I think Michael Maze is awesome and I can't wait for him to come back from his injury. His temper doesn't bother me, I just like his style. He could beat really anyone on any given day and I think he know it which is why he gets so frustrated.
Michael Maze is no doubt quite good. His balance is a bit odd though, it looks like he is gonna fall backward at any time during duels. He is a European top player by winning ETTC and European top 12. The question is, i wonder how he and the rest of the world top feels when China season after season spits out new young excellent players that beat them hands down. Heck the Europe players couldent even win against the regional chinese players in the chinese super League.

Watching couple of videos of Xu Xin, here is a little opinion: he looks more like an improved korean type of player than typical Chinese pen grips. He has a very capable range on his forehand, nice service and control, yet has some ability on backhands most korean don't have. He prefer to move further to the table and use his moving ability rather than use the close to table quickness as Ma Lin did. Have a nice touch and clear mind, maybe not that up-to-date in tech, but overall great player

XuXin's footwork is so good that he can nearly use his forehand to do everything. Consider he is only 19, this guy might have very bright future. Michael Maze has lots of passion, but sometime people need to be bit of humble to become great player.
xu xin went easy on him a few pts in game 4. there was no reason for him to keep looping in the same direction at a slower timing than his usual shot. he purposely let maze keep hitting fh so he would calm down. he only let him a few pts though ;)

@andreasfrege um i think he called maze a loser not because he lost to xu xin but rather because of the way he acted. It is bad sportsmanship to throw ur blade and display such anger. its true that this preppyposer guy cant beat maze but hes probably wouldnt throw his racket like maze did.

@PreppyPoser1 Maze is one of the best players in the world and definitely no loser. Of course no one should throw the blade, but in the game the emotions could get high and some players, like Maze, are going crazy, Anyway i dont want to defend the action. I think if Maze were a little bit cooler and case-hardened, he could be the best of the World.

Michael pretty much skipped his childhood to practice table tennis, and mentally at times he can still be a child, so it's not fully his fault. He played a good game against an amazing opponent who a his age has a very bright future

@mikeirvng Tennis players break their rackets all the time, even Federer, who is considered one of the humblest players, broke his racket a few times. It's because some people can't handle stress and do that to relieve their stress.

one of the reasons that live chinteam trial exists is becoz coaches want to show that the national team is fair n transparent.n of coz the team wouldn't let any players to Fup the teams fame
there a so many ppl competing for a single spot in the national team, ery player in the team knows well enough to not risk their career. therefore wangliqin DQ-ed in kuwait was pure gayness

No matter how well Maze plays, he is not going to be a serious challenger to the current Chinese TT prince Xu Xin and king Ma Long. The mainland Chinese coaches are forever better than Maze's second-class Chinese coach or any Chinese coach working outside China, and that's for sure! ☆☆☆☆☆

@MART1EBO1 XX does a fast serve into Maze's backhand knowing that the return will be slow enough allowing him to make a guess.. and he guessed right :) would he be wrong and the ball would come to his forehand he's have time to hit it too.

Xu Xin seems like e great person, and is certainly a great player! He is going to go far in the world of table tennis=)
Maze is as stated before playing with passion, and gets upset with himself when playing bad, or so i do believe, hence the bat throwing. I like Maze and when he is playing his A-game he is the best European player IMO

XuXin's footwork is so good that he can nearly use his forehand to do everything. Consider he is only 19, this guy might have very bright future. Michael Maze has lots of passion, but sometime people need to be bit of humble to become great player.

xu xin went easy on him a few pts in game 4. there was no reason for him to keep looping in the same direction at a slower timing than his usual shot. he purposely let maze keep hitting fh so he would calm down. he only let him a few pts though ;)

yeah I completely agree, my favorite players are usually the Chinese players, but I also have a special admiration for Boll, because he seems like one of the nicest most humble players out there.
