Keisha was writing songs with Mutya from primary school. When that partnership ended, so did the invention in the songwriting. Now just accept people have different opinions.

They were going in a direction she didnt want to go. You can see how they are now, just like any other smiley girl group. But back in the day, the songwriting was really experimental. Check out their post 2005 b-sides. A lot were what Mutya was into.

I absolutely adore this song--frankly, it's one of the best I've ever heard. However, the preview that I had heard before listening to the full song included only the beginning with just Mutya, so I thought the whole song kept that sound and stuff. I wish that an alternate version kept that beginning beat for the whole song, but I still like the song as it is, and I agree that it should've been released as a single.

It's not an opinion that when singing live, Mutya was the best entuned, and powerful (check as many Youtube videos as you want), even when having "power" and "range" doesn't mean necessarily to be a better singer (that IS my opinion).
I always thought that John was better singer than Paul, even when Paul could have probably been technically superior. John felt what he was singing (Yer Blues?). I could never get any feeling with Paul, exception made of maybe - ten? songs (Eleanor Rigby, Hello goodbye, Oh Darling, You never give me your money.....).
oooh nice one - well i guess when deciding the John and Paul of any group the moodier more complex person gets the John nod so I'd say Mutya is the John and Keisha's the Paul, but in that same respect looking closely, Paul and Keisha were/are the backbone and rock for their bands. I would have gave Mutya that role as being the backbone of Sugababes, but now that she is gone I agree with you about Keisha. Her voice is very dominate in the harmonies and she still brings that Sugababes sound to the group. If she was to leave, they wouldn't sound like the old SB at all anymore IMO.
lets compare to my once fav group --the Spice Girls - Geri=Mutya as backbone at the start-leading-making it happen - while Keisha=say Victoria or Mel C - doing their part -vital to the group - but letting the boss lady rule. You seem to be a Mutya fan, and Not seems to be a Keisha fan. I would like to know what you both think about Heidi? Judging by the youtube comments she seems to be very popular. I personally think Heidi has the weakest voice in SB and I didn't care for her voice at first. After listening more to SB her voice has grown on me. Some people say she could go solo, but I disagree. She works really well with the other girls and I couldn't see her being solo. She does seem like a total sweetheart.
I agree. I think Amelle has the most power in her voice and range...esp when you listen to her version of Gotta Be You and Red Dress. But I read a interview once where Mutya said she wasn't really allowed to showcase her range in SB and was given lower parts. However, I do prefer Mutya over Amelle. I really love Mutya's harmonies with Heidi and Keisha and their live performances. All in all I think both of them are pretty talented in their own right. I just prefer SB sound with Mutya.

I don't know much about Siobhan since I just got into the SB. I haven't heard any of her solo stuff, but I really liked the album "One Touch." I wasn't totally impressed by her vocals, but did like her songs with SB. I need to check out her solo stuff.

I think the video directors have a part to play in that.
If you listen to Siobhan's music now, and what the band is releasing - it seems like the band wasn't heading where Siobhan wanted to be. It's fair enough and it happens.

I think it's funny that people are still going on about Mutya, after all, it was Mutya that chose to leave. Good on the girls for still making good music, and kudos to a band that can bring in new talent and still be successful.

Mutya used to be the pretty one of the group and now its Heidi cuz I think Keisha is ugly as hell but I give her props for tryin! She also looks like she'd be mean in person!

I'd say that all of us, Mutya fans, are not against Amelle being a Sugababe. If they'd say they like Amelle best would be ok. But it drives us crazy when they say Amelle sings as good as, or even better than Mutya. They show little knowledge about music and singers which is not anymore a matter of taste or opinion.

wha? they show little knowledge about music and singers? WTF? actually if u look at it from a vocal study pov - Amelle has most power and range than Mutya. I'm a vocal student and neutral on this subject so accept it. I'm a Keisha fan so if I was in ur boat I may say the same thing just cuz no one could replace Keisha in my eyes, but I wouldnt be blinded enough by it to think someone who favored who came after her is musically ignorant. You like Mutya's style and voice...that's opinion.

I'm not against Amelle. She's ok. But it's not an opinion that Mutya was lead vocal to most of SB songs (let's ask their producers). It's not an opinion that when singing live, Mutya was the best entuned, and powerful (check as many Youtube videos as you want), even when having "power" and "range" doesn't mean necessarily to be a better singer (that IS my opinion).

I always thought that John was better singer than Paul, even when Paul could have probably been technically superior. John felt what he was singing (Yer Blues?). I could never get any feeling with Paul, exception made of maybe - ten? songs (Eleanor Rigby, Hello goodbye, Oh Darling, You never give me your money.....).

oooh nice one - well i guess when deciding the John and Paul of any group the moodier more complex person gets the John nod so I'd say Mutya is the John and Keisha's the Paul, but in that same respect looking closely, Paul and Keisha were/are the backbone and rock for their bands. Without either...well you would have nothing.

I would have gave Mutya that role as being the backbone of Sugababes, but now that she is gone I agree with you about Keisha. Her voice is very dominate in the harmonies and she still brings that Sugababes sound to the group. If she was to leave, they wouldn't sound like the old SB at all anymore IMO.

lets compare to my once fav group --the Spice Girls - Geri=Mutya as backbone at the start-leading-making it happen - while Keisha=say Victoria or Mel C - doing their part -vital to the group - but letting the boss lady rule. But in both cases as time goes by you see the strength they were/are to the group and its backbone...backbone as in...in the back but very important. hehe i dunno. go to my myspace comedy page "The Googlies" I made a funny pic when Mutya left with Geri and Robbie Williams

You seem to be a Mutya fan, and Not seems to be a Keisha fan. I would like to know what you both think about Heidi? Judging by the youtube comments she seems to be very popular. I personally think Heidi has the weakest voice in SB and I didn't care for her voice at first. After listening more to SB her voice has grown on me. Some people say she could go solo, but I disagree. She works really well with the other girls and I couldn't see her being solo. She does seem like a total sweetheart.

I agree. I think Amelle has the most power in her voice and range...esp when you listen to her version of Gotta Be You and Red Dress. But I read a interview once where Mutya said she wasn't really allowed to showcase her range in SB and was given lower parts. However, I do prefer Mutya over Amelle. I really love Mutya's harmonies with Heidi and Keisha and their live performances. All in all I think both of them are pretty talented in their own right. I just prefer SB sound with Mutya.

loving this convo!Ur onto someting its the blend that not as...well blended. U can hear the individual voices on the chorus as before it was one sound. I dunno Ms voice is so raspy how high can she go? and look at PTB Heidi sings the same notes on the verse it just sounds higher cuz she's a Soprano.& a vocal group had to have it parts and her solo work isnt high is it?..Mutya just seemed to complain a lot to me something i'm sure Siobhan(sp)would have things to say about. what u think of her?

I don't know much about Siobhan since I just got into the SB. I haven't heard any of her solo stuff, but I really liked the album "One Touch." I wasn't totally impressed by her vocals, but did like her songs with SB. I need to check out her solo stuff.

this version is weird.
the shorter version is better.
without mutyas extended verse and theres less instrumentals.
so much better.
this aint bad though.
