Today I was assaulted by a Japanese man. I was scared. He was anold man and he started screaming in my face in the store. The manager of the store came out and started screaming at him, but he just started pointing and screaming at me for no reason. I had no idea what was happening. Two days ago another Japanese man spit at me and my friends like 5 times.That very same day another man was walking all over me and trying to touch me.I must say, I am very dissapointed living here now.
@sparkledust7788 That is so sad :( I've never heard of anything like that happening, where in Japan are you living? Did you talk to the police about it? America perpetuates a lot of negative stereotypes about black people, and since they are the most visible people will people believe them, especially in very culturally isolated places. Also, a lot of countries are very culturally insecure, and will get antsy if a lot of foreigners start to move into their country.
So if i was to take my gay friends and cousin to Japan when i go on location in April, will we be able to fin a venue and how accepting are they of Gay people??
I am a brown American female and would luv to visit Japan. We are not Black, but indeed brown and I refuse to let America dictate who I am and what I look like.
I have an off topic question, what were you studying abroad for in japan, I've been wanting to study abroad, but I wasn't sure what kinds of programs they got any information about that? I would love to know where to start <3
So example, if you are from a country (let say, D.R).Then you come to...let say..the U.S.A and become a citizen. But, then you want to go to Japan, to live,work and have your life there. Would Japan give you the right or the citizenship?
You would still have to give up citizenship from any other country. The better option for most people who want to stay in Japan for a long term would be to get permanent residence. Then you can stay as long as you want as a citizen of your native country, but would not get all the social and political rights that Japanese citizens get. Also, you have to have a legitimate reason to be in Japan for a long time. Working or marrying a Japanese national, for example.
Never been to Japan. My niece taught English in Nara. How I wish I would've visited Japan when I was younger. I love the language and absolutely love Hiroyuki Sanada and Koji Tamaki!
LOL Some of these comments kill me; how DARE you point fingers at Japan being a racist country where the EXACT same problem is going on in America as we speak! (And we're supposedly a country based on diversity). I've heard lots of comments from foreigners who have studied in or visited Japan and 90% of the feedback is positive, so to my fellow African-Americans who would like to visit Japan one day, don't let fear and bogus ppl psych you out. See for yourself, YOU be the judge :-)
Child please, the japanese are like the racist people i know. Almost all the Japanese i know have tendency yo promote their suppose racial superiority over blacks. Several prominent Japanese have made offensive remarks about blacks, including former Prime Minister Yasuhiro Nakasone. One Japanese government official compared prostitutes in Tokyo to blacks who move into white neighborhoods and "ruin the atmosphere." So yes Japanese are racist as whites are, if not more
@ajahamza How long have you spent in Japan? Do you personally know any Japanese? You are making huge generalizations about a people based on what? Something seen in the media..you are doing the same thing that we accuse others of, namely prejudging us based on the garbage viewed about us through the media. Many of the Japanese that I know are Black identified and have a strong understanding of history. Granted they are the exception but try not to generalize about an entire group.PEACE
@ajahamza In 1986 Former prime minister Nakasone said "Afro-Americans and Puerto Ricans, such as educational levels are lower than that of Caucasian-Americans. Thus, the average education level of the whole Americans, isnt significantly higher". I think that this remark lacks in consideration, and was rude, but was almost correct as at that time.
Do you think the remark has evidence that the Japanese race supremacy for African, Afro-American, etc.?
Lol Americans have a warped sense of discrimination. In Japan we don't discriminate based on race but on your refusal to fully embrace our culture. As long as you put the effort and time into learning the language appreciating the culture and NEVER imposing your culture on a Japanese you're fine. It's all about integration and adherence to strict cultural and legal mandates in the country.
Japan will let you live there but they will NEVER let you become a citizen, not even your kids would be allowed to become citizens even if they had a jap dad and were born in Japan. Sorry but its all true, Japan is deeply afaid of their genetic makeup and cultural identity being changed. Its true reasearch thier laws on this matter.
You are incorrect. Kids with one parent who is Japanese have Japanese citizenship. You can also become a Japanese citizen through naturalization. However, you have to renounce citizenship of any other country as Japan does not allow dual citizenship. For more info, google "Ministry of Justice Nationality Law Japan" Please do your research and cite your sources before propagating false information.
