in Singapore or Shanghai. You know, cities where there's no problem tearing down the old to make room for the new.
I love the contrast with the old town and how it melds into the hills of söder. But I doubt that the cultural council would ever consider anything as modern in character as this. It stands out to much from the rest of the city, like a piece of Star Trek spliced into contemporary stockholm...
Probably because that project is meant to stand out, I mean its water front plus mostly public amenities...but I dont have any background infor on the urban planning or context or the project which you seem to know
Irrelevant question. The current structures must be torn down before they collapse on their own (which they will do fairly soon). The only options we have now are what should be built in its place.
I propose a mix between Wingårdhs and Fosters proposals. There should atleast be a line of buildings along the shore to surround ryssgården.
Preferably built in 'old style'. The bridges should be of the same style as the other old bridges connecting Gamla Stan to the rest of the city.
"No architectural connection whatsoever to the surrounding area" Yes it is. there are very modern office buildings around slussen so you are wrong there. And I will ask you. How do you think the world would look if we just made connections to the surrounding area? You have to think new. Freezing wind during the winter? that's just a stupid comment.

Keep it as it is, and its crumbling structures will fairly soon start to kill people...

* No architectural connection whatsoever to the surrounding area.
* To move Kattarinahissen is a big no no.
* Big flat areas that all will be totally open to freezing winds during winter.
One can ask if this is even a serious proposal...

@TheSchlyter By "very modern" do you mean KF-huset that was built in 1912?
The whole world is not the centerpiece of a capital city and right next door to said city's old core.
This whole argument is stupid, this proposal lost to Fosters a whole year ago.
-> Which after some fine tuning now basically is exactly as I said it should be.
=D
