i didn't know Robert Guillaume has played the Phantom! this is the same guy who was the voice of Rafiki for 'The Lion King'.

god, I cant stand dale kristen! she is not a good actress!! if you want to see a christine acually do something during music of the night, find a video of gina beck in phantom..... wow... :D

@4everPhantomslover I saw them both perform this and there was a lot more movement on the actual stage. I saw Dale perform as Christine 4 times and she did a great job. That little clip does not do her justice at all. She was wonderful to see perform with Michael Crawford as well.

I love seeing differen't ethnicities and voice types play the phantom but I prefer the higher tenor. Like michael crawford and tim martin gealson. The deeper vocie just doesn't do it for me. Robert Guillaum is extremely talented however.

I've been looking for this for a very long time, too. Just a nitpick note, this wasn't from Motown 25, that was in 1983, four years before Phantom came to Broadway, but you're right, this was a Motown special, I want to say from 1993 instead.

Aside from that, I've loved this performance for a long time, and I appreciate you finding it.

Oh, thank you for posting this! I've been wanting to see more of Robert's Phantom after hearing him sing the title song. I really like his voice! The only thing that bugs me about this particular performance is that Dale is just standing there, I wish they could've had her move just a little bit. Anyway, this video is a great find, thanks again for uploading!