@SaitamaFlowers Ok well i heard that you have to be like 4 or 5 generations deep to actually get a Jap passport, i guess my info was wrong or outdated maybe.
@SaitamaFlowers co sign, i know a two black dudes friom HS in osaka with japanese wives and kids all full citizenship. Didn't know they had to renounce citizenship though.
@SaitamaFlowers dear lady, i'm an asian and have to say this, japan do not like foreigners. Japan and other asian countries are not a free swimming pool like US for people to mix. Even the same class asian in society of different countries will also be looked down and discriminated even though we asian share similar gene. Futhermore, once the a japanese commited to live in another country, she/he will not be considered a jap anymore and have to be rejapanize later.
@toweronepower how did i get here??? anyway NOT BEING RUDE AND IM NOT BLACK OK SO IM NOT ATTACKING. i remember watching something on tv about a brazilian that is going to change his status and become a japanese citizen......and i heard of a native american inidan becoming a japanese indian. so i guess if you work very hard you could gain citizenship. but i really would not think japan would want anyone but whites becoming citizens.
@toweronepower Japan has it right i reckon. In the UK people all over the world take advantage of the system to bring as many of their country over. A lot of young Pakistani girls with UK citizenship have marriages arranged with men that are Pakistani citizens only just to bring them to the UK. Sadly when people take advantage of something it will be taken away from everyone.
@toweronepower Yes because I thot Japan and China could intermingle NOPE a Korean guy I know says that China and Japan is very concerned about any of that. The only way you could do that is through American or British citizenship.
@toweronepower very wrong, I'm American and my daughter's dad is Japanese...as long as one of the parents is Japanese and they are married before the child is born, then the child gets citizenship. If the mother is foreign and the father Japanese, but not married, as long as the child is acknowledged by the father before the birth of the child and all the paperwork is filed, the child gets citizenship (which was my case).
I only took formal lessons for 2 1/2 years...but I think it really depends on how hard you study and how much exposure you get. One of my friends was learning Japanese for 5 years and she's basically fluent now. Some of my other friends have been learning for longer and still struggle with basic conversations, so it really depends on your effort. I myself am kind of lazy, but now that I'm living here, I'm improving quickly (or so I'd like to think LOL)
I got a question im 11 and I want to be a mangaka in japan. I f I go to school there will they treat me nice beacuse I watch theese videos where the had horrible school life there and they are black so can you please respong please? :)
Well, I never went to school in Japan except as a University student, so I don't know, but I say that if that's what you want to do, you should go for it. Don't let negative ideas stop you from trying to accomplish your goals. Also, I'm sure if you work hard, your talent will speak for itself and people will respect you for that. If you are a nice person and treat others well, then you should expect the same in return. Don't bother with haters :)
Thanks for the video. Being Black myself was wondering how i'd get my done!? cuz its already hard to get it done here in U.S but now in Japan?! lol can u talk about that?
Unfortunately this video is too quiet for me to hear with the speakers I have set up but the comments seemed interesting. I was just in Japan in May doing a study abroad and it was an amazing experience. It was by FAR the best thing I've ever done and the most fun I've ever had. Im black and I felt no racism at all. Japanese love foreigners (gaijin) and especially Americans (in my experiences and the places I went). Japan is a great place and I will be back
@SaitamaFlowers This may be borderline too personal, but what part of Japan are you in if you're still there? Feel free to inbox if you dont want to make it public
@psford1 I feel the same way!! I went in my junior year of high school (I'm a freshman in college now) and I don't know why but they loved me over there, especially when they found out I was American lol
What kind of internship is it? I know they have teaching programs but I don't want to teach english. Is there another kind of program that will allow me to stay in Japan for an extended period of time with out having to teach english to students?
lovely message and im sorry that your comments had be infected with such ignorant, and most likely racist people. But it is true there are "many" japanese men who are interested in black women its just that it is not known because you have ppl i.e. some below in this comment section who want to taint that view due to them being close-minded. anywho i will definitely be watching your vids :) much love <3
If you visit for just a vacation or something I'm sure there's no problem. And really, the radiation levels in Tokyo and further south are less than big cities in America/less than what's on a plane. The main reason why many people are still worried is the lack of clarity from the govt and fear that another earthquake could further destabilize things. It's not to worrisome in my opinion, but I understand why people are still being careful. If you decide to come, say hello :)
Japanese males would be interested in fucking anything, I have seen videos. And just because someone would have sex with you does not mean they respect you, I have sex with people I have no respect for all the time.
