They never said sharks were serial killers, and acknowledged that they only kill for food. They said sharks hunt in a manner similar to how serial killers do. Stalking they're prey, finding good locations for their atk, waiting for their target, ect as apposed to just randomly swimming around and chasing after the first thing they come across.

Hunting involves stalking your prey. And 'stalkers' or serial killers incorporate these tactics that we have learnt over the millienias into their movements.

It's mainly due to "hydrostatic shock" the energy is transformed from moving rapidly (projectile) to not moving as fast, the remaining energy has to go somewhere,this creates a shock wave through the body disabling nervous function and damaging organs. Depending on the size and velocity of the bullet the shock wave on impact causes capillaries and organs to burst. That's also why a bullet makes a small hole going in and a larger hole coming out from the force of the shock.
