Don't know why but I'm thinking a lot today and missing my friend Ralph "Moon". He was like a grandpa to me though we were not related. I could talk all day about him, but one thing I wil say is that it's so good to be able to hear that "Howdy"again. And yes, he was and always will be the best steel player ever! But more than that, he was a wonderful, loving person. Miss you, Moon.
Sounds like heaven to me. With a tear in my eye, and a smile on my face this is just absolutely beautiful. Thank you Ralph Mooney for all the great music.
Moon you will live on in our hearts forever God bless Ralph Eugene Mooney .As I was walking out to my truck this morning at 0 dark thirty I could of sworn I heard the intro to "raindy day woman " playing off in the distance . Moon and Waylon back together again
I am so thankful for the technology that allows us the chance to remember greats like Mr. Mooney. He will be missed, but his legacy lives on! GOD bless the Mooney family.
RIP Moon. Jessi, if you could, please add that this recording is taken from Marty Stuart's 2010 record "Ghost Train: The Studio B Sessions". All photos are copyright Adam Smith photography.
I think that without Ralph Mooney, Waylons, Haggard , Owens, Wynn Stewart's music would not have been the same. His playing seemed to bring an artist back on track if they were a little off on a performance. I believe that he was the reason I liked Waylons music as much as I did. As a steel player myself he is also whom I aspire to. Thanks for the Video.
there was no greater than the Moon. I had the pleasure to tour with him for a few short years.
