  • He is the best.

  • I thought Richie Benaud only covered games for channel 9 in Australia.

  • the myth of sub continent pitches being flat persist as visiting seam bowlers find the condition difficult. and indian batsman make merry against any kind of spin bowling thropwn at them.

additionally the labels come from anglo-afrikaner world. donot get me wrong they have some great pace bowlers but as everyone would they evolved around seam and hard pitches they struggld in dusty ones. waqar an wasim have grat figures in sub continnt an apat from england struggled relatively in aus an sa.

  • there is no onw better than Brian Lara

  • put more of his batting than someone talking about him ... he doesn't need any introduction... his bat speaks for himself ...

  • Lara is greatest batsman i have seen. His batting talent can be compared only with singing talent of Kishore Da.

  • Lara was a class act as the range of strokes he possesses is something great. The match winning innings that Lara played at Barbados in 1999 was truly amazing. Sachin could never have dreamt of doing something like that.

  • Bestman ponting

  • Lara.. The most stylish player ever. Style with Grace

  • When Lara and Tendulkar, two of the greatest batsmen of all time have acknowledged each other's talent and have immense respect for each other i dont know why the fans of these two great players always belittle them and their talent.

Coming back to the video,Lara was a class act.

  • ntendulkar is not better batsman than lara in any way because he has not get class of strokes that lara possesses. lara is always remarkable for his footwork

  • I would say tendulkar of the nineties was definitely the better batsman as he blasted the fast bowlers of that era better

  • a joy to watch. a gift from God.

  • Lara was all class. Once he would get a start, it would be very difficult to stop him. He was a magician. but, he had his frailties too. He was generally a very poor starter. He had so many big innings, but he had gotten out a lot of time below the score to 20. It was kind of a mix bag. As a bowler, you would hope that you get him out before he finds his groove, because after that it only meant one thing. Leather hunting.

  • tendulkar is better

  • Lara....What a Legend he was...!!!

  • LARA MAKES CRICKET BEAUTIFUL.

  • To me Lara is the greatest batsman of all time. Some say Donald Bradman is the greatest batsman of all time, but he had a far weaker attack to face compared to Lara. Show me the EQUIVALENT of Glen McGrath, Shane Warne, Andrew Flintoff, Muttiah Muralitharan, and Wasim Aqram in Bradman's era... and then I'll change my verdict.

  • @Thor17 Don't forget in bradman's era, it wasn't till the end of Don's career that the lbw rule was amended to allow batsmen to be given out if the ball pitched outside the line of offstump. Imagine how many runs Lara, Tendulker and Ponting would have made if you could not be adjudged lbw from a ball pitched outside the line of the wicket.

  • @Thor17 Here’s the figures in major Test playing nations OUTSIDE of the Subcontinent (Non "flat" tracks) for the 2 Greatest modern day batsmen . AUS SRT- 58.5 Lara -41.9 SA SRT - 46.4 Lara - 46.7 NZ SRT - 49.5 Lara - 36.9 ENG SRT - 62 Lara - 48.8
  • @alllman2000 Its a stereotype that subcontinental tracks are flat....if they are so flat then why do visiting teams find winning here so tough??so tough that the great Steve waugh labeled India as the final frontier....Please get over that stereotype dude

Any player who played for so long like sachin, will consider giving his opening position to a young player, hand see that young player grooms under seniors , but sachin, always wanted to open and dont want to leavethat place -- bloody record cryer. Look at all, just at 160th match only , when R Sarwan came into the side, straight away he gave no 3 spot to him and he started batting at no 5 and 6. .. Even today sachin cries to open simply for records - cannot even play spin bl

  • @tonytt55tony

Lara scores in tests , 500, 400, 375, 277, 226, 216,213,209,202,201 and overall 20+ scores over 150 that too with a team like west indies. All looks to dominate bowlers - great character. and then the way he bats - just is very special .. Class written allover his strokes in his entire career. Sachin, nonsense, same strokes no variety at all. Still at this age, since last 5 yrs - only for records, he is opening innings. he shall give that place to a young player. bldy cryer

  • @pavanlara

Can you upload anymore Channel 4 cricket broadcasts, just like this actual video, please?

