Heres what you do: Offer people like $2000 to be sterilized, and make the program completely voluntary. Im sure ALOT of poor people and drug addicts would take that deal, and that would reduce reproduction rates of the lower class, and would save money in the long run by not supporting these people with food stamps and welfare programs. In Vegas this week We went to McDonalds to get coffee & sat on a bench like booth where there were 3 little tables & enough room for 3 sets of 2 people Zip in slides a homeless guy. I don't get food stamps because I've worked for contract since I was 11. And the months I make money I usually make too much to qualify..even though I have to stretch that income it out over the next two or three.

When i was little we came form LA to Minneapolis mn, we had nothing but a few hundred dollars for an apartment the owner was very nice and with out him we might of starved, I have a sister and a brother so it was 5 of us and my dad worked in McDonalds, we did get welfare so we had some food but we did go with out food sometimes but luckily we passed through that.
So you went hungry why? Ok, I can see having lean times in winter, one of the 3 main reasons dog was domesticated (easy food source during lean times). But I was there before and saw food all around. I made it as far south as the amazon basin. Yes, I had to go through central america. Main source of meat was howler monkey & wild pig. But fruit was really easy to come by as well.

hot! by the time I was in southern mexico I was in jungle & pretty much stayed there. I had some contact with others but not much until I got to somewhere in south america. never met any rebels either, thou I did come across habitations in the jungle off the beaten track that was being guarded by guys with guns. Maybe that was them? I didn't check personally. The only people I encountered I delt with were of a wilder types that lived in the jungles. And that was educational in itself.

Every situation is different! We dont know hers! First off, well-fare shouldnt be given to those who reproduce more than one child without being married. Its abuse of the system. If a woman has three kids with three diffrent daddys its a scam for money. If a mother loses her husband and has to take care of her children on her own she deserves all the help she can get. I understand the frustration regarding welfare. But obesity is a different subject. American diet has changed as additives have changed. A 6" man in the 50's-60's average weight was around 165 pounds. We don't excercise enough, true, but the additives are TOXIC and fattening. High fructose corn syrup is just as bad as trans fats and hydrogenated oils but affect different organs. The cheapest foods have the cheapest ingredients. Try to stay away from all processed foods and use our crock pots.
I'm not complaining, I'm trying to make people see but many on here seem to be blind to facts. There is a direct coorelation between poverty and being overweight. And by the way I'm surfing utube for a school assignment because I am trying to better our situation by becomming a nurse.
PS Guess what my husband and I are both overweight, and we haven't eaten fast food in quite awhile. The food pantry boxes we have gotten from the local church have had candy and lots of pasta.And canned meats high in sodium. Let me just say that I do have 5 daughters. Before this crappy economy my husband worked a good factory job and we lived with no assistance, had health insurance the works. Now we get food stamps. Sometimes these things happen after the children are born and there is nothing you can do to prevent it. I do now get food stamps while my husband looks for work and I work as a CNA for minimum wage.

people who look fat, are really malnourished ... it what happens when you eat cheaply...ie canned foods, fast foods, etc...they are high in salt, sugar and fat. The body stores this, you look fat, you are fat, but you are malnourished and can become very sick.
because of excessive taxes and regulations on business. Tax cuts will always increase prosperity by giving more moneys to the employers to increase production therefore creating new and stable jobs.
What they need is system that makes them get fixed before getting food stamps. Them put the individual on a weight program that is connect with receiving benfits.
I had to rely on food stamps about 10 years ago when i moved to a new state, I used the debit card for 3 months until I had a steady paying job THEN I DROPPED THE CARD!!! That's what your supposed to do! You use it until you don't need it any more. Welfare is not to be used for years and years. your lucky your getting any money at all and you still have the audacity to ask for more?!! welfare needs to be regulated, every 6 months you should have to be able to prove you still need the aid...
I was on the system also, and it's not a proud moment in anyone's life, I was on for 2 1/2 years (had a child at 17), began working, got off the system. I was again in a situation which I found myself back on the system, but I was on the system for 2 months. I again found work and didn't need the system anymore. Welfare should be there for those who honestly need help. Yes in washington state they are regulating the system. 5 years for cash. Food stamps and medical are a different story
no its not a proud moment, but if you ever lived in any major city the people who are on wel-fare do not want to stop it. its like this, most of the people that are on food stamps see it as extra income, now they don't have to spend as much on food, keeping that extra cash for other things. they don't see it as help, they really expect this to be there for them all the time at the expense of the tax payers. making it harder for people who really need help to get the card

Heres what you do: Offer people like $2000 to be sterilized, and make the program completely voluntary. In Vegas this week We went to McDonalds to get coffee & sat on a bench like booth where there were 3 little tables & enough room for 3 sets of 2 people Zip in slides a homeless guy. Maybe he recharged the same way my wife & I would ours. From the same power source that ran our TV, computer, and refrigerator we had while living on the streets. Get a bike, car alternator, bunch of car batteries & an inverter. Only people that gave us anything was the cops giving us a hard time because we showed self sufficiency & no need of the system. In fact the 'housed' people in the neighborhood would chase off the cops when they tried rousting us out of where we set up.