@SaitamaFlowers The Japanese don't like foreigners esp. Black people, period. Pls do a little research on Japanese culture and their attitudes towards darker skinned races. Read stories about the experience of mixed children Black fathers and Japanese mothers. When someone smiles at you doesn't mean he/she likes you. You might have taken in that facade.
If know anything about a lot of places, their attitudes towards darker skinned people are not always favorable. It's nearly a world standard. I am American...and you can't tell me that there aren't plenty of racist people still living in my country. What is your point, exactly? And my Japanese host family, co-workers and SO would be sure to disagree with you about not liking other races. Thanks.
@ SaitamaFlowers what study abroad program did you take and what preparations had to be made b4 you left for Japan?
If I may add my 2 cents to the guy below me, I find the accusations of taking interest in Japan "for the wrong reasons" ironic when white men have been busting this country wide open for decades for the women.
I'm not trying to start an argument --really. I just want you to ask yourself how this all looks to JPN men.
BW aren't going to Japan for the right reasons and it matters.
Haven't you noticed the black men in Japan tend to speak the language and have been there for years? While BW in Japan tend to NOT speak Japanese and are only there for the length of their language "program?"
This is why the famous blacks in Japan are all BM.
@j1607760 If you feel so strongly about your views based on so many generalizations why dont you make a video and show your face and opinions and look at how you sound. Then wait and see how people respond to youl. I dont know why people never have a pic or video up when they are so offensive online. ???????
2.)Even if I did nobody would care what I look like except you.
3.)I don't have to "wait" to see how people respond, as your RESPONSE has shown.
4.)Look at my posts. I've made the comments I have because if black women are trying to make some kind of movement out of this it directly impacts how black people as a whole are perceived abroad because these women are BLACK.
Why can't these desperate BW learn Japanese and the culture first?
@j1607760 what are you talking about Black women trying to make a movement out of what? out of coming to Japan for Japanese guys? seriously get with the program. You have no idea what you are talking about and you have more than likely never been to Japan nonetheless left the USA. A good number of people come to japan no matter their ethnicity because they love Japan. I find your way of thinking small and I have met many Black women here who came to Japan because they LOVE TO TRAVEL.
Since this isn't my video I don't want to message spam it any further. So I'll close by saying this. If you haven't noticed how many vids there are by BW talking about going to Japan (and how they mostly seem to talk only about whether BW can get a Japanese man) then you must be blind.
And yes, I've been outside of the US (although not to Japan) and I'm telling you, BW like you exporting your neuroses for the world to see needs to stop.
I don't see anything wrong w/ black women letting people know that they interested in a variety of different races. I'm not sure what you are arguing about here. And also, I'm not sure where you are getting the idea that black women don't learn the language or the culture....why are you so concerned anyway?
If you want to know how it looks to Japanese men, why wouldn't you ask them?
What are the RIGHT reasons to go anywhere?
You are making total generalizations. The few black women I know attempted to speak Japanese as much as possible...I mean seriously, are you in Japan making these observations or what?
Truthfully, I didn't hear anything of substance. I heard that Japanese guys do like Black girls, and that was all. Where is the actual substance of the video on interracial sociology? Maybe I need to look elsewhere but just a hint of constructive criticism.
Trust me, I have a lot to say on this topic but it's gonna be about 2 more weeks until I can post a video because my computer is broken...but in the meantime, if you are interested in this topic, I suggest you check out GS350JPN's "Do you Love Black Women" clips, DearLifeChannel clips, and Duckduckmousse (even though she didn't meet her husband in Japan) If you message me, i can also send you some interesting reading and point you to some nice threads.
@SaitamaFlowers I am not entirely interested in Asian culture as much as say European and Middle-Eastern cultures, but sociology is very interesting within itself.
Are they assertive enough to demand respect? What are their views on male/female relations in terms of control, etc. My wife is European and I am black, and one thing she does like is how "masculine" I am , which I have heard from black/white relationships, is that a miss? Does income play a huge role? Very interesting topic.
