@Gcorme. Yes but in Sweden you get this type of weather every year. I myself live in the UK and we have the same problem here, we get warnings about the possibility of bad weather weeks before it hits but we wait until it hits and everyone is stranded before we take action. However I find myself quite fortunate as my father was once a European coach driver who drove in all types of weather for many years, so I feel more than safe with him no matter what he's driving.
thank god some people have the sense not to drive, the only vehicles on the road should be 4x4's and cars with chains on the wheels (I have no clue about driving on ice but thats just my opinion)
@J3TPILOT1991 the best thing would be not to drive, I'm Canadian from Montreal area and if you don't know about ice & snow, just don't go for a ride, 4X4 helps yes, but you have to know how to react on snow and you have to know how to react on ice. I give you the +1 I like what you said.
@J3TPILOT1991 4x4's offer a false sense of security. One can easily drive on slippery roads with a 2wd car. All you need are good winter tires and some basic driving knowledge + caution. SLOW DOWN.
@justinkatz441 huh, I don't speed, and I don't get Ice in Western Australia. But yes as I said (well kind of) Cars with chains on the wheels (I guess I could have been a bit more broad spectum there but as I said "Australia", best I get is really cold rain).
yeah i remember that. i left Tennessee heading to Canada like a day before it hit. i heard some bad stuff about it. the southern states are not equipped to handle shit like that.
Or New England too! We have this at least once or twice a year. You just get used to it and deal with it. Down south, they don't even know how to drive in 1cm of snow.
Why is it that anytime there's a news story that involves GA, they put the dumbest redneck with the least amount of teeth on tv? We aren't all that stupid. Or toothless.
Global warming causes weather extremes people. Which means more cold icy weather in different places, and hotter summers. More droughts, and crazy spring weather. Read a blog or a book. It explains everything.
@aboodankaboot - Whether or not you believe in global warming, it's not something that would happen over night, or over a year period. More like a cumulative effect over decades. Also keep in mind that unnatural co2 emissions, such as are produced by industry and transportation, aren't good for the environment whether global warming is a factor or not. Always better to do your own research into both sides of the story though.
I got out of the hospital a day before this storm hit NE GA last January. It was fun recuperating at home watching others slide around.

FWD = "normal" on ice snow
RWD = "bad" no "handling"
AWD = good but if you have Automatic, good luck for control when you lost control
brainless : press gaz,press brake, car lost control again, hmm automatic it's cool but you can't control your car and dumbass can't drive manual

The best way to drive in this weather is to STAY HOME. Just ask someone from Michigan.
