A fan! Cornell has THE most awesome voice in the entire world
NOBODY CAN EVEN DREAM TO SING LIKE HIM!
so to you fucking people who keep on saying that he can`t sing like he used to please EAT SHIT AND DIE!
I have seen him 2 months ago here in Brasil( yes i am from brasil, i am not a monkey and i listen to music) and it was definetly the most awesome moment of my life.
So you people ( if someone that doesn`t like chris can even be called a pearson) try to sing like him.... Well you can`t.
Now THAT... is the sound of Chris Cornell when he was at his best. It's hard to find a live video recording of Chris when his vocals were completely in check, but you can definitely tell he was at the top of his game in this video. Very rare. Great upload, even if the visual quality was poor.
Yesterday I was talking about how the 90's had the best music. The 80's hair was ok, but just listen to this. Fuck the nestles!!! This is where its at!!!
first: there are no words in order to express how thankful I am for that. You uploaded something really meaningful.
second: this performance and this music really show the caracter, the deept, the profoundness, the tallent and the genius of Chris Cornell, the humbliness, the voice and the intelligence of Eddie and the strength of Pearl Jam. Long life to theese great musicians and thanx again for sharing.
Had a chance to see Chili Peppers, Pearl Jam, and Nirvana in 1992 at the Salem Armory for FREE. Didn't go and I will not tell you the reason. Missed the boat, story of my life. I was also in my early 20's at the time and hated the 80's hair band conveyor belt of shit. Hair bands made a joke out of what it really means to make music for the ages. Thank GOD for early grunge, alternative, and Hip hop!
I remember hearing this song and realizing good music still had a chance! This era really produced some fine stuff. Live performances were life-changing.
Temple of the dog is a wonderful band I first heard hungerstrike on the radio and I thought it was going to be these two wonderful singers tearing up a rock and roll album but i got the album and all i heard was cornell except for this song i think they should have given eddie alot more songs the way they did him is fucked up
fucked up?? eddie was a nobody at the time....Pearl Jam wasn;t even formed yet....this was basically his intro to the rock world, though it didn;t become a hit until after PJ became popular...get ur facts straight..
@LiLScHmitty2281 you aren't missing anything if you swtich off the radio and listen to the music that you like. It's annoying how the younger people are always complaining about how sucky todya's music is..well I'm sure the adults in the 90s are also complaining how shitty their music is. There's always a choice you know! I was too young during the grunge period too but I just change stations if I hear a song I dislike!
eddie vedder lent vocals to this song and ONLY this song on the enttire album.....most of the songs were written by Chris(music and lyrics) and all of them were sung by him(masterfully, his best vocal work ever)....eddie had literally nothing to do w/ this band/album except for this song....I suggest u check out the album, this is one of the weaker songs on it in all honesty
@d15er Yea, the demos that were sent to Eddie in San Diego had Matt Cameron drumming on it cuz they didnt have a drummer yet. Kinda funny how now he's drumming with them
yea, totally man. i mite be able to email it but if you know any other ways i can thatd be cool. i can't remeber where exactly i got it, but i got it digitaly. There's one second where it like cuts out, but its still awesome. just lemme know
What an era of music back then. Wow. I was 22 and hated every beer and lifestyle hair band that was out there. I heard Rusty Cage and the next day bought Ten, Badmotorfinger and Mother Love Bone. I don't know what was in Seattle's water back then but THANK YOU
@lickknob11 dude it was the water, the food, the herb and most of all THE SOUL...fuck Iwas a part of it..i miss it soooomuch RIP ANDREW.SHANNON.LAYNE AND THE SOUL OF GRUNGE....................
@mlbmlsnfl Superunknown didn't come out for another 2 years. But I bought that too and met Kim Thayil before their show in Rochester NY on the Superunknown tour. It was the same night as Game 7 of the NHL Stanley Cup Finals, Rangers vs Canucks. We were looking for someone that worked at the arena that knew the area around the venue because we needed a bar to watch as much of the game before they went on stage. We ran into him and security next to the buses.
@lickknob11 Yeah I always related all the glossy pop/rap/emo stuff of today to the hair bands, but luckily I found this, and bought the cds and now I wish this would happen now to knock off all the fake shallow gloss of today. Yeah I always wondered what was in the water up there to make all of those bands so great. I want some. This was about half a year after I was born, so just know that you are lucky. I'd give to have a great scene like this bail us out of the stale music of today.
This is amazing to watch after all of these years. If it wasn't enough to watch them do this for the only time on the tour, off in the distance, you could see a TON of people jump the fence and make a run for the ampitheater. Unreal.
They only did one album and few performances (it was a tribute to Andy Wood of Mother Love Bone). Part of ToTD was already in Soundgarden, and some of the others formed Pearl Jam.
Goddamn, Cornell was a fuckin beast. This takes a hearty dump on the 2003 version i just watched...but you rly can't blame the guy, he's been blastin his vocal chords for decades.
@WillFlex4Food Cornell's voice has recently bounced back a lot after he quit smoking. I agree it won't be as good as when he was in his early 20's but better now than in 2003.
@WillFlex4Food My friends dad grew up thinking Led Zeppelin were the greatest band, and Plant was the greatest singer that ever existed, I showed him Ultramega Ok, Temple of The Dog, Badmotorfinger, and Superunknown, and he realized who is the stronger singer. Since his reunion with Soundgarden he shows how much he can still hit his old notes.
This was Lollapalooza 2. I went to show in Mass where they started 8 bonfires in the crowd after ripping up the entire fence. Scary Lord of the flies shit!
I'm pretty sure that this was at the old "Irvine Meadows" now "Verizon Amphitheater", because I remember Eddy saying that they were going to mess up the song because it was the first time playing it in public.
I was only 10 in 92. Alice in Chains, Soundgarden, Pearl Jam were the bands that got me liking rock music. All these/those guys are legends. Music today is well............nothing compared to he 90's. We had this, kids today have...........Soulja Boy.

