I will say that it is a myth that the pyramids were constructed in some perfect astronomical alignment.  A common myth, but a myth nonetheless. In fact, the pyramids are today in closer alignment then they were back when they were constructed (this maybe the foundation of some of those myths) but since the position of the stars was somewhat different back then, the alignment was not nearly as precise as claimed,