  • @tonytt55tony

u foolish idiot. do you even know what is cricket. Your hero and only player who play for records, himsef claims that if he like to watch a batsmens batting then its LARA only. People die to watch laras batting. only for 1 reason. CLASS CLASS and CLASS. Does your sachin has that class and variety in batting. all his batting in all innnings appears 100% same .. no variety at all. Whereas lara - completely opposite. Every single game he shows all new strokes and class,

  • @pavanlara u piece of a shit, u need balls of metal even to play for records.... lara threw away the match against ENGLAND when he got that world record just bcoz hayden had broken lara's record recently .... and u know wht lara got that record against england when england was at its all time low... wen lara himself acknowledges sachin i dont understand ur fukall analysis...

  • @raghav6625 if you are doing anything whether it be playing sports or anything and you have an idol, even though you may have surpassed them you will always believe that they are better than you because you have always tried to become as good as them. Lara has surpassed tendulkar but he doesn't see it because tendulkar is his idol

  • @tonytt55tony

About your bloody 1 day records of sachin. A player who opened innings for 350 + innings will obviously has a better record than a batsmen who only played 103 innings at no. 3 position. Basic common sense. If Lara has a good team and has had to open batting like sachin - more importantly - continuely opening for 350 games in a row, then lara has 60 + odi tons. Look at test record - whos record is good.

  • @tonytt55tony

Lara on the other hand, wherever he play, he bats like a king, with full domination and great attacking ability. Many times lara has scored 500 + runs in a test series and that too with a worlds weakest time in his side. With no support from any other player in the side, still he manage to overtake tendulkars bloody foolish test career. Sachin took 15+ innings to cross laras test runs. what a shame with such a good side and support in his team, still he failed to cross lara

  • @tonytt55tony

How many times Sachin scored 500 runs or more in a test series - do you know. A player who played for 20 years for only records, its a shame that he probably has not even 1 time scored 500 runs or more in a test series. what a pity. 2 yrs ago Mr. Sachin has scored a century against bangladesh. If a Cricket lover see that innings of sachin, he will spit on that innings. Just to score a hundred, he played like a dead duck and also almost put india's chances of winning at risk

  • @tonytt55tony

Lara is 1000% better player than sachin. Who has domination feature in his batting. Who is better spin playing ability -- who is spectators joy. millions around the world, says sachins battings so boring. Lara gives that pleasure that no other batsmen gives. Do you know the meaning of slog. How many times tendulkar toured srilanka - yet he cannot play murali or any other spinner with full confidence and command. Lara toured 1ce and scored almost 700 runs and outplayed murali

  • @tonytt55tony

U foolish idiot. Your bastard Tendulkar is not even 1 % of Laras skill and ability. Since last 20 yrs he is playing with no variety in his batting at all. Whatever you have witnessed in tendulkars battings in 1999 still today you see the same thing with no variety at all. Great brian lara is the only man on the planet who shows 1000% variety in his batting. what you seen in last innings you will not see it again .. Always someting new. Thats Laras greatness. idiot

  • Scored runs and carried the burdern of a weak team. Too great a batsman

  • A marvelous batsman and a true gentleman...

I can't imagine how he would turned out had he been on a side who featured Dravid, Ganguly, Sehwag, Laxman etc

Tendu was lucky in this respect

  • Great players perform irrespective of how competent or incompetent their team mates are. Prime example is Sir Richard hadlee who is one of the greatest ever bowlers despite having played in an extremely mediocre team.

  • i got goosebumbs of that straight drive of hoggard..brian charles lara..ur the best!!

  • tendulkars comes in centureis...but lara has just born..dun expect twice...greatest master of work

  • Lara is best

  • no doubt sachin tendulkar is one of the best batsman in the world but it takes a lot to be ever great BRIAN CHARLES LARA!

  • i have never seen a great stroke maker like Lara in any form of the game

  • truly...the greatest test batsman of the modern era!!

  • What a shot at 1:29.