Well I'm opposite, I HATE PJ, hate Vedder's voice, turn the station everytime they come on, but I love Cornell, guess I'm picky that way, whaTEVER, i KNOW WHAT i LIKE!
I kept rewinding the end when cornell does the final GOIN HUNGRY because it is so unreal, and i noticed some dude runnin backstage, lol he was runnin from chris's pipes. man chris can sing
You are borderline retarded if you think eddie vedder is a better vocalist than chris cornell. Just because Pearl Jam is more popular than Soundgarden doesn't prove much. It only shows how ignorant people are when it comes to true talent.
I think Chris and Eddie are hugely different. I'd hate to pick between the two, although I personally think Chris is at his best with ToD. Oh and the best vocals I think I've heard live from Vedder were Oceans unplugged. Worth a look.
Chris' voice at its best here, he blows eddie away to be honest, i would have preferred he did the song solo her his voice was so good back in the day.
Hey i´m from Cuba and here we have the heart broken for all about this band and that mad season. Here the comunication is very poor and we looking for way for get more live stuff of all around this way of music from the 90.

To whomever is on the Vedder vs Cornell tirade, I would say when Cornell sells out 20,000 seat arenas in the US, he will be competition.
readyjojoy 3 years ago
You are borderline retarded if you think eddie vedder is a better vocalist than chris cornell. Just because Pearl Jam is more popular than Soundgarden doesn't prove much. It only shows how ignorant people are when it comes to true talent.
bloodstone83 3 years ago 6
I'm not saying vedder sucks, not at all. But I'm just saying that Chris, in my opinion, is a better all around singer counting range and power.
bloodstone83 3 years ago 4
I think Chris and Eddie are hugely different. I'd hate to pick between the two, although I personally think Chris is at his best with ToD. Oh and the best vocals I think I've heard live from Vedder were Oceans unplugged. Worth a look.

Your right, I mean they are both legends. And yeah I think Cornell was about primed out then. But thanks dude I may give that Vedder thing out

to be honest, to say he blows vedder away is a bit of a stretch. But to each his own...

Chris' voice at its best here, he blows eddie away to be honest, i would have preferred he did the song solo her his voice was so good back in the day.