TV, stove & fridge also. all powered by battery that was recharged via. car alternator & bicycle. In fact you can still get squab in some high class restrants around the world. I know of two in NY city & 1 here in LA that still sell it at around $10.00 a plate. hot! by the time I was in southern mexico I was in jungle & pretty much stayed there. I had some contact with others but not much until I got to somewhere in south america. never met any rebels either, thou I did come across habitations in the jungle off the beaten track that was being guarded by guys with guns. Maybe that was them? I didn't check personally. The only people I encountered I delt with were of a wilder types that lived in the jungles. And that was educational in itself.

Not all were friendly, can't say as I blame them. But most I got was a few scars from meeting them. Others were more then willing to trade with me for some things & passage through their lands. But that was in south america. I didn't see many people in central america though I did see signs of many people. Most seem to hang around urban centers. I saw people in boats on rivers I crossed, but never talked to them or even showed myself. My biggist problem was el tigre(sp?) aka jaguars. Dangerous!

depended on your definition of 'encounter'. Did I see one? Lots of times. Heard more time even. Did I ever fight one? Sorta, one I had cornered in a cave I came across. It was more scared of the flame of my torch then anything & ran away as soon as it saw a break. I know its teeth were at best only an inch long but in the firelight up close (5 foot or so) they looked like they were 3 feet long. Was I scared? Scared is not the proper word actually. But like all fears, once faced it was gone.

Some proteins are essential to our existence, we can make only some of these amino acids the rest we have to take in with our food. As for being fat. Excess food intake of any kind causes excess storage. In most countries that excess storage is called fat. In order to get fat one must eat TOO MUCH. Americans (U.S.) are obese because of the cheap sweetner High Fructose Corn Syrup. It is in literally EVERY thing processed. Including fast food. Also MSG, as long it is less than 100% can be called anything like Hydrolized yeast extract, or even "other natural and artificial flavors," and can still be glutamates. Our "fake" sugars still make us hunger for sweets. Our food system is basically poisened and the cheaper foods are the worse culprits!

Every situation is different! We dont know hers! First off, well-fare shouldnt be given to those who reproduce more than one child without being married. Its abuse of the system. If a woman has three kids with three diffrent daddys its a scam for money. If a mother loses her husband and has to take care of her children on her own she deserves all the help she can get. I understand the frustration regarding welfare. But obesity is a different subject. American diet has changed as additives have changed. A 6" man in the 50's-60's average weight was around 165 pounds. We don't excercise enough, true, but the additives are TOXIC and fattening. High fructose corn syrup is just as bad as trans fats and hydrogenated oils but affect different organs. The cheapest foods have the cheapest ingredients. Try to stay away from all processed foods and use our crock pots.

PS Guess what my husband and I are both overweight, and we haven't eaten fast food in quite awhile. The food pantry boxes we have gotten from the local church have had candy and lots of pasta.And canned meats high in sodium. Just remember things like this when you make comments that assume something about anyone.

Let me just say that I do have 5 daughters. Before this crappy economy my husband worked a good factory job and we lived with no assistance, had health insurance the works. Now we get food stamps. Sometimes these things happen after the children are born and there is nothing you can do to prevent it. I do now get food stamps while my husband looks for work and I work as a CNA for minimum wage.

Have you been to a food pantry lately?? What you need to remember is that people eat what they can get and unfortunately sometimes that is high calorie convienience foods.

I had to rely on food stamps about 10 years ago when i moved to a new state, I used the debit card for 3 months until I had a steady paying job THEN I DROPPED THE CARD!!! That's what your supposed to do! You use it until you don't need it any more. Welfare is not to be used for years and years. your lucky your getting any money at all and you still have the audacity to ask for more?!! welfare needs to be regulated, every 6 months you should have to be able to prove you still need the aid...

I was on the system also, and it's not a proud moment in anyone's life, I was on for 2 1/2 years (had a child at 17), began working, got off the system. I was again in a situation which I found myself back on the system, but I was on the system for 2 months. I again found work and didn't need the system anymore. Welfare should be there for those who honestly need help. Yes in washington state they are regulating the system. 5 years for cash. Food stamps and medical are a different story