Japanese girls are usely skinny, like really skinny. so if your also skinny or at a healthy weight, they will like you, black white or red. if your over weight black white or red, they prob wont like you. case closed.
Your video is misleading to black females in general. Japanese men like attractive and good looking female like yourself. They do not like fat ugly black girls.
MOST black women are fat. 80-plus percent. Sad but true.
BTW GS350JPN has a Japanese wife as do many of the black men on YouTube who post videos from Japan. They SHOW us the women who they've met and are with.
BW on the other hand never seem able to SHOW us their great Asian boyfriends.
And how do you think the Japanese feel about BW's sudden yellow fever? BW aren't going to Japan because they love the culture, they're going because they're hoping to find a man.
@j1607760 i think a lot of your observations are based on too many generalizations.Have you ever been to Japan nonetheless out of your state? I came to Japan to do something after college as I love to travel. And what do you mean by yellow fever? omg really?! Sorry your comment just pissed me off especially with so many different types of guys coming here and hooking up with the women. And I am not even attracted to a lot of the guys here so i am definitely not here for the guys.
@(SaitamaFlowers) Yes, actually I wanted to start this program called (JET Program), which enables you to learn and teach the culture and language of the Japanese in Japan. I think the Youtuber: "Alafia" is associated with this program :)
Japanese = smart Black = IQ 85 Japanese = clean Black = 50% women have herpes, 75% have bacterial vaginosis Japanese = hard work Black = welfare Japanese = study hard, high level of education Black = usually illiterate Japanese = law abiding Black = 60% felony conviction rate Japanese = polite black = rudest people I have ever met.
Well, I would encourage you to to check up on real statistics, meet different people, and take additional steps to stop being so ignorant. Also, if you insist on being so bothered by the black race, I suggest you watch videos that don't feature them :)
@BobLeKatt you have just made such a racist comment because i dont fall into any of those categories you put up for black people why do you view us so negatively do you know any black people
@ebukachris I'd say that's true in terms of your relationships with people in general, but there are also personal issues like hair, makeup etc that present unique challenges for black women. Also, foreign western women in general tend to have a harder time navigating relationships, and because of the stigma and lack of representation in general, I think it can be difficult for black women sometimes. But we all have different experiences ^^
Yes! My hair is natural...I think I'm gonna talk about products to use when you're in Japan...but I haven't started buying anything from Japan yet so those videos might not be for a while >.<
Wow your video is really good you should make more. I think it's good to here more things about black woman traveling or staying in japan. when I graduate from highschool I'm going to be going to japan . and I will post video's up on my experience in japan. :)
Iv'e always wanted to visit Japan, not just for the anime, but just getting to know the culture and finding a fine Japanese man. :) Sadly I'm still in highschool :(
You have plenty of time then! I didn't go the first time until sophmore year of college. I just graduated college and of course japan is here :) Have you thought about studying abroad?

What kind of internship is it? I know they have teaching programs but I don't want to teach english. Is there another kind of program that will allow me to stay in Japan for an extended period of time with out having to teach english to students?

lovely message and im sorry that your comments had be infected with such ignorant, and most likely racist people. But it is true there are "many" japanese men who are interested in black women its just that it is not known because you have ppl i.e. some below in this comment section who want to taint that view due to them being close-minded. anywho i will definitely be watching your vids :) much love <3

I've always wanted to go to Japan, but with the news about the radiation leak I am afraid to go now.
CurlyKoki 5 months ago
@CurlyKoki
SaitamaFlowers 5 months ago
@mickburke15
You should really work on that spelling and grammar before you go generalizing and insulting a whole nation. I think it would be more effective.

I think it's more narrow-minded to say a whole country detests the entire world, but that's just me.
SaitamaFlowers 6 months ago
@SaitamaFlowers The Japanese don't like foreigners esp. Black people, period. Pls do a little research on Japanese culture and their attitudes towards darker skinned races. Read stories about the experience of mixed children Black fathers and Japanese mothers. When someone smiles at you doesn't mean he/she likes you. You might have taken in that facade.
deshar 5 months ago
@deshar

SaitamaFlowers 6 months ago
Satima
I'm not trying to start an argument --really. I just want you to ask yourself how this all looks to JPN men.
BW aren't going to Japan for the right reasons and it matters.
