Apparently, they all have interesting names. But he's right on how to unlock them. Default look: Legendary Black Falcon, Comic look: (Doppelganger Fiend/Ashtar) Just beat Normal or Ninja Dog modes, Red Muffler look: (Hotsuma) Just beat Hard Mode, Ryuken look: (Classic NES) Just beat Very Hard Mode and DOA Throwback look: Just beat the special mission titled, Eternal Legend in Mission Mode. So...yea. Awesome to have all these different looks avalible huh?

Incorrect.

You get the Fiend Ninja (Cartoon) from an Easy clear or a normal clear. If you did get the Fiend ninja from an Easy clear, red muffler will be the Normal unlock costume and no longer the Hard clear unlock. after this, clearing hard mode will earn you NOTHING. sort of punishment i guess for clearing it on easy first.

You can also wear the beginnings costume all game if you like.

Hold the left trigger in the main menu choose new game, choose a costume and see when you begin.

Ah the Red Scarfed or known to some as the "Hotsuma" costume. If you don't know, Hotsuma is the main character from the PS2 game Shinobi. The creator of NG loved Shinobi a lot. So to show his love for the game he made a costume that looks similar to Hotsumas costume from Shinobi. But he never liked the idea of getting rewarded with something that looks cool (IE the tate system in Shinobi) if u only kill fast. So he decided to make a 3D game that just looks cool at all times hence the 3D NG. :D

I have all the costumes, since last semtember^^ it was very tough, i managed to pass all the levels in a large hours, with every step taken carefully, with very pacience, the most important.. You're right, legendary black falcon from the start, comic after normal (or ninja dog I guess), red muffler after hard, ryuken (the costume of the first games of NG) after very hard and DOA costume after Eternal Mission.. The only one you are missing is the Original Costume it looks like the costume from the NES games that is it. Otherwise nice job now just beat it on the best difficulty. by the way don't get discouraged if i can beat the final boss without health potions you can make it through Very Hard.

actually, "ninja dog" mode and "normal mode" are considered the same thing. the difficulty level remains the same, but you get powerups that make the game SEEM easier. so, you get comic for beating normal, with or without boosts.

You've beaten in Normal and Hard, you unlocked repectively the Red Muffler and the Ryuken costumes.

To unlock the Comic costume you only have to beat the game on Normal or Ninja Dog dificulty. Unless what I've read is wrong, I passed in Ninja Dog and I don't have it..

But I'm pretty sure that's it!

noooo! i've seen SO MANY arguments about when you get what. and there is no clear answer on the internet. when you go to cheat sights, they give you costume NAMES, but don't show what they look like. There aren't any youtube videos showing what costume is what, so i figured why not :D.
