  • wow, ive been canoeing for years and ive never tipped over. a good tip to have tho is those water shooters lil kids use to absorb water by pulling the other end.. well you use that to get the water out, it works as a suction. but then again it gets water in the canoe because the loads of water fights it causes with the group.

  • @chickamex362 As a canoe tour guide for over 30 years I can tell you this: the method you mention would've taken way too long to empty the canoe.

    What the should've done was:

    1. Have the people in the water completely overturn the canoe.

    2. The canoe closest to them pull up in front of the overturned canoe's end, basically "crossing the Tee".

    3. The person in the water pushes up their canoe's end closest to the rescue canoe, resting the overturned canoe's end on the gunwale of the...

    3 (cont.)... rescue canoe.

    4. Help the RC (rescue canoe) people pull the OTC (overturned canoe) over their gunwales by pushing up from underneath the OTC until the two canoes form an "X", thereby emptying the canoe of ALL water.

    5. Now the RC crew can flip the OTC right side up & push it gently back into the water, ready to handle another boatload of fools.
