  • just take the chrome pickup cover off of the neck pickup and it will sound brighter and more focused. The cover makes a wider field, less focused.

  • Jim Belushi?

  • So basically it looks like a telecaster, but sounds like stratocaster guitar.

    Not original.

  • i have to say i'm a bit annoyed at how fender and gibson are producing so much overpriced gear. you could easily build a much better guitar with way better hardware for a fraction of the price. no one is getting what they are paying for, imo. they better start getting their shit together.

  • Some musicians have these built as replicas for their more expensive, rare guitars. It is difficult to ensure priceless guitars that you travel to gigs/performances with. A replica is a cheap way to play shows with what looks like your signature guitar, without jeopardizing the safety of the original. you would be surprised to learn the musicians that do this...I know some because I am affiliated with a company that builds the replicas.

  • Yes but if your trying to recreate thier old guitars why has it got modern style pickups? making the neck pickup sound "better" makes it sound different to the originals which works agaisnt what your saying.

  • The replicas are for live performances. Use the originals for recording. It is difficult to hear the nuances in tone between the original and a replica during a live show. The replica for live shows is more for the look/image of the band and/or musician.

  • Why would anyone pay so much money for a guitar that fender made look old? It is absurd. If you want that look buy a tele and make it look old yourself.

  • To make it look like a true vintage guitar, it must be a nitro celluose lacquer finished guitar. Most new Fenders are poly finished, not nitro. The poly will not check and show the wear consistent with a vintage instrument. So, if you want to make a guitar look like a true, worn vintage instrument, you need to start with an unfinished body and paint it with nitro. Also, the new bodies are a little different the originals, and you will need to do some work to make it look authentic.

  • Buying a "relic" is freaking gay.

The best part about owning the guitar brand new is these are your marks, your blood, sweat and soul markings.

If someone does it for you at a factory it means nothing other than you want the easy way, which in guitar doesn't exist.

Time, practice, commitment not cash buy these trademarks. I know I'm not anywhere near the best, but at least it's me.

    Cheers from Texas!!!

  • Amen.

  • But a modern guitar will never acquire the kind of wear that an actual '50s or '60s guitar has, because the finishing process is different. You can play your brand new 2008 Tele in smoky roadhouses every night for the next 20 years and it won't wear like an older instrument. Relics are for people who want the older look. Sure, maybe it's cheating, but it's still fun.

And the great thing is that if you still don't like it, no one's going to force you to you buy one.

  • That's correct. The new poly finishes are tough and will not age like the old nitro finishes, though I have seen poly olympic white finishes yellow over the years for that vintage look.

  • amen

  • Are telecasters good for playing rock riffs like Zep or Aerosmith?

  • Jimmy Page did most if not all of Led Zep 1 with a Tele.

  • I own one of these. The sound is just magical. Great guitar. Thank you.

  • I love the look and sound of these relic custom shop guitars, but the 3 saddle bridges always concern me. I know obviously they use these because that was what was used originally, but I have an Callaham 3 saddle bridge on my standard American Tele and intonation is always slightly off. WIth 6 saddles it is a breeze. Does anyone have any problems intonating with 3 saddle bridges? Maybe it's because I use a wound G, but that's the only issue that concerns me with these high end guitars.

  • i played one of those tele relics on a fender blues deluxe reissue, and it was incredible!!

  • No, no It isn't

  • the best tele made so far

  • These guitars don't have the Broadcaster pickup, I think Mike is wrong. They have the Nocaster pickup according to Fender's website.

Great guitars though - mine is awesome :0)

  • i have both these pickups and my babja tele. Does anyone know which one is louder? it seems like the broadcaster is louder than twisted tele, or maybe it just feels that way cause it cuts through more. i need to know cause im starting to think theres something wrong with my twisted tele pickup

  • broadcaster is louder... you can tell even in this video

  • The telecaster really is a workhorse of a guitar.

    I love mine so much.

  • I like the Limited Edition '52 telecaster the best of all his clips...

2nd place -> Heavy Relic Custom Nocaster

    3rd place -> '58 Heavy Relic Telecaster

This guy is talking too much about pickups btw.

  • i don't know what to get this or a '62 strat

  • 62' strat!

  • thanks cool vids pretty good guitarist what knid of setup do you have?

  • THIS

  • i got the '62 lol

  • Fair enough. I'm sure it's a beauty but I really do love tele's.

  • yeah there great... this one was great especially! The nice fat neck and big sound pickups! Can't go wrong but the stratocaster just had a bit more fell and bite! I think I might post a video!

  • Go for it! The more video's of guitars on youtube the better. I know for a fact that a lot of people buy based off of youtube and I (sadly) spend quite a bit of my time just looking at the video's like this one..

  • ZOMG! I'm currently looking for a frickin tele. Of course, this is more than decent, but if only i had the money...=[

  • i like the no middle pickup to. thats why jaguars are my favorites.

  • He says, that he likes that theres no middle pickup like the strats, because they get in the way of picking...I fully agree. The 58 Teles were strung thru the bridge..not the body. String it thru the Bridge and not the body and put a bridge pickup thats NOT flat but with STAGARD pole pieces and you will have one of the best sounding Teles ever.

    MusicMatty67 on Youtube

  • Wrong...it was 59's that were top-loaders.

  • wow that twisted is awesome!!!!

  • i really want one of those now! awesome guitar! :)

  • Awesome video!

  • Finally a explanation on what a Twistet tele picup is!

  • fender.. the best