Haven't you noticed the black men in Japan tend to speak the language and have been there for years? While BW in Japan tend to NOT speak Japanese and are only there for the length of their language "program?"
This is why the famous blacks in Japan are all BM.
Hope 2C ur next vid.
BTW you can google the 80% BW are fat.
j1607760 7 months ago
@j1607760 If you feel so strongly about your views based on so many generalizations why dont you make a video and show your face and opinions and look at how you sound. Then wait and see how people respond to youl. I dont know why people never have a pic or video up when they are so offensive online. ???????
khalilahinjapan 6 months ago
@khalilahinjapan
1.) I don't have a webcam.
Why can't these desperate BW learn Japanese and the culture first?
j1607760 6 months ago
@j1607760 what are you talking about Black women trying to make a movement out of what? out of coming to Japan for Japanese guys? seriously get with the program. You have no idea what you are talking about and you have more than likely never been to Japan nonetheless left the USA. A good number of people come to japan no matter their ethnicity because they love Japan. I find your way of thinking small and I have met many Black women here who came to Japan because they LOVE TO TRAVEL.
khalilahinjapan 6 months ago 24
@khalilahinjapan
Now get with THAT program. If you can.

@j1607760
I don't see anything wrong w/ black women letting people know that they interested in a variety of different races. I'm not sure what you are arguing about here. And also, I'm not sure where you are getting the idea that black women don't learn the language or the culture....why are you so concerned anyway?
SaitamaFlowers 6 months ago
@j1607760
If you want to know how it looks to Japanese men, why wouldn't you ask them?
What are the RIGHT reasons to go anywhere?
You are making total generalizations. The few black women I know attempted to speak Japanese as much as possible...I mean seriously, are you in Japan making these observations or what?
SaitamaFlowers 6 months ago 2
Truthfully, I didn't hear anything of substance. I heard that Japanese guys do like Black girls, and that was all. Where is the actual substance of the video on interracial sociology? Maybe I need to look elsewhere but just a hint of constructive criticism.
KoukiMS6 7 months ago
@KoukiMS6
SaitamaFlowers 7 months ago 2
@SaitamaFlowers I am not entirely interested in Asian culture as much as say European and Middle-Eastern cultures, but sociology is very interesting within itself.
Are they assertive enough to demand respect? What are their views on male/female relations in terms of control, etc. My wife is European and I am black, and one thing she does like is how "masculine" I am , which I have heard from black/white relationships, is that a miss? Does income play a huge role? Very interesting topic.
KoukiMS6 7 months ago
Japanese girls are usely skinny, like really skinny. so if your also skinny or at a healthy weight, they will like you, black white or red. if your over weight black white or red, they prob wont like you. case closed.
volleyball994pimp 7 months ago
Your video is misleading to black females in general. Japanese men like attractive and good looking female like yourself. They do not like fat ugly black girls.
waterturki 8 months ago
@waterturki
I would say that most men are attracted to women who have a healthy weight period...I am not misleading anyone.
SaitamaFlowers 8 months ago 11
@SaitamaFlowers Would you consider Asian or Japanese men have smaller penis? and were you pleased anyway?
waterturki 8 months ago
@SaitamaFlowers
It's creepy.
j1607760 7 months ago
@j1607760 i think a lot of your observations are based on too many generalizations.Have you ever been to Japan nonetheless out of your state? I came to Japan to do something after college as I love to travel. And what do you mean by yellow fever? omg really?! Sorry your comment just pissed me off especially with so many different types of guys coming here and hooking up with the women. And I am not even attracted to a lot of the guys here so i am definitely not here for the guys.
khalilahinjapan 6 months ago
@(SaitamaFlowers) Yes, actually I wanted to start this program called (JET Program), which enables you to learn and teach the culture and language of the Japanese in Japan. I think the Youtuber: "Alafia" is associated with this program :)

lorchesca 1 month ago
Black or white doesn't matter here in Japan, what matters is your Japanese.
ebukachris 9 months ago
@ebukachris I'd say that's true in terms of your relationships with people in general, but there are also personal issues like hair, makeup etc that present unique challenges for black women. Also, foreign western women in general tend to have a harder time navigating relationships, and because of the stigma and lack of representation in general, I think it can be difficult for black women sometimes. But we all have different experiences ^^
SaitamaFlowers 9 months ago
