Oh, I - finally - see from the info on your channel, It's Alabama roots & you attended school there. You've got musical tradition -going for you in that neck of the woods, for sure! Nice job on the channel organization, my info was sketchy, I think I was afraid that if I put very many words on that thing, that it would stop me and give message "check your channel description..too long" buzz bermp..! Keep up the good work, & pace the use of that voice-we performers have gifts but must be careful.
Croman here, and yeah, your vocal range is a bit higher than mine. My performing style aims for equal emphasis on complex instrumentation, for a solo, along with vocal. But,as J. Lennon would say "Any-road" (in place of "anyway"),we performers tend to put everything out there too often, so my humble words of advice are"take care of that voice." Hydrate, vitamin C,the works. You would be good at some of Simply Red's tunes. Or that style. I'd be glad to sprinkle in some riffs. Also, Keep writing!
I like the lyrics, and the use of your vocal, this tune seems to utilize it well (I'll also check other videos out). Good tone & flow (feel) on the rhythm basher (guit. fiddle), too. Where was this, from comment you posted on my channel, you must have lived in K.C. at least at some point. Good job on this tune. I like tunes with good messages, yet not too ''preachy.''
The searches I did for that talent contest came up with Fontana Cal.(east of L.A.). L.A. has so many suburbs. My sis and her family are in Brea, her hubby is a piano tuner/consultant. He also recently started a line of tuner's tools. I helped him set up for the N.A.M.M. show, there, in 2005. He was consulting for Sejung Pianos at the time. But you commented on gig at Gee Coffee, which is in a K.C. suburb, where I live - so maybe you were visiting here, or there are more than 1 Gee Coffee Houses.
That was a magnificent song right there.I totally enjoyed that performance very much tonight.I am going to be watching this video forever.I can not wait to hear more.Have a great night and God bless you and your family. That was awesome.
