  • holy crap hes coming to my school tomorow...

  • He can teach like a boss as well as play. It's funny when your sitting in practice and hes just goes to town with ome sort of solo on your drum for 5 min. Blows my freaking mind everytime he does it.

  • This guy is crazy egotistical. He helps my schools drumline sometimes and when he saw my friend play, he said, "You sound pretty good for someone I haven't taught." sooooooo, yeah

  • @Japnoyboi3 Nick Angelis and Jeff Queen said they wanted to age out together. yes they're friends :)

  • cool. this guy used to help instruct the my schools dumline. guess i missed a helluva experience and according to the veterans still on the line, alot of pain

  • this guy is the best ever hes coming to our school soon :) love this video best ever mabey one day i could be as best as him at snare drum

  • this guy is the best ever hes coming to our school soon :)

  • Nick is the guy from blast

  • Blast! was based around this solo and Nick

  • @MadCoSnareLine Holy shit your dumb

  • No one has the chops of this man. He just did nearly all of that solo using all wrist. Crazy.

  • @Japnoyboi3 Yes they where. Jeff talked about it on the Blast DVD.

  • go UMass.

  • WOW! Just looked in on this vid to find an old pal Tony Pelgrino on here too, great bloke

  • Everyone at one time: there goes the Champ!

Has this solo been published? Can we get it?

  • His performance of this during his BLAST! days are my favorite. Train Wreck at its best.

  • Every year Nick comes to our high school for our drumline adition.Warren Central High School Warriors

  • Nick Angelis > Casey Brohard

  • YEAH Chris, he does.

  • he did the same thing in '93

  • ubelieveable

  • Nick handed me my first bong rip:)

  • Irish do you know Tim G.? Pretty sure hes at UC now. He graduated from the high school im in now.

  • HE is at UC, The PAW cadence is written by Angelis.

  • the most talented snare player i have ever seen. Nick is awesome!

  • soo kool lol nice work

  • nick is actually the drum instructor now at my college band. University of Cincinnati.

  • Tell him Chad Winship says hi. He probably won't remember a random Contra player he marched with in Boston 16 years ago, but what the hell.

  • you could say that. . .

  • @GreenCowboy you could say that...

from meeting them both in '03, that's just funny.

  • Nick is an amazing drummer. This was his A&E piece in 1991 as well, when he was marching with Boston. His sister took 1st on Tympani in A&E in 1990 as well. a very talented family.

Nick marched a few years with SCV, then I believe with Star and then was the original solo snare for Blast!

  • (Nick only marched SCV in 1992.)

  • My best friend's dad is married to Julie...you're right, extremely talented family. Have you ever done an A&E?

  • No, never did. Only as Audience. I only marched one year. 91 Boston has the A&E winner for Baritone and Colorguard.

My brother marched with both of them in 90.

  • Nick is one of the best of all time... I don't know any people who could do what he is doing at whatever age... Nick is 18 here. Jesus, what hands... glad he taught me :-)

    Cp

  • I've always secretly felt like Nick Angelis' playing was just slightly beneath some of the other "gods'," but this run-through is pretty impressive.

  • His quality of sound and straight up BALLZ is unmatched in my book.

  • @GreenCowboy I constantly find "quality of sound" to be the prize fans award their favorite drummer when there's really nothing objectively unique to say about their playing. Angelis is a bad-ass, though.

    Real talk.

  • @GreenCowboy P.S. The rhythmic integrity of what he's playing here is fucking GREAT. You don't hear much that isn't articulate, accurate and clean. But I do get tired of guys saying, "His quality of sound is just peachy," as if "quality of sound" isn't a mostly ambiguous, subjective distinction.

I wonder what score dude got here. Seems like it should have been nice and high.

  • @RCRhythm

Who are you thinking of as "gods"?

  • Ain't the thing he's playing from the guys from 'Blast'? sum sort of musical which was performed on broadway?

  • Yes he was one of the original blast members but this was YEARS before blast was even thought of. . .

  • This was before Blast. He was a member of Blast also

  • Great solo, though it's annoying how he's bent over the drum most of the time.
