I'll start by saying I'm pro-hunt. I'm all for spearing as an enjoyable, healthy and sustainable way to gather food. Please don't mistake this as crybaby-whining.

On the first fish I see almost a minute and a half before the shot cuts with the first opportunity to kill on the surface coming at about 20 seconds. A kill then or sooner would be more humane and probably make for better eating (fewer stress hormones).

Is there a particular reason you don't/didn't hurry to kill with knife or iki?
